BOGA Choir Visiting Elderly, 13 December 2014 (Sat),
Lok Sin Tong Chu Ting Cheong Home for the Aged
In an effort to bring warmth and joy to elderly during the festive season, the BOGA Choir
visited Lok Sin Tong Chu Ting Cheong Home for the Aged (樂善堂朱定昌頤養院). The Choir
sang a number of widely-known Christmas carols, accompanied by playing hand-carry
musical instruments. For particular song, the rhythm was reinforced through the shaking of
home-made canned bottles with beans. With the active participation of the elderly, we were
able to achieve great joy and fun together during the process. Games and talent quiz were
played with the elderly with small gifts to the winners. There were remarkable moments to
find how smart they were in tackling the talent quiz with ease. It was a very memorable visit
to the elderly home showing love and care with great team spirits of the members.

BPS Annual Prize Giving Day, 18 December 2014 (Thu), BPS Hall
Newsletter Issue Jan 2015 website: www.bogahk.org / FB: Boga_Belilios Page 8 of 13
BPS Annual Prize Giving Day was held on 18 December 2014 and the Guest of Honour this
year was Mr Wong Yan-lung, SC, JP. Our President Joyce Chan was also one of the guests to
present prizes to awardees. Mr Wong brought a very special guest, his father, selling ice-
cream and drinks to BPS girls 40 years ago and gave an encouraging speech to the students
on perseverance and sticking to something noble and good from telling his first-hand
experience of pushing ice-cream cart uphill and insight of volunteering.
Quotation of Mr. Wong’s speech:
“What cannot be emphasized more, young
ladies, is to put your talents and efforts to
a good cause. A career dominated by the
pursuit of self-enrichment, with little
benefit to others, can never be truly
satisfying. It is not naive or shameful to
listen to your heart to do something noble
and good, instead of what appears
popular, glamorous or lucrative. Be
fruitful rather than successful.”
“Stay faithful to what you believe to be
right and good, but refine your belief
continuously with greater knowledge and
experience, “Climb High and See Wide”,
and realize it in your career and in
services of others, whatever they may be.”
