An easy way to store your ribbon!

SUPPLIES: Scraps of decorative scrapbookpaper/wallpaper/gift wrap paper/fabric, ModPodge, scissors, straight cutter, brad, brown ink orchalk pad, embellishments: ( flowers, gems, die cutshapes, etc., empty ribbon spool-any size.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Carefully take apart your ribbon spool. Use anExacto knife if needed to cut around the lid andthe rim. Sand where needed to remove roughedges and remaining paper.

2.) Cut a 1 ¾ x 10 strip of paper to cover theoutside ring of an average size spool. (Sizevaries if using a wider or smaller spool-add anextra ¼ to fold over the top lid.)

3.) Cut slits ¼ on one side of strip to form a fringe.4.) Mod Podge the ring of the spool and cover with

the strip of paper, with fringe at the top.5.) Mod Podge the inside of the spool ring and fold

the fringe down around the inside.6.) Remove the bottom of the ribbon spool.7.) Sand all and ink edges of spool ring.8.) Trace one of lids four times in choice of pattern

paper.9.) Cut a strip of paper for inside of spool ring.

10.) Mod Podge inside of spool ring and cover withstrip of paper.

11.) Mod Podge both sides of lids and cover withpaper.Glue ring to bottom of lid. Leave topoff.Mod Podge everything and let dry.

12.) Poke a hole in the top of the spool ring and inthe lid (about ¼ inside).Fasten a brad throughthe holes adding a dot of glue to the hole andbrad before inserting in the hole and decoratetop of spool lid.

13.) Done/FIN!

RIBBON STOR AGE TIP: Tie a triple knot at theend of a long piece of sturdy string or ribbon,thread a large bead or large decorative eyeletdown to the knot, and add spools of ribbon.Leave room at the top to add more spools andtie a bow with a loop at the top. Hang on nailor hook for easy access.
