Dear friends,

Thanks for checking out the california edition of road trip > volumes 1, 2 & 3. This 3rd volume is, sadly, the final in the series...but as more road ventures occur, a new series may just come alive! Until then, happy trails to you... until we meet again :)

tid.bitstruly one of the most colorful cities i know... i just adore san francisco... the people are some of the most friendly i have come across {though not so much in rush hour traffic through downtown... that is a proper city for ya!}, the food never disappoints, the views are absolutely and completely breath-taking & it is just a downright, cool city!

chartreuse & a twist in sf!

china town

Great Eastern RestaurantSo the story goes like this...once upon a time, Daniel tried dim sum for the first time in China Town in Vancouver, BC. Well, that first little won-ton was piping hot and he quickly swallowed {w/out chewing...don’t ask why!}... there it stayed, lodged in his throat. I was chatting away with our friend, James, who we were with... all the while, neither of us knowing that Daniel was choking on a won-ton {he was not banging on the table or trying to get our attention at all!} Next thing we knew, out popped the won-ton & Daniel had major burns in his throat for the next week! SCARY!!! And the worst part? {well, besides the near death & 3rd degree burns?} The dim sum was HORRIBLE! The best part? We can all laugh about it now ;)I am happy to report that I made him try dim sum again - it was fantastic & he made it out alive!!! I definitely recommend Great Eastern Restaurant for some proper SF China Town dim sum!

daniel ate dim sum in china town & didn’t die ...& it was delicious!{there is a funny story attached... read above!}

Toronado, lower haightI discovered this lovely little dive bar with my bestie, Erika, a couple of years ago. We were actually trying to get to Haight St. but after accidentally stumbling across this fantastic spot, we never made it! We had so much fun & met some of the nicest people {“if you’re going to san francisco...you’re gonna meet some gentle people there”... it’s TRUE!}. Since then, I have wanted to take Daniel there. {Let’s be honest... we definitely enjoy a nice restaurant, but we also love a fun dive bar!!!} So, naturally, it was our 1st stop in the Golden City! We had so much fun, can’t you tell??!!

1. 1. Sol Food = AMAZING Puerto Rican food!!! 2. Crepevine = FANTASTIC crepes + fresh squeezed oj!!!

This is an incredibly adorable little city located in Marin County ~ just a hop, skip & a jump outside of San Francisco {18.5 miles to be exact}We stayed with Daniel’s cousin, James & his sweet girlfriend, Ashley. They showed us some of their favorite eating spots...and we are so grateful that they did! I am STILL craving Sol Food... some of the tastiest puer-to rican food EVER... and such a festive & colorful spot :) It’s definitely worth a little trip outside the city limits ...I suggest going either via a super scenic ferry ride from the city or a lovely drive across the golden gate bridge!When in San Rafael...here are my top 2 recommendations...
