Yardages and Cutting 7/8 yard Red large floral, 112-25452 7/8 yard Red geometric, 112-25475 7/8 yard Red scallop print, 112-25503 7/8 yard Red trailing roses, 112-25513 Cut the following from each red fabric: • 2 strips 8 7/8" x 42"; cut into (7) 8 7/8" squares each fabric, then cut each square in half diagonally to make 14 triangles each fabric. • 2 strips 4 1/2" x 42: cut into (14) 4 1/2" squares each fabric

7/8 yard Pink small floral, 112-25462 7/8 yard Pink geometric, 112-25476 7/8 yard Pink chevron stripe, 112-25492 7/8 yard Pink trailing roses, 112-25514 Cut the following from each pink fabric: • 2 strips 8 7/8" x 42"; cut into (7) 8 7/8" squares each fabric, then cut each square in half diagonally to make 14 triangles each fabric. • 2 strips 4 1/2" x 42: cut into (14) 4 1/2" squares each fabric

1 1/8 yards Dark red tonal, 112-25483 • 10 strips 1 1/2" x 42" for sashing • 7 strips 2 1/4" x 42" for binding

4 1/4 yards Backing of Choice

• 2 pieces 72" long

Piecing the Blocks Note: Use a 1/4" seam allowance for all stitching.

1. Sew a red triangle to a pink triangle. Press seam toward the red triangle. Repeat to make 56 triangle units total.

2. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the 4 1/2" red and pink squares.

3. Place a marked red square right sides together on the pink corner of 1 triangle unit. Stitch on the marked line. Trim seam allowance to 1/4". Press the red corner to the right side. Repeat with a marked pink square on the red corner of the triangle unit to complete (1) 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" block. Repeat to make 56 blocks total.

Completing the Quilt Note: Refer to the Exploded Quilt Diagram on the next page throughout the following steps.

1. Join 8 blocks to make a row with outer red corners, turning blocks to match red to red and pink to pink. Press

seams to 1 side. Repeat to make 4 rows total. Repeat to make 3 rows with pink outer corners.

2. Stitch the 1 1/2" x 42" dark red tonal strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side.

Cut into ((6) 64 1/2" strips.

3. Join the block rows with the dark red tonal strips to complete the quilt top, turning the rows as shown in the Exploded Quilt Diagram. Press seams to 1 side.

4. Remove the selvage edges from the 72" backing pieces. Join the pieces on the long edges with a 1/2" seam allowance. Press seam open. Trim the side edges to make a 70" x 72" backing piece.

5. Layer, quilt, and bind using your favorite methods and the dark red tonal binding strips to complete the quilt.
