enzyme kinetics, and many other areas of
research. The powerful and user-friendly software
provides simplicity for beginners as well as an
open experimental platform for advanced users. The 36-Well Rotor. The 72-Well Rotor.
Applications for all thermal cyclers availabe (PX2, Q-Cycler, BIORAD)
PCR is widely used as a diagnostic and research tool. Its applications are widespread over many disciplines,
including molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, clinical diagnostics, forensic science, environmental science,
hereditary studies and paternity testing.
Copying and amplifying fragments of nucleic acids (DNA).
Analyzing clinical specimens for the presence of infectious agents, e.g. HIV, hepatitis, human papillomavirus
and others.
In forensic science, using PCR-based DNA fingerprinting, fragments of DNA can be isolated from a crime scene
and compared to a database of DNA of convicts or criminals.
DNA fingerprinting is also used in paternity testing.
Analysis of genetic mutations that occurs in cancer and many genetic diseases.
Assisting the DNA sequencing technique where segments of DNA from an area of interest can be easily
amplified to study their sequences.
