Before and After 1-100You will need:Hundreds board (seebelow), you can printthese or make yourown. Counters or smallsquares of cardboard. How to play:Cover some numberswith counters or smallsquares of card. Askyour child to identify thenumber under thecounter, encouragethem to look at thenumber before it to workit out. For example, if 67is covered draw theirattention to theuncovered 66 and askwhat number comesafter 66.Cover two consecutivenumbers and ask themto identify the highernumber first by usingthe number after it. Forexample, if 25, 26 arecovered, ask them whatnumber comes before27.

Rocket MathsEach student needs to drawa “rocket” playing board likethe one shown below. Thenumber of floors on therocket can be increasedwhere larger whole numbersor decimals are involved. The aim of the game is to fillevery floor of the rocket withnumbers in order. If a player cannot place anumber they have thrown, they miss that turn. Playerstake turns to roll a dicetwice. From the numbersthrown, the students decidewhich two digit number theywill use. For example, if fiveand three is thrown, thestudent could use 53 or 35.The students then recordthe number on a level of therocket where they think itbest fits between 10 and 67.Once a number is written itcannot be moved.
