Smart Lighting PlatformSamsung LED
The Smart Lighting Module (SLM) is the key of Samsung Smart Lighting Platform.SLM is an all-in-one application-specific wireless and wired connectivity solution for smart office, building and IoT environments. Samsung SLM supports both wired and wireless communication protocols, including DALI, ZigBee and Bluetooth, to help smart lighting operators seamlessly connect to various sensor networks and smart devices. SLM enables smart lighting luminaires to act as nodes/controllers for diverse smart lighting environments.
Samsung SLM comes in three different types, SLM-D, SLM-A and SLM-P.The SLM-D uses DC 12~24V input voltage, while the SLM-A has full functionality with AC voltage from 100 to 277V, and the SLM-P is an upgraded version of SLM-A, which adds a power metering function.
Smart Lighting Module
The Samsung Smart Lighting Platform (SLP) is designed for integration with LED lighting systems in order to easily transform luminaires into smart, digital nodes. This Internet of Things (IoT) platform incorporates processing capabilities, connectivity and an open architecture. It is connected to sensors for collecting data and creating new applications. Information accumulated by the smart lighting platform can then be aggregated for analysis essential for the creation of new services for cities, communities, building operators, and ultimately all individuals, while further improving energy efficiency, safety and productivity. The Smart lighting platform will enable our luminaire OEM customers and our ecosystem partners, including sensor providers, analytics specialists, apps and services developers, to simplify and accelerate their ability to go-to-market.

Future-Proof Software ArchitectureThe SLM offers a script engine that simplifies firmware connections. This future-proof software architecture allows OEMs to customize a smart lighting device to their needs much faster, permitting development time to be far shorter with SLM than without it.The script engine is comprised of APIs connecting the middleware of the SLM and a user application. The middleware of SLM contains standard protocols such as DALI 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, ZigBee HA 1.2. Therefore, users may customize the SLM to be much simpler and more flexible. The APIs are scripts based on Lua which is a powerful, lightweight, embeddable, multi-paradigm programming language designed primarily for embedded systems and customers.Furthermore the SLM features wired (RS485) and wireless (Bluetooth) software download and update functionality. Users can download a user application software from PC to SLM through RS485 by using a terminal program. Also users can update software in the SLM over the air through Bluetooth by using an App supplied with SLM Development Kit. The SLM supports a security feature to protect user application software against reverse engi-neering when it is downloaded and saved into the SLM.
Compact All-In-One ModuleAs the core element of the Smart Lighting Platform, the SLM serves as the essential connector for all types of devices used in smart luminaires including sensors and drivers. The SLM offers several ports for greater flexibility in making hardware connections.
