Reclaiming the Bible2:30–4:00 p.m. (Small Lounge) This is “bible study” with a difference. Our goal will be to heal and move beyond the misunderstanding, confusion, hurtful interpretation, oppression, and other ways our Bible has been used against us.

The Diocese of Los Angeles Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration3:00 p.m. (Church) Featuring a keynote address by Devon Carbado. The program will

feature a series of readings followed by musical responses from the congregation, led by The Epis-copal Chorale, a renowned gospel choir under the direction of Canon Chas Cheatham. A reception follows in Sweetland Hall. Books from the Cathedral Bookstore will be available for purchase.

At 10:15 a.m. Rector’s Forum with Tracey Lind.The Very Rev. Tracey Lind is a newly retired Episcopal priest and city planner whose ministry has included work for social and environmental justice, interfaith relations, sustainable urban development, arts and culture, and progressive theology. Most recently, Tracey’s ministry has ex-tended to include the spiritual insights and lessons she has gained from a life complicated by dementia. On Nov. 8, 2016 (Election Day), Tracey was diagnosed with the early stages of Frontotemporal Degeneration. This diagnosis hasn’t stopped her from fully immersing in what life has to offer — and what she has to give. Both Tracey and her spouse, Emily Ingalls will be speaking. Emily will provide the spouse/caregiver perspective. Come be inspired by one of the most amazing people we know!

Care and Compassion for Persons with DementiaSunday Jan. 27, 1:00–3:00 p.m., in the Learning Center. A seminar for all who have or are providing care for those who suffer from dementia or Alzhei-mer’s. Adria Navarro PhD, LCSW, who teaches at Azusa Pacific, along with staff from the Alzheimer’s Association will provide important training for care givers who are helping loved ones with memory loss. Transformational Journey to El Salvador Dive deep into the politics and culture of El Salvador by serving as an international observer for the upcoming presidential election.
