Sarnia Club's 100th Anniversary Pigeon Show - Feb 14 2015 Mark your calendar. The date of the SPP&PSA 100th Anniversary Pigeon Show is Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015! It is shaping up to be another BIG SHOW for the host Sarnia Club members! I'm sure you've already seen some articles about the outstanding Poultry Show that the Sarnia Club is hosting on Saturday Feb 7, 2015 for its 100th Anniversary. Now it's time for some information about the incredible Pigeon Show! 100th anniversaries do not happen that often, so when they do, they are special, and that's how the Sarnia Club members are treating these Anniversary shows. But, what if there were two 100th Anniversaries to celebrate? Wouldn't that be incredible?? Absolutely it would be, and that's exactly what is happening, not only is the SPP&PSA celebrating its 100th Anniversary, the Canadian Jacobin Club is also celebrating its 100th Anniversary in the year 2015 as well. And we are proud to say that they are holding their 100th Anniversary Show along with the Sarnia Club's 100 Anniversary Show! I know what you're thinking..... wow, that's unbelievable, right! Well, great shows like this have to be held in a great showhall, and you all know we have a great showhall in Sarnia, DeGroot's Nurseries. That 18,000 sq.ft all-glass nursery is an ideal facility for a pigeon show, having an abundance of natural light and a bounty of fresh air. We heard from many fanciers who attended the CPFA Classic Show that we hosted in Sarnia in Feb 2014 that none of their birds got sick at that show! That's a very important bonus to shows held in this special Sarnia showhall. We're also going to celebrate these 100th Anniversaries with another fun and delicious banquet at the same restaurant that we held the CPFA National show banquet at in Feb 2014! Look for some more unique and interesting auction items again too. And finally, we will be holding another "top-of-the-line" Pigeon auction that should offer some "top" quality birds for sale to anyone who wants to buy them! Great shows need great pigeons, and we're going to have some great Specialty Pigeon Clubs participating with and supporting us again at this show! First of all, let's start with the Canadian Jacobin Club because it is their 100th Anniversary Show too, and appropriately they are also planning for "really big show"! This will be recognized as a Canadian National Jacobin Show as well, and it has already been confirmed to have drawn support by many top notch Canadian and American Jacobin breeders. We are expecting close to 200 Jacobins, if not more! The Canadian Indian Fantail Club is promising to be the 2nd largest pigeon club at the show with entries of 150 fantails or more. But the Pouter and Cropper Combine Club, and the English Trumpeter Club of Canada are also expecting to have around 150 entries at this show as well..... so it should be interesting to see which Specialty Clubs can drum up the most excitement and support from their members for this very special pigeon show!! Several other Specialty Clubs have also been confirmed already for this show as well, like the Canadian Helmet Club, the Canadian Roller Club, etc., etc.. and we are expecting several others to be confirmed shortly too. And finally, a great show with great pigeons needs great judges! And we have already confirmed 3 of the best judges in North America. John Heppner will be returning, John is bringing along his buddy and protégé Johnny DeCarlo Jr.! But it doesn't end there, the Canadian Jacobin Club is bringing in top Jacobin breeder and judge Drew Lobenstein to do the honours for the Jacobin Club anniversary show! Wow, 3 top judges, all travelling from California coming to this one special show in Sarnia, Ontario on Feb 14, 2014!! John Heppner said he really enjoyed coming back home to Canada to see and judge some of the best pigeons in Canada when he judged the CPFA National Classic show in Sarnia on Feb 1, 2014. He said he would love to be invited back anytime, so we said "why not"! So start making your plans to attend this great Pigeon Show now, this is one pigeon show you have to attend next year, all shows should be this good and this much fun!
