What is SAT Fun Club?

What is the SAT?
• The SAT is…• a test taken during your junior or senior year of
high school• used by colleges & universities to make
admission decisions (along with other factors, such as high school grades)
Why am I taking the SAT in 7th grade?
• Taking an above-level test will give you…• experience with the test• insight into planning for high school &

What if I don’t do well?
• This is the same exam that high school juniors & seniors take
• You are required to complete the entire exam• Your scores on the SAT as a 7th grader will
NEVER be sent to a college unless you request it.

Should I answer every question?
• Questions that you skip don’t count for or against your score.
• Points are not taken away for wrong answers on math questions where you need to enter the answer into a grid.
How much time will I have to take the SAT?
• 10 sections• 25 min essay• Six 25-min sections (math, reading, writing)• Two 20-min sections (math, reading, writing)• A 10-min multiple-choice writing section
Total test time = 3 hrs and 45 minutes
Why take the SAT?
