SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2014 – STATUE OF LIBERTY & ELLIS ISLAND

6:00 AM - leave Carroll Plaza, Westminster 6:15 AM - leave Reisterstown Shopping Center - fast food stop enroute 10:15 AM - Arrive at Liberty State Park in New Jersey for security checkpoints and to board the ferry. (NOTE: A primary security screening, similar to airport security procedures, is required for all visitors boarding any Statue Cruises ferry to Liberty Island, and must be completed at the point of departure before boarding. NO large packages, backpacks, suitcases, weapons, dual-use items that could be potentially dangerous, or any sharp instruments will be permitted on the ferry or Liberty & Ellis Islands. A secondary security screening is required at the Statue's monument entrance before visiting any area on or in the Statue. Visitors with pedestal access must secure the following items in a locker: (Most commonly carried items that must be secured) all food, drinks, and backpacks, tripods, laptops, non-folding umbrellas, over- sized bags, & strollers. 10:30-5:30 - Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Immigration Museum.

A meal voucher will be given to each passenger that can be used at either Ellis or Liberty Island Food Courts toward food purchases.

(A pedestal access pass for the Statue of Liberty has been reserved for our group. Pedestal access allows you to enter the lobby where visitors can experience the original torch, the Statue of Liberty Exhibit, then proceed to the promenade area for an up close view of the statue and a spectacular view of New York Harbor. Visitors can stroll the 11-point star-shaped Fort Wood and take an elevator to the ten-story pedestal observatory. People can get a full circle view of the harbor and a close-up view of Lady Liberty. NOTE: The statue’s crown is not accessible with this pass.) (Free Park Ranger-led Programs are available beginning at the Liberty Island Flagpole which last approximately 30-45 minutes providing a general history of the island and of the Statue. Daily schedules & information are posted at the Information Center. Self-guided audio tours are also available.)
