Sunday-August 23rd

News Reporter: After almost two months of uncertainty, the Prince

George’s County Public School system finally released earlier this week

news of exactly where the students of Bowie High School will be attending

school for the 2009-2010 school year. So as to not overcrowd neighboring

school too much, the PG County Public School system decided to divide the

student body into three separate nearby schools; Dr. Herny A. Wise Jr. High

School, Duval High School, and Eleanor Roosevelt High School, depending

on where they live within Bowie’s boundaries. Acting Board of Education

chairman, Verjeana McCotter-Jacobs, had this to say…Chairman: Bowie High School’s damage is considerable and will take a

few years to fully repair and reopen. We chose the three schools, Roosevelt,

Duval, and Wise, because these schools were either undercrowded, had new

facilities to be used, or a student body that the transferring students would be

able to easily get along with.

Jon: What??? None of those at all match up with Roosevelt. Why did they

choose us anyways??

Vaden: I know, seriously!! We’re already overcrowded, our building is old

as hell, and our whole rivalry thing was probably what caused this!!

James: Yeah… I wouldn’t be surprised if whoever burned down Bowie was

from Roosevelt…

Vaden: You think it was anyone we know that did it??

Jon: I doubt it… I mean, sure a lot of our friends hated Bowie, but not

THAT much…

1st Day of School-Before School

Michael: Julie!!!

Julie turns around.

Michael: You didn’t forget did you??

Julie: Ummm… no…

Michael: Soo?? What’s your answer??

Julie: I… Uhh… I’m gonna be late to my first class….

Michael: Julie?? Julie!!!

She walks off.

3rd Period Switch

Julie: Candace!!!

Candace: Heeeeyy!!!

They hug.

Julie: I thought you weren’t coming back this year!!

Candace: Well, after a lot of talking and thinking, my parents decided that

Roosevelt was still the best school for me. My parents talked to the principal, the school board and even the superintendent about getting me

back enrolled here, and they decided to let me in as long as I did away from

drugs, kept my grades up, and went to a drug rehab session twice a week for

3 months.

Julie: But you didn’t even do anything did you??

Candace: It’s a long story, but no I didn’t…

Julie: Ohh…

Candace: So how’s Diandre?? I haven’t seen her at all so far…

Julie: Oh I guess you didn’t hear… You know that fire at Bowie High in

June??

Candace: What about it??

Julie: Diandre got caught in it.

Candace: …what??

Julie: She’s okay now, she’s in the hospital. Rumor is that she got burned

pretty badly, but will be coming back to school soon…



Candace: Oh wow… That’s really sad…

Julie: Yeah, I know.

Candace: Well, I better get to class. I’ll see you later Julie.

Julie: Bye!!

They walk off.

5th Lunch

Julie: Hey Moses… I need some help…

Moses: Lemme guess… with Michael right??

Julie: Yeah… how did you know??

Moses: He asked you to marry him in front of everyone in our class on the

last day of school… How could I not know??

Julie: Ohh… Well, I don’t know what to do…Moses: Oh come on Julie, you’ve had the whole Summer to think about

this!! How could you not know by now??

Julie: It’s a hard decision. If I say yes, that means I’m saying that I’m going

to spend my whole life with him. And if I say no, he’s gone forever…

Moses: But you had to have had some kind of thought pushing you one way

or another…

Julie: Every time I decided on one option, I’d keep thinking about it than I’d

get pushed another way. Eventually, I just gave up on it and said to myself

that I’ll just decide when the time comes… Make it completely impulsive…

But that obviously didn’t work now did it??

Moses: Look, Julie, you love him right??

Julie: Yes, without a doubt I do.

Moses: And you’ll do anything for him??

Julie: Just about…

Moses: And he loves you??

Julie: Obviously…

Moses: And he’ll do anything for you??

Julie: I’m pretty sure…

Moses: Then just tel…

Three guys sit down at their table and push them aside.

Julie: Umm… excuse you…

Ryan: Oh shut up blondie, and get over it.

Julie: We would have let you sit here if you just had asked nicely…



Sid: Well, we didn’t we’re sitting here now… Again, get over it.

Julie: Hey, I know you… You’re from Bowie aren’t you??

Ryan: And??

Moses: You’re from Bowie… and you actually think you can just push aside

like you own the place??

Ryan: Hell, yeah. We’ll be runnin the place by the end of the year. Just you

watch.

Julie: I’d like to see you guys try.

Ryan stands up.

Ryan: You’re actually testing us, blondie?!?!?

Julie stands up.

Julie: Yeah, cause you don’t deserve to treat us like that.

Mr. Pryor walks over.

Mr. Pryor: Hey Hey Hey!! Does this table have to be separated??

Julie: Don’t worry Mr. Pryor, we’re leaving…

Julie walks off.

After School-Outside

Julie: Michael!!

Michael: Are you finally gonna stop ignoring me now??

Julie: Look, I’m sorry but, you asked me to marry you 2 months ago. That’s

a lot to take in.

Michael: But you had 2 whole months to absorb it all.

Julie: I know… I know…

Micahel: So?? What’s your answer??

Julie: Uhm…

Vaden: Hey look!!! Julie’s about to answer Michael!!

James: Finally, didn’t he ask her to marry him like at the end of school last

year??

Jon: I know right?? They’re both pretty stupid.

Tammy: How could she do this… with Michael?!?!?



A crowd begins to form.

Julie: Look… I… I can’t give you an answer now… I’m sorry. But I

promise you I will give you my answer tomorrow.

Michael: I don’t know if I can wait that long…

Julie: What??

Michael: Look, like I said, I asked you to marry me 2 months ago. If you

haven’t answered me by now, that pretty much gives me my answer.

Everyone: OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!

Julie: Michael, no!!! Wait!!!

He gets on his bus, the doors close and his bus begins to drive off….

Tammy: Well, you dodged another bullet I see.

Julie: What are you talking about??Tammy: Come on, we all know you were just trying to be nice. I mean,

would you actually get married in your Junior year of high school??

Julie: But….
