School of ComputingACADEMIC TERMS AND FEE SCHEDULE FOR YEAR 2011
Estimated annual studying and living costs in Australia are as follows. These costs may increase and students should budget for any increase.
AUSTRALIA
Tuition Fee (1 Year) approx. AUD 17,000 - 20,000
Cost of Living (1 year) approx. AUD 10,000 - 15,000
Total (1 year) approx. AUD 27,000 - 35,000
Note : International Students are required to pay an International Student Charge of RM 2,350 or USD 830 upon application and an International StudentAnnual Fee of RM 1500 or USD 527 per year (i.e. RM 750 or USD 264 each for the first two semesters in the year).
The following applies to the above programmes:
1. Tuition fees and miscellaneous fees are to be paid upon registration and according to due dates for subsequent semesters.2. All payments are to be in the form of cash (Ringgit Malaysia), credit card, bank draft or crossed cheque made payable to TAYLORS UNIVERSITY SDN. BHD..3. The actual tuition fees payable are in Ringgit Malaysia. For the purpose of this fee schedule, the estimated exchange rate of USD 1.00 = RM 2.85 is used. Any
shortfall arising from foreign exchange currency transactions to Ringgit Malaysia and bank charges will be borne by the student. Any surplus will be reflected asan excess payment.
4. International Student Charge and International Student Registration Fee are not refundable or transferable.5. Personal Accident Insurance Coverage of RM 30,000 is provided. Arrangement for higher coverage can be made available if needed.6. All international students are required to pay Personal Bond and the amount will depend on the students nationality.7. Please refer to other terms and conditions stated in the application form.

FEE POLICY
1. Fees paid are not transferable except as provided in paragraph 8 below. Fees paid are not refundableexcept in the circumstances set out in sub-paragraphs (b), (c), (d) and (e) below and provided that a requestin writing for such refund is received by the Head of Programme. Any refund of fees or part thereof is subjectto the following:
a) The Registration Fee, International Student Charge and International Student Registration Fee
are not refundable under any circumstances; Processing Fee is non refundable for Medical Degree
Programs.
b) Subject to sub-paragraph (a) above, if a student withdraws from the programme before the
commencement of the semester/term, an amount not exceeding 70% of all fees paid may be
refundable. An administration fee of RM100 will be charged.
c) Subject to sub-paragraph (a) above, if a student withdraws from the programme within the first
two weeks after the commencement of the semester/term, an amount not exceeding 50% of all fees
due may be refundable. An administration fee of RM100 will be charged. For avoidance of doubt, all
fees paid shall not be refundable after the second week of the commencement of the semester/term
except as provided in sub-paragraphs (d) and (e) below.
d) Subject to sub-paragraph (a) above, if a student is conditionally accepted into the programme onforecast results but is required to discontinue the programme due to non-fulfilment of entry
requirements upon official announcement of examination results, the student will be eligible for a
pro-rated refund of all fees paid. The pro-rated refund will be computed based on the number of
weeks elapsing from the date of commencement of the semester/term to the date of official
notification to the Head of Programme and proportionate to the total number of weeks of the relevant
semester/term.
e) Subject to sub-paragraph (a) above, If a student is required to leave the programme due to a callfor National Service and provided that the students request for National Service deferment isdenied, the student will be eligible for a full refund of all fees paid.
2. Any refund will be made in the name of the parent/guardian/sponsor/student where applicable as declaredin Part F of this application form.
3. All refunds whether of fees, deposits or whatsoever payments, shall be free of interest and shall besubject to the right of set-off by Taylor's against any fees or whatsoever payments due and owing toTaylor's.
4. For all semesters/terms, all fees are payable in advance and must be fully paid before or by the start dateof the semester / term. An administrative charge of RM50.00 will be imposed commencing from the thirdweek of the semester/term if payment in full is not received by the due date for each week or part thereofdelayed. Taylor's reserves the right to review the status of the student and to take such necessary action asTaylor's deems fit if payment is not received by the end of the fifth week of the semester/term. Such actionmay include the barring of the student from classes and facilities, suspension or termination of the student.
In such circumstance, Taylor's further reserves the right and shall be entitled to withhold all examinationresults, certificates and records of the student.
5. For inter-programme transfer cases (within Taylor's), an administrative charge of RM200.00 will beimposed except when the transfer is carried out before the semester/term commences for the first registeredprogramme. The amount of fees transferable to the new programme is subject to the following:
a) If inter-programme transfer is carried out within the first month of the commencement of thesemester/term, all fees paid are transferable to the new programme. In the event of a surplus, suchsurplus amount shall not be refundable but may be used to set-off fees for the subsequent term.
b) If inter-programme transfer is carried out after the first month of the commencement of thesemester/term but before the mid-semester/term, only 50% of tuition fee and the resource fee will betransferable to the new programme.
c) If inter-programme transfer is carried out after the mid-semester/term, only the Registration feeand all deposits are transferable to the new programme.
6. In the event that a student is expelled or is suspended or discontinues the programme due to misconductor any disciplinary matter or the non-attainment of academic requirement, there shall be no refund of feespaid.
