Bagby ELA Update

Action: Targeted InterventionAddition• Utilize auxiliary staff to provide support to targeted students

with additional small group instruction.• RSP teacher and aide will provide support in additional RtI

section for RSP students and selected FBB/BB students.

Action: Targeted Instruction for EL studentsAddition• Provide GLAD training to staff• Establish English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) and

facilitate at least three meetings this year.

Bagby Math UpdateAction: Implement standards based math

curriculum using problem solving strategiesAddition• Two 5th grade teachers will pilot the Investigations portion of

Envision Math to provide greater opportunity for critical thinking and problem solving.

needed professional development focused on improving students achievement in Language Arts.

• Train all teachers in GLAD by end of school year and integrate GLAD strategies into ELA.

• Staff will explore training on Explicit ELD instruction.• Train all teachers in key components of SuccessMaker.

• Use SuccessMaker as part of targeted instruction during RtI regrouping for students in intensive/strategic groups in grades 2-5.

• Teachers will develop and utilize grade level common assessments to determine growth and facilitate fluid placement of students for RtI regrouping.

with teachers of best practices for math instruction and learning.

Next Steps

• Carefully monitor implementation of SPSA.• Track growth of targeted students using Benchmarks

and other formative and summative assessments.– Adjust instruction accordingly
