3. Great Barrier Reef Marine Conservation Project

One of Australia’s major draw cards, The Great Barrier Reef, is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the

World and is the only living thing that can be seen from outer space. This wonder stretches 2600km

along the east coast of Australia! Due to its popularity this National Marine Park is protected to limit the

environmental impact caused by the large numbers of tourist that flock to the region each year along

with the fishing and other human influence. It is amongst others our responsibility to ensure the Great

Barrier Reef Marine Park – one of the world's greatest natural treasures - is protected for the future

generations.

One of the ways the impact on the reef is monitored is through a program called Eye on the Reef,

implemented by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA). This program and its success

highly depend on the monitoring and data collected by sources from all areas: marine biologists, marine

park rangers, fishermen, reef tour operators, tourists and other reef users, with information combined

in a single data management and reporting system.

No Limit Adventures has teamed up with reputable Pro Dive Cairns - Australia’s premier scuba diving

school and outer reef live aboard operator, to offer the first and only Great Barrier Reef Dive

Professionals Marine Conservation Program combining firstly the adventure of learning to scuba dive by

completing Pro Dive Cairns’ most popular 5 Day PADI Open Water Course with the opportunity to help

us help the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) monitor coral health on the Great

Barrier Reef.

The combined team at No Limit Adventures and Pro Dive Cairns in partnership with a group of dedicated

Marine Biologists from local business “Reef Teach” will be working together to ensure each participant

walks away with a great deal of self-fulfillment from participating in this unique program.

“The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef ecosystem and includes over 2,900 separate coral

reefs and supports an immense variety of life!”

Become part of our dedicated team and make a genuine contribution to marine conservation and care

for the Great Barrier Reef.
