Paint Maintenance & ProtectionSpecial care is required to restore and protect Yacht Paint. Gelcoat Restoration & ProtectionSea-Shield specializes in the restoration and protection of Gelcoat finishes. Being thicker and harder than paint, there are many ways to remove oxidation from Gelcoat finishes and bring back the original shine. Properly maintaining your Gelcoat finish is one of the most important aspects of yacht maintenance. We work with and sell only the highest quality, most durable and environmentally friendly compounds, polishes and Nanotechnology coatings available. Technology is always changing and improving. Stainless steel Restoration & ProtectionSea-Shield understands the intense care it takes to maintain stainless steel. Our metal restoration service, using a Nanotechnology based product, removes rust and tarnish from all metal types -- shining and protecting against future erosion. We also provide full machine metal buffing on stainless steel, taking light or deep scratches that make the steel look dull to a new mirror surface. This is done using top of the line FEIN POWER TOOLS and skilled technicians.

Glass Polishing & ProtectionSea-Shield provides glass polishing and protection on most glass surfaces. We specialize in water spot and scratch removal. Sea-Shield restores glass to "like new" condition by using special techniques and tools to remove hairline scratches and swirls caused by faulty prior cleaning methods. We believe that a well protected glass surface should be crystal clear and free of contamination. We provide a unique window coating made from Nanotechnology that gives your glass an extremely durable hydrophobic effect (water repellent). We assure that your marine glass will be protected for at least two years.

Why do Sea-Shield Products use Polycharger?We add Polycharger to our wax, because your yachts paint needs better protection. Replacing your yacht paint is costly; replacement is more expensive than prevention. Also it's a fact that yachts with paint damaged by water spots, acid rain, salt, UV and other hazards have a lower resale value.

How Does Polycharger Work?All modern yacht waxes, including paint sealants and protective paint polishes use polymer technology ,We use polymer technology boosted with polycharger for better shine and protection. Even so-called pure Carnauba waxes contain polymers. Unfortunately, the polymers used in consumer yacht waxes never get to do their full job. That's because most yacht waxes fail in the transition from a liquid to a dry film.

1. Polymers are long molecules capable of interlinking to form a mesh of molecule strands. This interlocking capability, called cross-linking, is what gives polymers their terrific strength. Unfortunately, most Yacht waxes fail to cross-link when applied to the surface. We have the secret!

2. Polycharger is a polymer booster and accelerant in one. The booster component adds two new space age polymers designed for high temperature, high corrosive Marine environments. When introduced to oxygen, the Polycharger accelerant hyper-activates polymers in their liquid state, forcing cross-linking to begin immediately. This provides an incredibly strong barrier from contamination and UV Degradation, prolonging the use full life of your Paint and Gelcoat finish.

No matter how good your Boat wax is by itself, Polycharger makes Sea-Shield last longer, improves its protective qualities and enhances the shine. Testing results show that Polycharger improves wax durability as much as 400%. You'll know Polycharger protection is still there because your paint will bead water repel dirt and shine like crazy, wash-after-wash.

WHAT IS NANOTECHNOLOGY?

To explain Nanotechnology, we have to start at the size we are talking about. We all know by now that Nano is a Greek word and means “dwarf. It does not mean we are dealing with dwarfs but it became a common word for everything which is smaller than 1 Micron or 1 millions of a millimeter. 1 Micron is 1000 Nanometer.

Nature made nano materials a long time before mankind started making them on purpose. There are lots of natural sources of nano materials. They are all around us. Enzymes and viruses are all in the nano sphere.There are natural and anthropogenic processes that release nano particles into the atmosphere. Natural sources include volcanic activity, natural fires, chemical reactions in the atmosphere, or sea spray leading to salt particles.To transform these Nano particles into useful products, Nanotechnology companies are looking at Mother Nature.

Copying the ideas of others is usually frowned upon, but when it comes to the work of Mother Nature, scientists are finding they can use nature as a template. Nature is skilled at fabricating organic structures at the nano scale. The best and most known example of a self cleaning surface is the so-called Lotus-Effect. Lotus leaves in particular have the unique ability to avoid getting dirty. (Discovered by Botanists Wilhelm Barthlott and Christopher Neinhuis from the University of Bonn in Germany)Lotus blossoms (the easiest to clean) are coated with tiny hydrophobic particles. When water contacts these particles, it does not wet the leaves. Instead, it simply rolls off, taking with it any dirt in its path.

To transfer the Lotus-Effect into coatings, it is necessary to create a hydrophobic surface with very low surface tension, along with the appropriate nano-structure. The nano particles have self-assembly properties. The particles self-assemble into a very tiny nanoscopic mesh which covers the surface of the substrate. Due to the technology, it is possible to create mono layer treatments only one nano particle thick!
