Potos Village

After you have fallen from the Waterfall, go south, then around in a circle to get to the sword. Take the sword and a voice will speak to you.On the east side of the area, there are some bushes. Hack at them with your sword to clear a path to the next area.Continue through the next two areas and fight the Rabites to increase your leveland sword power. Once your sword reaches level one, if you hold the attack button, you will be able to power up your sword and make a more powerful attack.When you get to the village, speak to the elder. He will be shocked that you were able to remove the Mana Sword.Elliot will start bullying you, and you will both fall into a pit and be attacked by the Mantis Ant.A man will come out of the tavern and will tell you how to fight the Mantis Ant.Once you have killed it, he will pull you out and tell you to meet him at the Water Palace.Enter the elder's house and the villages will tell you that you must leave the village. Go downstairs and take the money from the chest. Speak to the elder onceagain and he will say his farewells to you.Speak to the guard in the southeast corner of the village. He will let you passand then officially banish you from the village. You will not be able to get inagain.Gaia's Navel

Follow the signs to the Water Palace where Jema will meet you at the front. Stepon the green tiles inside to make bridges appear.When you speak to Luka, you will learn a little about what has happened. After Jema has left, speak to Luka again and she will answer some of your questions. Then you will seal your sword with the mana seed.Just south of the Palace you will be captured by goblins. A girl will save you and then run off without even telling you her name.Go south to the Kingdom of Pandora and enter the castle. You will meet the girlagain who is angry with her father for trying to arrange her marriage. She willjoin you and tell you to help her defeat the witch.Enter the throne room. Jema will tell you that he is going to investigate the ruins to find out what is happening to the people.Exit Pandora on the east side and continue past the village of Kippo.

Go north until you enter the Haunted Forest. In the second area, take a swing atthe stumps blocking your way and the girl will suggest you go to Gaia's Navel to find an axe.Leave the haunted forest and go to the area that spirals inward. Go to the center and enter the cave on the left.Enter the tunnel on the west side of the lava area and hit the skull at the endwith your weapon. Return to the lava area and you will be able to continue.You will find another skull switch on the far east side of the next area that you will need to hit.After you hit the switch, go back down the stairs and cross the platform that has just appeared to enter Gaia's Navel.Speak to Watts, the Blacksmith, and for 100 gold, he will reforge your sword into the Broad Sword. He will also promise to make you an axe.

Enter the tunnel at the north end of the village and pay 50 gold to see the exhibit. Give 100 gold to the Sprite who is trying to pay off his 50000 gold debt.Enter the passage on the left and you will overhear the elder and sprite's conversation. Talk to them and they will apologize for lying to you and will return your 150 gold.Once you have seen the Sprite and have had your sword reforged, a monster namedTropicallo will appear. Defeat it to receive a Spear Orb.After you have defeated Tropicallo, the elder will give you Chobin's Bow and Arrows and will ask you to take the sprite with you. Speak to the sprite and invitehim into your party.

Speak to Watt to receive Watt's Axe. He can also reforge your spear.Elinee the Witch

Return to the Haunted Forest to the north and use Watt's Axe to get past the obstacle.Continue through the forest to the Witch's castle. At one point you will need tostep on a switch to open the passage.Inside the castle, you will find a tile, but a bridge does not appear when you step on it.Enter the prison below you and free the prisoners. One of the guards will tell you that all three people need to step on the tile to extend the bridge.Go back up and step on the tile to make the bridge appear.Continue through the castle until you meet the witch Elinee. She will send Dyluck to Thanatos in the ruins by Pandora and will then send her pet, Spikey Tiger,after you.Once you have defeat Spikey Tiger, leave the area and speak to Elinee. She willbeg for mercy and will offer you two chests, one of which has the whip. You canleave the castle in peace.Undine

When you exit the castle, Luka will ask for your help in the Water Palace.Go to the Water Palace. You can take a short cut if you use the whip to get across to the other ledge in the haunted forest.Luka will ask you to help Undine in the cave behind the Palace.

Enter the cave to the east of the Water Palace and fight Tonpole which will turninto a Biting Lizard.Once you have defeated the biting lizard, enter the next room and Undine will give the girl and the sprite magical powers.If you practice casting the spells, the girl's and the sprite's magic levels will go up and their spells will be more powerful.Underwater Palace

Return to the Dwarf Village in Gaia's Navel and enter the Underground Palace.Have the sprite cast Freeze on the crystal orb and you will be able to cross thelava barrier.Step on the the two plates in the bottom corners of the next area to open the passage to the next area.

At one point you will need to use the whip to get across a chasm.Eventually you will find a gnome and the sprite will start attacking it. The commotion will draw the Fire Gigas.Once you have defeated the Fire Gigas, speak to the gnome in the back room and he will give the girl and the sprite some more magical power.Touch the seed on the pedestal to receive its power.Pandora

Leave the Underwater Palace and go to Pandora. Speak to Phanna by the south exitfrom the city and she will disappear.Go to the ruins south of town and you will watch Phanna enter the building. Thegirl will get upset and push the guards aside so that you can enter as well.To defeat the Tomato Men inside, you need to power up your weapon. It may be eas

ier to just run past them.Eventually you will meet Thanatos and your party will fall into a pit.To defeat the wall, first attack both the eyes. The center may revive an eye, but it will have very little energy, so you should be able to destroy it again pretty quickly. Once both eyes have been closed, the wall will move toward you andpush you toward the far wall. Attack the center piece with all your magic and with your weapons and destroy it before it squishes your party.After you have defeated the wall, Thanatos will disappear with Phanna and Dyluck. Speak to Jema and he will tell you to go to the Water Palace.Speak to the king in his chamber and he will allow you to take the treasures he

was saving for the hero. The treasure will consist of 200 gold, a Spear's Orb, and a Sword's Orb.Water Seed Stolen

Go to the Water Palace and speak with Luka. The water seed has been stolen!Go to the dwarven village in Gaia's Navel and speak with Jema.Enter the new pit that has appeared below Jema and the dwarf elder to meet the bandits who stole the seed.Defeat Kilroy and you will receive the water seed.When you return to the Water Palace again, you will find it inhabited by enemies.Geshtar of the empire has captured Luka. You will be fed to the Jabberwocky.After you have defeated the Jabberwocky, the empire's troops will have fled. Touch the mana seed with your sword to reseal the seed.Speak to Jema. He will tell you to talk to the Cannan travel guy by Potos to travel to the Upper Land.Moogle Village

Go to the Cannon Travel Center by Potos Village and ask to by sent to Upper Land.When you land, you will be surrounded by Moogles who are crying because Pebblershave taken over their village.Go south, then east. Follow the path in the northeast corner of this area to enter the village.

Defeat the Pebblers in the village and the Moogles will be able to return to their village. Take the two orbs from the chests and Watts nearby will be able to reforge your weapons.If you speak with the Moogles they will give you a secret to get to the next area.Wind Palace

Leave the village and go west. You are now in the spring area. Go east to go tothe summer area, then north for the autumn area, and west for the winter area. Go south again and the passage to the palace will open up just to the right of where you are.When you enter the sprite village, the villagers will be gone and you will haveto fight Spring Beak.

Once you have defeated the enemy, keep going north and enter the palace. Touch the seed to gain its power and the sprite's grandpa will give you the magic of Sylphid.Matango

From the spring area, go west and cast Air Blast on the Crystal to continue.Continue until you reach Matango, the city of mushrooms. Speak to King Truffle in the Castle and he will ask you to enter the cave and defeat the snake.From the throne room, go south and then take the south exit on the east side ofthis room to get to the cave.At one point in the cave, you need to cast Earth Slide on a crystal and when yougo back to the previous area, a new route will be open.Defeat the Great Viper and then enter the cave behind it where you will find a b

aby White Dragon.You will take the dragon to King Truffle and he will raise it for you so that you can continue your quest.The Sandship

Leave Matango through the entrance you first came in from and go to Kakkara viathe Cannon Travel Center.In the desert, go north, west, north, east, then north to find an Imperial Sandship. You will be taken aboard, but will be made slaves.Speak to Sergo twice and he will help you escape. Speak to the guards and Sergo

will distract them so that you can leave.In the kitchen of the sandship you will find the sprite who has eaten all theirfood.Enter the central cabin and the sprite will fool the guards into leaving.Inside the captain's cabin you will find the girl. The empire's troops will arrive, however, and take over the ship.Speak to Geshtar at the front of the ship and you will have to fight the Mech Rider.Once you have defeated the Mech Rider, speak to one of the guards and you will be asked if you wish to leave and return to the desert.Salamando

Go north and enter the village of Kakkara.Talk to the people in Kakkara and you will discover that Salamando is missing, the Fire Seed has been stolen, and their wells have run dry.Go right to the Cannon Travel Center and go to the Ice Country. You will arrivein Todo where the residents complain about it getting too hot.Leave the village and enter the forest. Along the way you will meet Rudolf who will tell you that his master is missing. You will find a Spear's Orb inside thehouse.Eventually you should reach the Tropics, a warm resort in the middle of the icecountry.Talk to the guy in front of the stove and he will ask you to watch it for him. Open it up to free Salamando. The village will become cold and every one will lea

ve.Ice Palace

Continue north from the deserted resort and enter the Ice Palace.Inside the palace, take the right branch to get the Glove's Orb and then take the left branch.When you step on the tile in the second library area, you will fall into a pit and will have to fight three biting lizards.When the voice asks you to leave, refuse and you will have to fight the Frost Gigas.Once you have defeated the Frost Gigas, Santa Clause will return to his normal self and give you the fire seed.Fire Palace

Go to the cannon travel center southeast from Santa's house and return to Kakkara.Go south from Kakkara, then west, then north to get to the Fire Palace.In the lava room, cast Exploder on the crystal to blow out the flames.Cast Fireball on the next crystal you see to create a bridge.When you reach the room with braziers, step on the tile to light them all and make a crystal orb appear. Cast Freeze on the orb and all the braziers will go outexcept for two. Step between them and the passage to the next room will appear.Defeat the Minotaur in the next room and then continue to the seed room behind.You will put the seed back into place, then touch it to receive its power.Southtown

Go to the Cannon Travel Center and fly to the Empire. You will land next to Southtown.Speak to Mara in the northwest corner of the town. She will tell you that she isa spy and will give you a password so you can get into the sewer.On the far east side of town, speak to the guard and give him the number '634'.The guard will allow you to enter the sewer.Go through the sewer and you will arrive in the Resistance's head quarters in Northtown. You will be met by the leader of the resistance, Krissie.Northtown: Ruins

Go to the ruins in the northeast corner of the city. You will meet Phanna who isapparently being controlled. Krissie will appear and take Phanna to their doctor.Eventually you will enter a large area with some spikes blocking the passage ways. Enter the passage to the south and at the end you will find a switch that will remove the spikes.Behind the spikes in the northwest corner you will find a Sword's Orb.Step on the switch which was blocked by spikes on the east side of the area anda new doorway will appear.After a little while you will have to fight the Doom's Wall. Keep attacking bothDoom's Eyes until they are both closed and then finish off the Doom's Wall.In the next room you will meet Dyluck, who will kill the girl. The hero will attack Dyluck and he will regain his senses. He will tell you to help the girl whois in the next room.Hurry to the next room and you will see Thanatos draining the girl's life. Dyluck will give her some power, however, and she will come back to life. Thanatos will flee and leave the Vampire behind to attack you.Once you have defeated the Vampire both Thanatos and Dyluck will be missing. Leave the ruins.Northtown: Castle

Go to the resistance base and speak to Krissie who will tell you that the emperor has offered peace. She and two others will leave to go to the castle and she will ask you to follow them.

Go to the castle and speak to the emperor. He will throw you in prison with Krissie and the other members of the resistance.Speak to the guard and he will let you out but then throw you into a pit to fight the Metal Mantis.Once you have defeated the enemy, step on the teleport and you will be teleported to the castle dungeons.When you get back to the prison, step on the switch to free Krissie and the others.Continue through the castle until you reach an area that has tiles which preventyour party from passing. Step on the tile to the northeast to teleport to the southwest corner. Then hit the switch next to the northwest tile. You can now walk over the tiles and continue to the next room.You will have to fight Geshtal, the Mech Rider, again, on the top of the castle.

Once Geshtal has been defeated, King Truffle will appear riding on top of Flammie, the White Dragon you rescued earlier. He will give you the Flammie Drum, so that you can summon Flammie at any time.Dark Palace

Fly southwest to Matango in the Great Forest and drop off King Truffle.Go southwest to the town of Mandala in the Lofty Mountains.Leave the town and go to the far east side of the next area. Climb to the top ofthe mountain and Jehk will tell you that the sage is in the Palace of Darkness.Go back down the mountain and enter the Palace of Darkness. You passed the entrance earlier.To get through the first area, you will need to step on several tiles to open passages.

In the next area, step on the tiles to make bridges appear. Although you can't see them, they are outlined with small flames.Once you have defeate the Lime Shade, you will receive Shade's powers. Touch themana seed to gain its power.Return to Jehk at the top of the mountain and he will tell you that the sage went to Gold Isle.Light Palace

Fly northeast to Gold Isle. The entire town is made of gold!The Light Palace is at the north edge of town, but it is locked. On old man on t

he town walls will give you a clue to its location.Go to Southtown and speak with Mara in the northwest corner. She will give you the Golden Tower Key.Return to Gold Town and enter the Light Palace.You need to fight Blue Spike and the Gorgon Bull to get through the Palace.Speak to Lumina to gain its magic and then touch the mana seed to receive its power.Moon Palace

Return to Jehk in the Lofty Mountains and he will tell you that the sage has gone to the Moon Palace.Fly to the Kakkara desert and land just below the Moon Palace which is an islandin the middle of a void surrounded by mountains, to the east of the town.Take Karon's ferry to the Moon Palace and enter it.The moon palace is just one large empty space. From the stairs go west and a little north to find a crystal orb. Cast Lucent Beam on the orb to dispel the illusion.Speak to Luna to gain its magic and then touch the mana seed to receive its power.Tasnica

Speak to Jehk again in the Lofty Mountains and he will tell you that the sage isin Tasnica.Fly west to find the city of Tasnica, the capital of the Republic. Inside you wi

ll meet Jema again and he will warn you to look out for an Imperial spy.Speak to the king and he will accuse you of being a spy. You will discover thatthe king is being possessed by a Dark Stalker.Once you have defeated the Dark Stalker, speak to the king again and he will regain his senses. He will give you a Sword's Orb.Talk to Jema and he will tell you to visit Sage Joch to learn true courage.Sage Joch

Return to Jehk at the top of the Lofty Mountains and he will introduce you to Sage Joch. The sage will ask that you complete a test for him.Enter the cave behind Jehk. For some of the enemies, you will need to charge upyour weapons to hurt them.Defeat the three shadows then return to Jehk. He will reveal that he is really S

age Joch and the other was just an illusion. He will tell you to go to the sunken isle.Sunken Isle

Fly to the sunken isle south of Tasnica and descend to the final palace.Inside the palace you will find the Emperor and two of his cronies. Sheex will remain behind to fight you.After you have defeated Aegagropilon, climb to the next level. You will be too late, however: the seal has been broken.The Dryad will appear and tell you to flee before the island is raised. You willgain its powers.After the island has risen, land on it again and speak to Jema. He will tell youto find a way into the lower part of the palace.

Climb down the pyramid the palace is on and enter the cave in the water.In the second area of the cave, go to the northeast corner, then go west. Walk into the stream and halfway down, push the button on the wall to stop the flow sothat you can go back up. Do the same for the third stream to reach the exit inthe northwest corner.Once you have defeated the Hydra, you will see the Emperor again, but he will blind your party and take off.In the next area, you will find Krissie and Watt in one of the rooms. Krissie will restore your energy and Watt can reforge your weapons.In the next area, you will need to step on buttons to open the gates. At the end

of the area, step in the middle of the four tiles to open the passage.When you get to the colored buttons in the next area, press the red, then the blue, yellow, then finally green to open the door.Once you have stepped on the button in the passage after that door, keep going to the far east side of the area to find the door you just opened.Eventually you will come across the Boss and his gang and will have to defeat their Kettle Kin before you can exit the cave.Grand Palace

Enter the lower entrance to the Grand Palace.In the first room, enter the lower door. Cast Gem Missile on the Crystal Orb inthe room on the left, and Freeze on the orb in the room on the right.Return to the first room and go through the upper door.Cast Thunderbolt on the orb in the room on the west side and Fireball on the orbin the room on the east side.In the next area, cast Lucent beam on the orb in the room in the southwest corner and Dark Force on the orb in the room in the southeast corner.To open the gate to the next area, hit the switch on the wall beside it.For the last orb cast Lunar Magic then take the stairs in the bottom-right corner.Defeat the Snap-Dragon and continue to the top floor of the palace.Enter the area behind the mana seed and you will meet Fanha who will admit to defeating the Emperor.You will have to fight Fanha as Hexas and the Mech Rider. Afterward, Thanatos wi

ll activate the Fortress and the Island will sink again.Pure Land

Land on the Sunken Isle again and talk to Jema. He will tell you to go to the Mana Tree to fully revive your sword.On the east side of the Palace, you will find Neko who will sell you the most powerful armor that money can buy. You'll need it for the next area.Fly to Pure Land which is found north of Kakkara.To get to the mana tree you need to fight many enemies including the Dragon Worm, the Snow Dragon, Axe Beak, the Red Dragon, the Thunder Gigas, and the Blue Dragon. There are save spots along the way.When you get to the Mana Tree, however, Thanatos will destory it with the mana fortress. With the last of her strength, the mana tree will reveal that she is yo

ur mother and will revive the power of the Mana Sword.Use the Flammie Drum to leave the area.Mana Fortress

Fly close to the Mana Fortress floating in the sky. When you get close enough, Flammie will slowly fly up off the screen and go to the Fortress.Fight your way through all three levels of the Fortress and defeat Buffy and theDread Slime along the way.When you reach Thanatos he will try to take over Dyluck's body, but Dyluck willforce him out and the expence of his life. You now have to fight Thanatos as theDark Lich.Once Thanatos has been defeated, you will have to battle the mana beast who is attacking the fortress. You need to have both the girl and the sprite cast Mana M

agic on the hero and he will receive the Mana Sword, which is the only weapons which can hurt the beast. First the Mana Beast will throw fire at your party, then he will charge you, and finally it will approach your party and you'll be ableto hit it.
