I am a newly examinated landscape architect from Sweden based in Copenhagen. I moved here in 2014 to do my Master Degree and I think that this city is a great place for new ideas and interesting architecture at the moment.

I like to work with a varity of projects, in different contexts, scales and motives. Most of my recent work have been involving water, and that is something that I hope to continue working with in my future job. Water is of course the source of all human settlements, but for a landscape architect it has becomme one of the most common tasks to deal with for projects that should stand a future.

I prefer working in teams since I belive great ideas always benefit from colaberation with good people. I hope to find a good enviroment to keep on developing as a landscape architect, and a good team that welcome a newly exeminated landscape architect.

Healing Bagmati was my Master Thesis project. We started the investigation in a large scale and gradually zoomed into our site. We formulated a green strategy for the city of Kathmandu, where the rivitalization of the river becomes the catalyst and the framework for the green transformation of the city.We then proposed the city park; Bagmati River Park, that transforms the void, the polluted river, into a recreative green space.

The Ghats is the Hindu stairs that give the devotees access to the holy waters. The water level has been

shrinking over the years, and in this project we reconnect the Ghats to the water with a canal

Page 10: Selected Projectes

10

The Bagmati Riverpark is designed in a master plan scale. We made nine zoomed-in areas to unfold in greater detail and visualise what the spaces would look like. They all have some major elements in common, but have their own programme. We have tried to enhance the use and characteristics of each area in the design process.

A study of the rising sea levels in Kalveboden. Being a new harbour, it will need a dugged out shipping

channel. This soil then gets used in the creation of a new archipelago. The rising waters will, with time, create an apperance of islands, spread out in Kalvebod Harbour.

Our semester task on KADK was sea level rise in the Kalvebod estuary in Copenhagen. The object was to design for a future sea level rise of one, two and three meters. There were a lot of discussions on how to design the dike, but I wanted to investigate what possibiliteis you could get by not walling yourself in, but rather let the sea level rise determine a new type of archipelaco landscape, and how that could be used.

Two public squares, only 30 minutes apart, but on either side of a divided city. This installation connects them both with digital interactive technology. When someone walks on the surface in Ramallah, their foot prints are projected on the surface in Jerusalem and vice versa. The installations create volatile spaces in both cities; an interactive space that allow people to overcome borders with the help of technology.

This studio focused on a five kilometer stretch from Sjælør Boulevard to Sydhavnstippen with green connections and storm water management in focus. We decided to focus on the cultural house, Karens Minde, and created an improved city park in Sydhavnen. The raised board walk emphazise both the direction of the park and the cultural house.

Letting the military history of Am-ager take form in the design lan-guage gave us inspiration in our design process.

The intervention areas along the spine will make it more intriguing to travel through the area

Page 26: Selected Projectes

26

The main focus of this studio was on the borderline territory between city and nature, the encounter between the urban fabric of Amager and on the recently conceptualized Nature Park Amager. All of these were exposed to a strategic landscape exploration. In our proposal we pointed out a historic line, that has always been running from North to South in this stretch. By developing different intervention areas along the spine, we raised awareness of the Nature Park and strengthened the connections between East and West.

Student Competition “120 hours”, 2015Preservation of a deserted Arctic townPyramiden, Svalbard, NorwayJens Hansen Holm & Hans BruunJulien De Smedt

Reflecting the past into the futureExperimental preservation of a deserted coal mining town

The main line running through Pyramiden is the coal route, which is the whole premise of why man created a settlement at this location

We’re proposing to turn the focus towards a new line in Pyramiden, the height curve 70 meters above the current sea level. A symbol of what would happen if all ice on our planet was to melt. The line also reminds us that there is hope for a brighter future

Page 29: Selected Projectes

29

Pyramiden is a deserted coal mining town in Svalbard. The extraction of fossile fuels is what melts the ice and raise the sea levels. In this competition entry, we highlited the 70 meter elevation height curve by a line of mirrors reflecting the sun. The installation is both a reminder of the past and a look into a fossile-free brighter future.

This project was about making the limestone quarry at Osmundsberg, a part of the geopark Meteorum, accessible for visitors.Since there is still industrial activity at the grounds, we located the best spot, with the best view over the quarry and created a visitor center, where you can overlook and observe what is going on at the site without interferring with the work. The design of the building is part of the story telling, on how a meteorite hit the area 377 millon years ago and with the impact pushed the limestone into the ground.

Plan of the M-size Velotop

Velotop is a round bicycle stand with a roof and a planting pit in the centre. The plantation will work as a rain garden and manage storm water, as well as providing a lush green environment and help biodiversity into urban areas. It was a colab between VEGA Landskab and Out-Sider, who built it. It comes in three different sizes, according to the demands of the client.

I am interested in documenting my surroundings, in visual story telling and in transforming my observations to photographs. I have been photographing for many years now and I have found that it helps me gain a greater understanding for composition, patterns and spatiality.

ModelsI’ve always liked carpentry so stepping out from the sketch and into the model workshop is something that I try to do at an early stage of a project. This is in order to get a sense of spatiality and to get new inspiration and ideas. For me the model is more of a tool in the design process, than a way to display a final proposal.
