–Display Ads• Gives information about the business, usually phone number, address,

product information, slogan, etc.

–Message• An ad that shows how proud the business is of the school

• Ex: “Congratulations Class of 2012!” from a local coffee shop

–Patron Ads• Ads that sponsor a specific club, sport, etc.

• Some patron ads are included in school advertising packages

–Page Sponsor (folio ads)• The name of the business on the page of the business’s choice

Boosting Ad Section Appeal

–What are different ways to boost the ad section’s appeal?

• Rename the ad section to the community section• Run a border of photos on the advertising pages• Include feature stories within the ad section• Attract attention with survey results and infographs• Run community news highlights or current events• Print the index throughout the ad section• Mix congratulatory ads with business ads• Use various spot colors to enhance the ad designs
