    Senior CAD/Mechanical Designer

    Detail-oriented Senior Design Professional with a diverse background in the compressor industry. Experience includes designing parts for industrial, portable,oil free and breathing air compressors that are gas, diesel or electric driven.Recognized for strong analytical organizational skills, works well independently and within a team to achieve company goals. My greatest strength is that I payattention to detail, so that it will be less of a chance that I will miss, eventhe little things. I have taken a course in AutoCad rel 12. I have about 21 more credits before finishing my bachelors at Purdue Calumet in Mechanical Engineering Technology. If clearances, such as a secret clearance, are needed I am sure I would have no problem getting one.

    PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    SULLAIR CORPORATION, Michigan City, IN 1996 to 2008Global manufacturer of industrial and portable compressors.

    Senior Designer/Product Development 1999 to 2008Designed and revised portable, stationary and oil free compressors using UG NX4(CAD). Created and edited Bill of Materials on company database (J.D. Edwards).Solved fit-up issues. Chose parts for new designs or changes. Created piping,

    tubing and hose design and routing. Created P&I drawings and wiring diagrams.Create and modify assemblies using NX4. Used the UG-NX Sheet Metal Program forcreating canopies, control boxes, enclosures, misc. parts, etc. Product Development and Improvement was my main focus. I was the designer that designed the new controller box/enclosure for the Compass Controller.

    * Worked in a team environment to design/re-design compressor packages* Part of the company's First Responder Team.* Proficient in Unigraphics V15 through NX4 CAD.

    * Proficient in ASME Y14.5.* Proficient in GD&T.* Work with Lean Manufacturing (ACE at Sullair).* Worked with extensively on CAT diesel engines C6.7, C9, C15, C18 (Tier 2, Tier3, and knowledge of the Tier 4 changes).* Proficient with Solid Modeling.* Proficient in tubing and hose routing.* Proficient with sheet metal design.* Proficient in harness design and layout.* Have performed a few FEA's.* Used FTP sites to transfer drawings, assemblies, etc.* Generate ECO's (engineering change orders)* Sheet metal and structural steel welding design.

    * Design Layouts* Designed control panels and boxes (E/M)* Pressure Vessel design (ASME)* Assemblies* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications and others; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Access, Photo Elements, Nero, Internet Explorer.

    Designer/Industrial Group Product development 1996-1999* Acted as Safety Coordinator, Dryer Filter Division.* Acted as ISO Representative for dryer and filter division.

    * Part of the company's First Responder Team.* Acted as First Responder Team Leader for Dryer Division.* Associate ISO internal auditor.* Proficient in Unigraphics V9-V15 CAD.* Proficient in ASME Y14.5.* Proficient in GD&T.* Work with Lean Manufacturing (ACE at Sullair).* Worked with electric motors: Toshiba.* Proficient with Wire Frame designing.* Proficient with sheet metal design.* Generate ECO's (engineering change orders)* Sheet metal and structural steel welding design.* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications and others; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Access, Photo Elements, Nero, Internet Explorer.

    BAUER COMPRESSORS, Norfolk, VA 1988 to 1994Leading breathing air compressor manufacturer.

    Design EngineerDesigned compressor packages as per the needs of the clients (2500 - 7000 psi).

    * I managed my own projects and performed all necessary designs by myself.* Hand-drafted a large air-end with great detail the challenge was not to smearthe lead, so I switched to plastic lead and I accomplished a very detailed air e

    nd drawing without smears.* I also used ink on some large ID drawings.* Designed a challenging compressor package that fits on the tailgate of a truck, and received personal accolades from the client.* Designed a fill panel and fill station, mounted in a fire truck that is used to fill 10 min breathing air tanks for the fireman. The manufacturer of the truckpersonally brought the fire truck by to show engineering how nice the equipmentfit up in the truck and that they were very satisfied.* In 1990 we started using a CAD program called ME-10.* I became very proficient with CAD package.* The compressors are the reciprocating type. We had 3, 4, & 5 stage air ends.And pressures 2500-7000psi.

    Other Experience:Florence and Hutcheson Engineering, Virginia Beach, VA (1988)Civil Draftsman* We were designing a highway that was to be built in the northern part of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia.* Using inking (drafting ink) a great deal.* We obtained aerial photo's to pick off buildings that were to be removed.

    Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA (1976 to 1977) & (1981 to 1985)Licensed Practical Nurse

    * Worked on a medical-surgical floor primarily.

    * I was team leader with 2-4 nurses and aides working under my supervision.* I had numerous opportunities to be charge nurse on the 3-11 shifts, with 4-6 nurses and aides I was in charge of.* I conducted reports about each patient at end of each shift for the whole floor when I was in charge.* I gave medications and performed treatments on all assigned patients.
