    Job Scope:The successful candidate will be part of a team which coordinates and oversees timelypreparation of payroll processing, benefit and pension programs and relatedgovernment filings and reports. This individual is accountable for the successfulexecution of weekly and semi-monthly payroll and system/data integrity for effectivebenefits and pension administration through outsourced providers. This is a role for aseasoned professional with strong aptitude for processes, and knowledge of bestpractices with the ability to optimize system effectiveness.Responsibilities: Liaise with vendors and stakeholders on payroll, benefits and pension

    administration related matters, track and problem-solve issues, and optimizeeffectiveness of processes and systems c co-ordination and oversight for flexiblebenefits and defined pension administration through outsourced providers

    Participate on a team or lead projects using project management principles toachieve optimized payroll, benefits, and pension integration while working closelywith other areas of HR to achieve HR strategic priorities, serve as SME (SubjectMatter Expert) and recommend best practices in areas such as payroll, benefit and

    pension administration to improve integration of processes and increase systemeffectiveness

    Maintain plan provisions for benefits, monitor financial performance, benchmarkcompetiveness of benefits and pension plans, support annual enrolment processand implement changes to programs and practices

    Maintain plan provisions for pension, coordinate compliance calendar, includingtimely filing of pension valuations, and other pension-related filings, reporting andauditing, and responses to regulatory inquiries

    Provide back-up support to Pay Analyst, ensuring employees are paid correctlyand on time and all payroll transactions are accurately reported and remitted.

    Assist Pay Analyst with accurate preparation of all payroll year-end reporting andtax filings, including T4 summaries, pension statement data, and benefitscontributions and deductions, ensuring adherence to all internal financial controlstandards, applicable regulatory requirements and internal/external auditrequirements.

    Qualifications and Experience: Strong knowledge of payroll, pension and benefits compliance, including income

    tax, CPP, EI, pension regulatory requirements, and HR-related legislation such asemployment standards and worker's compensation, familiarity with collectiveagreements an asset

    Solid understanding of benefit and pension programs, plan requirementsdocuments and data file interfaces, generally acquired through several yearsmanaging pension and benefit programs

    Advanced HRIS reporting and other computer systems skills, particularly with MSOffice Suite, of applications

    Progressive payroll management experience an asset, preferably in both hourlyand salaried environment, with knowledge of time and attendance, HRIS andaccounting systems

    Effective analytical, problem-solving and project management skills with anattention to details

    Able to frame up complex issues with actionable solutions Multi-tasking within a fast paced, high volume, demanding environment Knowledge of best practices and initiative to seek out and manage changePosition Primary Location: Kingston, Ontario
