The BTZ Cologne is an institution of vocational rehabilitation according to §35 SGB IX (social security code)

Target Group: Grown-ups with psychiatric disabilities

(Psychiatric Diagnosis [ICD-10])

Leading Principles I

The core concepts of the BTZ Cologne are action-orientation and creating a real-life hands-on experience

Starting with a half-day, the working hours are gradually increased to reach a full-day after three months

The action-orientation aspect is supported by occupational therapists and career advisors and is accompanied by psycho-social assistance

A total of 467 expressions of interest were responded to with supply of information on the offerings of the BTZ

74 information sessions were conducted in medical centres (consulting, rehabilitation planning)

290 counselling sessions with inclusion of the external supporters

152 participants started training 145 participants finished training The average training took 9 months
