    COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS COMMITTEE

    In an effort to align and support secondary efforts to support college and career readiness in theMarysville School District, a committee will be constituted from the On-Time Graduation Task-Force(OTGTF), Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee, Advance Placement Coordinators, andSecondary Counselors to meet the following objectives:

    To bring coherence to the work going on in the district for college and career readiness; To determine which efforts are effective and sustainable, and to winnow out those that are not;

    To determine the focus of our secondary programs so we can streamline and bring clarity to theinitiatives started.

    The secondary Learning and Teaching team is currently developing a plan to determine the process foridentifying who will be a part of this committee, to revisit plans developed from previous years work, and toprioritize the work to be accomplished this year. To the right are some of most current efforts happening inthe Marysville School District.

    As you know technology is amajor need in MSD. The aging ofour infrastructure and the lack of

    wireless access in many places are

    a few examples of the diresituation that exists.

    It is highly likely that a citizenmeasure on tech will go before thevoters next February.

    We need for our staffandschool community to begindeveloping a vision of what ispossible in a school district todayand in the future.

    As a small step toward this, weare asking principals to attend the

    TechFest Conference, a free event

    that will be held at Tulalip Resorton September 26.

    We'd also like you to recruit astaffmember to attend--we'llprovide a sub--and if possible, aPTA leader.

    Information on conferenceThe link to register is: http://www.microk12.com/techfest/

    AMO DATA IS AVAILABLE

    AMO data graphs for all schools are now available. For middle and elementary schools,the whole school view is available, and does include historic data to track student progressacross grade levels. If you would like any data broken down into sub categories let the Cincoknow.
