PERIMETER INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEMS

Perimeter intrusion detection systems are conceived to detect unauthorized access long before an intruder has entered the protected area. The advantage is twofold: on the one hand, these systems represent an important deterrent factor, discouraging the majority of intrusion attempts in the bud; on the other hand, they give more time to undertake the necessary defensive actions.

Protecting the perimeter of a property requires prompt, accurate and reliable detection systems. To achieve this aim, DEA Security has designed sophisticated and innovative intrusion detection technologies, which are patented at international level.

DEA Security’s R&D activity has always been focused on designing high-quality intrusion detection systems for the protection of perimeters of any size in military, industrial, commercial and residential projects.

This commitment together with the extensive experience in the outdoor security market have led to the creation of a wide range of products with high-level performance and reliability:

SERIR P2P is an advanced perimeter intrusion detection system with Point ID technology for the protection of soft metal fences and semi-rigid panels. Even if it is suitable for sites of any dimensions, SERIR P2P is ideal for securing big and complex compounds, where civil engineering operations can be remarkably simplified.

The system employs sensors with embedded electronics which detect cut, climb and break-through attempts on fences provided in rolls (soft or welded meshes) or semi-rigid panels.

Since it operates along the boundary of an estate, SERIR P2P can offer a round-the-clock protection, enabling the people inside the property to move freely.

The system can be divided into customized alarm zones (logical lines), which can be also composed of a single sensor, in order to suit them to the configuration of the perimeter and to couple them with CCTV systems (if any).

Among the most important SERIR P2P features, we can mention the capability of identifying the single sensor under alarm, the management of up to 500 sensors under a single Control Unit, the thermal and magnetic tamper detection, the prompt diagnosis of possible failures along the sensor-string and the capability of interfacing IP networks.

P2P THE COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM1.1

SERIR P2P system is composed of sensors, electronic boards, cables and other components manufactured by DEA Security according to strict quality standards. The most important components of SERIR P2P are the sensors and the processing boards, which are the result of a long process of research and development and benefit from a continuous technological upgrading.

1.1.1 THE SENSORSSERIR P2P employs Point ID piezodynamic sensors. Provided with embedded analysis unit, these detectors perceive the vibrations of the metal fence while an intrusion attempt for cut, climb or breakthrough is occurring.

SERIR P2P sensors are featured by an antiremoval electronic device which detects and signals the removal of the sensor from the fence to which it is fixed. That device also allows you to check, while installing it, that each sensor is well fixed to the structure to be protected. The sensors also contain thermal and magnetic devices which identify the most sophisticated tamper attempts, such as those actions aiming at disabling the sensors by exposing them to extreme temperatures.

Spefically designed for outdoor use, SERIR P2P sensors have a high tolerance towards the atmospheric events to which a fence is typically exposed. Their sensitive element is sealed with polyurethane cast resin and protected by a heavy-duty polyamide housing resisting UV rays, oil, hydrocarbons and extreme temperatures (-40 to +80°C).

The piezodynamic technology along with the sophisticated detection algorithms make the system highly tolerant to adverse weather conditions (wind, rain, snow and sudden

Sporadic cutsSERIR P2P sensors have a special fuction which allow you to discriminate the so-called “sporadic cuts”, that is attacks against the fence performed with single actions over time.This type of intrusion attempt is the most insidious one since it aims at making a hole on the fence by gradually cutting the latter over time.

Self-diagnosis functionA self-diagnosis function, which is implemented in each sensor, periodically performs automatic tests to check the status of both the electronic part and the piezodynamic transducer. It also allows you to discriminate possible degrading factors before a failure may occur, making the on site periodic inspections unnecessary.

changes in temperature) and man-made factors such as nearby heavy traffic roads and railways. The tolerance towards environmental disturbances is so high that these sensors can be even installed on fences covered with climbing evergreen vegetation.

The sensors are supplied in prewired strings (sensor-strings) composed of 25 detectors maximum (for a nominal coverage of 75 metres) and provided with easy-plug connectors (please see below). The cable connecting the sensors is produced according to strict specifications for outdoor use and ensures a very high resistance to UV rays.

The flexibility and modularity of the prewired sensor-strings enable you to adapt the SERIR P2P system to the conformation of the ground and the direction of the perimeter, making it possible to follow bends and differences in level, to avoid obstacles and overcome possible interruptions along the fence. If a sensor or its connection cable are subjected to intentional or accidental damage, the full functionality of the system can be quickly recovered by performing a simple electric junction by means of special sealing kits (see Chapt. 1.2.2) supplied by DEA Security.

The sensor-strings are available in three standard lengths: 75 metres (25 sensors), 30 metres (10 sensors) and 15 metres (5 sensors), respectively with part number LN25-SRP2P-300, LN10-SRP2P-300 and LN5-SRP2P-300. Sensor-strings with customized length (less than 75 metres) can be also purchased by using part number SN-SRP2P-300. The spacing between the sensors is again 3 metres.

Distributed intelligenceEach sensor is provided with a microprocessor which allows it to independently analyse the analog signals and send the alarm report (if any) to the controller board. The electronics inside the sensors also allows the system to univocally identify them and locate the single detector under alarm.

Easy- plug connectorsSERIR P2P factory prewired sensor-strings are provided with, on both their ends, female circular plugs which are joined to special junction and termination devices. This wiring system avoids on site soldering and sealing and makes the execution of the electric connection very quick, mistake-free and immune to oxidation processes (IP68 rate).

Nerve centre of SERIR P2P system, the Control Unit is composed of a polyester cabinet (part number BOX-P2P) preassembled with a Controller electronic board (part number SC-SRP2P-CTRL), a stabilized power supply unit (part number AL-P2P-3014), a 24V battery pack (composed of two batteries with part number BT-P2P-12V), optional relay expansion boards (part number SC-DN-ER16), a shock sensor and a tamper switch.

The Controller board, provided with a 32-bit microprocessor, manages two communication buses and up to 250 Serir P2P sensors for each bus. Upon the first configuration of the system, the Control Unit automatically identifies all the sensors that are linked to the two buses and sorts them by using a DEA patented algorithm. The relevant service software (please see paragraph 1.1.3) makes it possible to distribute the sensors along 64 alarm logical lines and to assign the latter to a maximum of 128 relays for alarm, tamper and other signals such as power failure, link failure and data bus failure. Both procedures can be automatically performed by the system, saving time during the start-up process.

The Controller board is provided with 8 opto-isolated digital inputs and 5 relay outputs. By using special relay expansion boards, it is possible to add up to 128 programmable external outputs.The Controller is also equipped with three different digital communication interfaces: a USB port for local service; a DEA NET terminal board to connect the system to DEA proprietary communication bus; an Ethernet port (RJ45) to connect the system over IP network. The latter can be also used both for remote service (also via wireless by means of a Wi-Fi router) and to interface the system to DEA MAP supervision software or to 3rd party software.

The signals can be also sent to an alarm control panel through the relay outputs on the Controller, on the relay expansion boards (if any) or on the DEA NET control boards.

All the signals coming from the sensors are stored inside an internal memory: if necessary, DEA Security's engineers can carry out an accurate analysis of the logs in order to determine the cause triggering the alarm.

1.1.3 THE SERVICE SOFTWAREThe Control Unit is supplied with a service software for Microsoft Windows which allows you to configure and monitor, through a user-friendly graphical interface, the whole system. The software makes it possible to analyse the alarm logs, to acquire and sort the field sensors, create logical groups of sensors and lines, calibrate the detectors and program the relay outputs.

SERIR P2P can be also configured either in an automated way (please see box “Autoconfiguration of the system”) or manually: you can add or remove sensors, distribute the sensors on logical lines, group the lines into areas and sectors, enable or disable the signals per alarm type, program the relays on board the Controller or the ones on the external expansion boards.

The main window of the service software provides an overview of the most important system information: the status of the sensors, of the inputs, of the relay outpus (including expansion boards), of the tamper switch and the backup battery; the power supply parametres of both the controller and the bus; the link quality of each line configured; the latest events stored. A lot of information is graphically displayed using LEDs and virtual dashboards or bar graphs. The “graph area” in the middle of the main window can display, upon user's choice, the status of all the sensors from a single bus and the relevant level of the analog signals; the link quality of each sensor; the status of the external expansion boards (if any). The sensor graph is also available in a 3D version which, thanks to its perspective view and the use of a chromatic gradient (from green to red and related to the signal intensity), provides a more accurate overview of the status of the field sensors.

By clicking twice on a sensor or on a line you enter the relevant configuration window, from which you can modify, among other things, the security level and the detection sensitivity. The configurations can be then saved to a PC so as to upload them any time it should be necessary. The log can be also saved to file or can be sent directly by e-mail: in this way the installer or the DEA's technicians can display and analyse the logs to understand the cause triggering the alarm.

Autoconfiguration of the systemThe automatic system configuration enables you to save time during the system start-up. It has the task to: a) acquire all the sensors and the expansion

boards (if any) connected to the relevant buses;

b) automatically sort the sensors depending on their physical position;

c)distribute the sensors – according to different criteria selected by the user - on one or more logical lines;

d) assign the logical lines to the available relays.

HOW TO DESIGN A SERIR P2P SYSTEM1.2

1.1.4 THE CONNECTION CABLES SERIR P2P connection cables are produced according to DEA SECURITY's specifications and are certified for outdoor use. CV-P2P cable, supplied in 50m and 150m reels, is used to:

1. connect the Control Unit to CVINL-P2P cable (please see below); 2. to repair a sensor-string; 3. to make a bypass to overcome possible differences in level along the fence. A graphic illustration of the

above mentioned uses can be found in section “Application Examples”.

CVINL-P2P is instead a piece of cable 5 metres long which is provided, at one end, with an IP68 easy-plug connector for a quick connection to the first connectorized sensor-string of a bus. If the Control Unit is more than 5 metres away from the first sensor-string, CVINL-P2P cable must be extended by means of CV-P2P cable to reach the needed length. The junction between the two cables must be executed with JBX-P2P case (please see page 14)

Both cables are composed of 4 twisted tinned copper wires, insulated with high-density polyethylene jacket. All the elements are laid up in round shape with polyester foil and protected by a special PVC jacket, colour black, UV and oil resistant and flame retardant.

1.2.1 DIMENSIONINGWhen dimensioning a perimeter, you must take into account that each Control Unit manages up to 500 sensors on two communication buses, for a total coverage of 1,5 km (3-metre spacing between the sensors). SERIR P2P is not affected by possible discontinuities in the fence features: the sensors, provided with embedded electronics, can be calibrated individually or per logical line in order to adapt their sensitivity to the specific section of fence on which they are installed.

1.2.2 INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEMFor a correct system installation, just few simple recommendations are to be followed. The sensors can be installed on different types of fence, even pre-existent, provided that the fence is in good condition, well taut (for chain link mesh fences, the use of at least 3 stretching wires is highly recommended) and that it has a minimum height from ground of 2,5 m. When a new fence is erected, we suggest using a welded mesh fence provided in rolls having a height of at least 2,5 m, mesh dimensions not wider than 50 x 50 cm and a wire diameter not less than 3 mm. These features ensure the best transmission of the vibrations maximizing the system performance. Both for a new and a pre-existent fence, we recommend integrating the lower section of the fence into a concrete curb to avoid an easy lifting of the fence itself.

The installation of the sensor is simplified by a fixing system (please see picture above) composed of two metal nuts: the toothed nut is placed on the external side of the fence whilst the smooth nut is placed on the internal side; the two nuts must be screwed together and then the sensor must be fixed to the smooth nut by means of a socket head cap screw.

P2P To fix the connection cable to the fence, UV resistant and stainless steel tooth tie-wraps are used. Their part

number is FPM-100.

The connectorized sensor-strings are easily joined by inserting the female easy-plug connectors of the sensor-strings into the male easy-plug connectors of the JDVP-P2P connectorized device. Terminating the last sensor-string of the bus is also easy and consists of connecting the female easy-plug connector to the male easy-plug connector of the TDV-P2P termination device.

The electric connection of unconnectorized junctions and terminations (if needed) must be soft soldered and then sealed with RP-100 two-component polyurethane cast resin inside JBX-P2P junction cases and TBX-P2P termination cases. One RP-100 cast resin pack can seal two junction/termination cases.

As mentioned on the previous pages, the Control Unit manages up to 500 sensors on two different communication buses: a single Control Unit can therefore cover up to 1.500 metres of perimeter (with sensors installed every 3 metres).

When installing the Control Unit (part number UC-SRP2P), you must take into account that the distance between the latter and the last sensor of each bus cannot be more than 800 metres. Each Control Unit must be supplied by 230Vac and by copper or, through a special converter, by optical fibre data line.

If the distance between the Control Unit and the first sensor-string of the bus is no more than 5 metres, the connection between them is made by using CVINL-P2P initial string connectorized cable (please see Chapt. 4, “Example 1”). If the distance is more than 5 metres, CVINL-P2P cable must be extended with a piece of CV-P2P cable by making a junction using JBX-P2P unconnectorized case (please see Chapt. 4, “Example 2”).

The alarm, failure and tamper signals sent by the sensors to the Control Unit can be centralized either by means of DEA NET proprietary communication network or over an IP network. As a matter of fact SERIR P2P Controller board is provided with both a terminal board for the connection to DEA NET bus and an RJ45 port for the connection over IP.

The RJ45 port on board the SERIR P2P Controller sends all the signals over LAN/WAN Ethernet using a standard IP protocol. The Ethernet interface transmits all the alarm signals to DEA MAP software or to 3rd party control systems. All the information sent over IP is encrypted, however you need to safeguard the security of the link from any type of attack.

To share the inputs and the outputs of the Controller board over IP and make them available in another physical place, ETHERNET SHARER software (please see Sect. 2.2.6.2) can be used. This software enables the integration of DEA systems with 3rd management software.

As a physical link you can use FTP cable cat. 5 or optic fiber by means of a media converter. If FTP cable cat. 5 is used, you have to take into account that the distance between the Control Unit and the first point of access to the Ethernet (switch or router) must be no more than 100 metres.

DEA NET is a high-speed bidirectional communication network interfacing Dea Security perimeter intrusion detection systems to an alarm control panel or to a supervision software. It can also integrate 3rd party detection systems into a unique perimeter protection system. DEA NET system is composed of several elements, both hardware and software, which will be described below.

2.2.1 THE NETWORK CONTROLLERSDEA NET uses special electronic controllers which manage the whole network. These devices gather the alarm, tamper and failure signals raised by the processing boards and send them to the alarm control panel or to security management software as DEA MAP (please see Chapter 3).

To design the communication network, two types of controllers are available: DN CONTROLLER (part number SC-DN-CTRL), which uses DEA NET proprietary protocol, and DN ETHERNET CONTROLLER (part number SC-DN-ETHCTRL), which communicates over Ethernet by means of TCP/IP and UDP/IP standard protocols. Since SERIR P2P Controller board is equipped with an Ethernet interface, the use of DN ETHERNET CONTROLLER is generally unnecessary. Therefore the present document will deal with DN CONTROLLER only.

DN CONTROLLER is generally placed inside the control room or near the alarm control panel and can manage up to 100 processing boards and 256 programmable relay outputs. It is supplied with a service software licence for Microsoft Windows which allows you, from a PC connected via RS-232 serial port, to configure the Controller, to view a tree diagram of the processing boards connected and download the events stored in the latter.

To sum up, DN CONTROLLER makes it possible to: � take the alarm signals through special relay expansion boards (DN ER16) for the connection and the

integration with the alarm control panel or with videosurveillance systems (CCTV); � set, via software, all the parameters of the processing boards placed inside the field cabinet; � use DEA MAP supervision software; � integrate DEA systems with 3rd party supervision software by means of DN MANAGER interface board

or DEA MAP DLL software library.

2.2.2 DN HT REPEATER NETWORK NODEThe centralization with DN CONTROLLER involves the use of DN HT REPEATER network node (part no SC-DN-HTRPT), which is an interface device between the controller and the processing boards. It creates two different serial connection lines: a full-duplex one, for the communication with DN CONTROLLER and other DN HT REPEATERs (if any); and a half-duplex one (bus), for the communication with the processing boards.

DN HT REPEATER also has the task to amplify and regenerate the signals over DEA NET, so as to cover longer distances. The maximum distance between the two DN HT REPEATERs or between the DN CONTROLLER and the first DN HT REPEATER is 2 km with FTP cable cat. 5, 5 km with multi-mode fiber and 50 km with single-mode fiber (a special converter is needed to use the optical fiber). The maximum length of the bus between an HT REPEATER and the farthest processing board, which can be designed with an FTP cable cat. 5 or with a twisted pair cable for EIA RS-485 applications, is instead 1,5 km.

DN HT REPEATER is also available in a high-insulation version, named DN HT REPEATER AS (part no SC-DN-HTRPTAS) which has been designed for environments highly disturbed by electromagnetic emissions. Its logical functions are the same as the ones of the standard model.

2.2.3 EXPANSION AND INTERFACE BOARDS

2.2.3.1 DN ER16 relay expansion board (part number SC-DN-ER16)This board allows you to transfer the signals coming from DEA NET on C/NC/NO contacts. It provides 16 relay outputs which can be configured via software from DN CONTROLLER.

DN ER16 board allows you to interface DEA detection systems with the alarm control panel or videosurveillance systems (if any) and to operate actuators placed along the perimeter reached by DEA NET.

2.2.3.2 DN I/O interface board (part number SC-DN-IO)This board allows you to send over DEA NET the alarm signals generated by stand-alone, 3rd party devices equipped with relay outputs, such as reed switches and IR/MW barriers. DN I/O provides auxiliary relay outputs which allow you to send commands to the equipment in the field.

DN I/O board provides 4 triple balanced NC inputs and 4 digital inputs which can be configured via software. They also provide 2 relay outputs, which can be both configured by means of DN CONTROLLER.

A special version of this board, DN I/O LP (part no SC-DN-IOLP) is also available. It can be programmed to perform logical operations on the inputs (physical and virtual) by means of Ladder Logic standard language. The result of the logical operation can be used both to activate local physical relays and to send fully configurable signals to DEA NET.

It is an interface board which allows you to send and receive signals over DEA NET by means of a text-based protocol, making it possible the integration of DEA Security detection systems with 3rd party management software.

DN MANAGER board has to be connected to DN CONTROLLER and communicates with 3rd party software by means of an RS-485 full-duplex serial port.

The integration of DEA Security detection systems with 3rd party software can be also performed through DEA MAP DLL dynamic library software.

2.2.4 DN DEA POWER SUPPLY UNIT (PART NO AL-DN-DEAPW)

DN DEA POWER is a microprocessor stabilized linear power supply unit which can be connected over DEA NET. Unlike a normal power supply unit, DN DEA POWER sends, over DEA NET, the critical information about the supply of the system, such as output voltage and current, backup battery voltage and current, battery recharge status, mains voltage, digital inputs and serial link status. By means of DEA NET, this information can be monitored in real time from a remote station.

DN DEA POWER is equipped with 4 programmable digital inputs which enable it to perform additional functions, such as the management of tamper-proof devices (tamper and burglary-proof). It is also provided with an event digital memory which can be useful to determine the cause of possible failures along the power supply circuit.

2.2.5 DEA NET CONNECTION CABLE (PART NO DN-CV) As mentioned on the previous pages, the connection between DN CONTROLLER and DN HT REPEATER and the one between two or more DN HT REPEATERs can be executed by using an FTP cable cat. 5 or superior. DEA Security can supply an FTP cable (part number CV-DN) which complies with TIA/EIA 568 cat. 5e standard. In addition to the high quality of its components, this cable is featured by a double thermoplastic sheath and a rodent-proof stainless steel braid armour. CV-DN cable is available in reels of 250 and 500 metres.

2.2.6 THE SOFTWARE

2.2.6.1 DEA MAP DLL software library (part number SW-DM-DLL)DEA MAP DLL is a software library for Microsof Windows which allows you to integrate the signals raising from DEA systems with 3rd party software. When used in combination with DN CONTROLLER, the library needs DEA MAP SERVER (part no SW-DM-SRV) interface software.

2.2.6.2 ETHERNET SHARER centralization software (cod. SW-ETHSHR)ETHERNET SHARER software allows you to share over IP the inputs and the outputs of one or more DEA Security devices, such as processing and expansion boards. For example, it can be used to replicate the status of the relay outputs of the P2P Controller in a place different than the one where the Control Unit is situated: to do that, you use one or more DN ER16 connected to a DN ETHERNET CONTROLLER board.

2.2.7 CENTRALIZATION SCHEMESThanks to the versatility of DN HT REPEATER network node, DN CONTROLLER allows you to design DEA NET communication network with a distributed topology, with a star topology or with a hybrid topology (the latter is a combination of the first two topologies).

In the distributed topology, full-duplex DEA NET line is used as a communication backbone to connect DN CONTROLLER, placed inside the centralization cabinet (“box 0”), with the DN HT REPEATERs placed inside each field cabinet. Each DN HT REPEATER creates an independent bus for each field cabinet.

In the star topology more communication buses are created. They come out of the centralization cabinet and branch out to the different field cabinets. In this case all DN HT REPEATERs used to realize each bus derivation are placed inside the centralization cabinet. You can connect no more than 16 processing boards to each branch of the bus; in addition, each branch can cover a maximum distance of 1.5 km.

DEA MAP is a software for the supervision and the management of one or more DEA Security detection systems connected to DEA NET centralization system. It integrates, in a single management system, both the perimeter intrusion detection system and the videosurveillance system (CCTV), displaying the protected area on a graphical map. This user-friendly software allows you the immediate identification of the zone concerned by a possible intrusion.

DEA MAP also allows you the direct interaction with the processing boards present in the field and the management, by means of DN I/O interface boards, of third-party devices provided with relay outputs (e.g. magnetic contacts and IR/MW barriers).

Depending on the version, this software provides a comprehensive management of IP cameras and their video streamings, which can be recorded, archived and replayed. Thanks to the Video Wall feature, up to 16 video streamings can be viewed at the same time, each of them on an independent window.

DEA MAP software can be used on different terminals (multi-terminal mode) and allows you to set up different privileges for each user (multi-user).

3.1.1 THE GRAPHICAL MAPThe main window of the software displays a graphical map which enables you to locate and identify, by means of icons and other graphical elements, the alarm zones and the cameras. The icons can be assigned to single devices in the field, such as sensors, sensor-strings and fixed or mobile cameras, and their colour shows the real-time status.

DEA MAP can manage multilevel maps, by selecting them from a tree-view menu which is organized into folders and sub-folders. Each map can be linked to other maps displaying different areas of the protected site, e.g. a specific floor of a building.

DEA MAP can import maps from the most common vectorial and bitmap formats.

3.1.2 THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DETECTION SYSTEMSDEA MAP allows you to manage systems of any complexity through a modern and user-friendly graphical interface. By software, it is also possible to add, modify and configure the alarm zones, by grouping them according to logical criteria (e.g. depending on the type of access to protect) or topographical criteria (e.g. all the sensors from the same storey of a building).

In addition, DEA MAP allows you to disable or bypass sensor-strings, sensor-modules or groups of sensors and to plan these actions at set times.

Exclusive feature of DEA MAP management software is the possibility of varying, with a simple mouse click, the detection capability of the whole system or part of it, so as to immediately react to any sudden change in the security risk level of the protected site. This capability acknowledges the alarm level standards (green, yellow and red) accepted by the international security agencies.

3.1.3 ALARM HANDLING For each alarm event specific actions and customized audio/video warnings can be programmed:

� logging of the alarm signals and of the user's actions � automatic recall of the associated camera stream � video streaming recording

The alarms can be sorted following a priority criterion and the installer can define custom user's actions.

Both the alarm log and the system warnings provide advanced searching, sorting, grouping and statistical analysisfunctions. The logs can be saved as a Microsof Excel file.

3.1.4 CCTV SYSTEM MANAGEMENTDEA MAP provides a complete management of the videosurveillance system: remote control of the IP cameras (dome and PTZ) and their integration into the graphical map of the perimeter. The video streamings can be viewed on the user's request or on alarm event and recorded for a playback viewing. Thanks to the Videwall feature, 16 video streamings can be viewed at the same time, each of them on an independent window.

The video recording can be continuous or can occur at predefined times or activated by an alarm event. By clicking on an alarm event in the log window, the video streamings or the recording of the concerned camera can be viewed immediately.

Three versions of DEA MAP are available: BASIC and ADVANCED, respectively for the management of small and medium/large sites, and FULL for complex sites.

DEA MAP BASIC displays the functionalities of a graphical map, without the video management. It is therefore suitable for supervising sites with no videosurveillance system or where the latter is managed by third-party software.

DEA MAP ADVANCED includes the management of the videosurveillance system, to record, file and reproduce the IP camera video streamings.

DEA MAP FULL, besides displaying the same features as the ADVANCED version, can manage a greater number of graphical elements and video streamings, can support more than 32 network controllers and share the video recording among different video servers (Load Balancing and Failover).

One communication bus (the Control unit manages two of them) supports up to 250 sensors. Consequently, on each single bus can be connected up to 10 sensors-strings prewired with 25 sensors or any combination of sensor-strings prewired with 25, 10 and 5 sensors up to the maximum capacity of the bus.

DEA Security supplies prewired sensor-strings up to 75 metres long (25 sensors) for reasons relating to packaging and logistics. If the sensors are installed at less than 3 metres from one another, the distance covered by the prewired string decreases: for example, one LN25-SRP2P-300 string with sensors placed every 2 metres covers a 50m length.

The prewired sensor-string must be connected to the UC-SRP2P Control Unit by means of CV-P2P and/or CVINL-P2P cable.

If the sensors are installed at less than 3 metres from one another, the distance covered by the prewired string will decrease accordingly.

The maximum number of SN-SRP2P-300 sensors which can be ordered per prewired string is 4: these customized strings (from 1 to 4 sensors) allow you to obtain, if used singularly or joined to the LN-SRP2P-300 strings, any length different from the one of the standard strings.

Since they are not provided with easy-plug connectors, the strings composed of SN-SRP2P-300 sensors must be joined and/or terminated by means of JBX-P2P and TBX-P2P cases.
