Services by Ombudsman to claim PPI
It may happen that the customer or the borrower of a bank loan has mis-sold PPI attached
to them and they are completely oblivious of the scenario. These are meant to help people
pay back the debts to the credit card companies or bank from where they had once taken a
loan in case they are unable to pay their debts due to accident, illness, loss of job or death.
But many a times these PPI policies are sold to them without their knowledge in the form of
a payment cover to the credit products.
Of all insurance companies many claims are met and many claims are rejected and in case to
claim PPI there are more rejected claims than approved ones. It may happen that the bank
from where one has taken out a loan once has rejected their claim to PPI. It is the general
case but it is not the end of it as most of the people might assume and leave their claim to
PPI. One can take their claim to FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service). The ombudsman can
then order the bank to pay up. One can avail the ombudsman service for free by the free PPI
claim form even if they had already used it to complain to the firm or bank that sold the PPI.
It is important that an individual contacts the ombudsman service within six months of
receiving a final response from the firm or else the ombudsman service may not be able to
deal with the complaint.
