SERVICING TPMS If your vehicle’s instrument panel includes this symbol it is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. What is TPMS? A Tire Pressure Monitoring System continually monitors a vehicle’s tire pressure and notifies the driver if pressure falls 25% below the required inflation. Information is sent via radio frequency from a tire mounted transmier to a vehicle’s ECM (Electronic Control Module). All 2008 and newer model year vehicles manufactured for sale in the U.S. have TPMS. Vehicles older than 2008 may have TPMS.
