Introduction   to  

SharePoint  2010

Dates:    Wednesdays,  September  19–  November  7,  2012  (No  class  on  September  26)

Time:    6:00–9:00  p.m.

Fee:  $595

7  weeks,  2.1  CEU’s

 In  this  hands-­on  course  students  can  learn  how  to  navigate  through  the  SharePoint  environment  and  create  their  own  subsites  for  specific  work  teams.  Students  can  find  out  how  to  use,  modify,  and  create  SharePoint  lists  (such  as  announcements,  calendars,  and  contacts)  to  stay  connected  to  other  group  members  and  more  effectively  share  data.  They  can  discover  how  to  create  and  use  libraries  to  store,  retrieve,  and  share  documents  on  the  SharePoint  server  rather  than  a  local  hard  drive.  In  addition,  students  can  learn  how  to  improve  site  navigation  by  modifying  the  Quick  Launch  and  Top  Link  bar,  create  lists  based  on  Excel  and  Access  data  and  link  SharePoint  content  to  Excel  and  Access  files.

General  working  knowledge  of  Windows

SharePoint  Designer  is  used  to  create  Web  pages  as  well  as  extend  the  capabilities  of  SharePoint  server.    In  this  hands-­on  course  students  will  create  reusable  and  modular  Web  sites  for  use  in  intranet,  extranet,  or  Internet  scenarios.  Students  will  learn  how  to  manage  access  to  information  stored  within  a  SharePoint  environment,  how  to  perform  common  object  model  tasks,  and  how  to  create  Web  parts  to  customize  user  interfaces.      Students  will  also  explore  Master  Pages  and  how  they  are  responsible  for  the  consistent  layout  of  SharePoint  sites  

and  pages.
