Father I thank for the blood of Jesus that was shed for my sins. Your word says that I can come boldly before the throne of grace, that I may obtain mercy, and find grace to help me in my time of need. Hello there!

As always I am grateful that you purchased this issue of the Sho-far Magazine. I hope that you are encouraged by the contents

of the Winner’s edition and that your spirits soar like eagles. You know when we are waiting for God’s perfect timing most of us tend to get a little impatient. Patience is a spiritual fruit, and scripture makes it clear that God is pleased with us when we display this virtue: those who wait “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him, For God is good to those who wait for Him. And our patience often reveals the degree of trust we have in God’s timing. We must remember that God operates ac-cording to His perfect and foreordained eternal schedule, not ours. We should take great comfort in knowing that, when we wait on the Lord, we receive divine energy and strength. “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” God wants us to live by discernment—revelation knowl-edge, not head knowledge. It’s difficult to exercise dis-cernment if you’re always trying to figure out everything. But when you’re willing to say, “God, I can’t figure this out, so I’m going to trust You to give me revelation that

will set me free,” then you can be comfortable in spite of not knowing. Trusting God often requires not knowing how God is going to accomplish what needs to be done and not knowing when He will do it. He uses times of waiting to stretch our faith in Him and to bring about change and growth in our lives. When we question God’s timing, it is often because we are looking for guidance or deliverance from a difficult situation. We can rest assured, however, that our heavenly Father knows exactly where we are in our lives at every moment. He either put us there or is allowing us to be there, all for His own perfect purpose. In fact, God often uses trials to strengthen our patience, al-lowing our Christian faith to mature and become complete (James 1:3-4). And we know that all things-including difficult trials-work out for the good of those who love God (Romans 8:28). God does indeed hear the cries of His children and will answer those cries according to His perfect timing. “A righteous man may have many troubles; the Lord delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19). The plans God has for His children are good plans-to help us, not hurt us (Jeremiah 29:11). Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD! P. K. The shofar blast marks the beginning of a period of amnesty which is known as The Ten Days of Repentance. Repentance is based on the fact that since humanity has been given free-will, and our actions are not pre-determined, we must take responsiblity for our actions. The ability to repent teaches us that our future is not bound by our past and that by chang-ing our behaviour we have the ability to change our past. When the Jews accepted the Torah at Mount Sinai, the sound of the shofar is described as“continuously increased and was very great” (Exodus 19:19). The shofar serves to remind us of the revelation at Mt. Sinai and therefore to renew our commitment to the lord and to accept that Torah morality is absolute and God given - not relative, nor does it depend on human understanding. The prophets called out to the Jewish People and aroused them to improve their ways. The shofar reminds us of the admonitions of the prophets and their calls to repentance. We should be aware of the fact that God communicated with us, via the prophets, and displayed through them His desire to perfect us and not to punish us.

The shofar reminds us to pray for the rebuilding of the Temple where trumpets and shofars were sounded. Just as God manifests His presence in the world in specific places like the Temple in Jerusalem. He also manifests His presence at special times, such as the Ten Days of Repentance.

The ram’s horn reminds us of the Binding of Isaac when Abraham demonstrated his abso-lute faith in Hashem by being prepared to sacrifice his son. God demonstrated His absolute love for Abraham by having him sacrifice a ram in his place.

It allows one to dwell upon fear of punishment, to progress from there to fear of doing evil and then to fear of God. Finally one arrives at the feeling of awe of God.

Shofar blasts were sounded preceding a war - to rally the troops for action and to call the people together for prayer and repentance. The shofaris therefore like an air raid siren that alerts us to danger, and summons us to action.

P. K. How in the world did you lose all the baby weight?FANTASIA: I had to get in the gym and work it off! For me it was not about looks at first, I wanted to be the role model for my family for a change in our eating habits. Many of my cousins are on high-blood pressure pills and they are too young for that. Southern folk are known for eating foods that taste good but in the long run take a toll on your body. We can eat good, but not so much of the fried foods. No more of the fat back in the greens (LOL).

My grandmother she is a blessed woman who is still living despite all the things she has been through. She has diabe-tes, and has had two heart attacks. I said to my mother and my cousins, “Let’s stand up and do different” let’s make that change for grandma, if we eat better then she can eat better. I am all about health and being around for a very long time. I love the fact that I can look in the mirror and feel confident, feel sexy, feel fine.

P. K. And that you are, you truly look amazing.FANTASIA: Thanks Babes.

P. K. Did you ever believe that you would be as successful as you are today?FANTASIA: I always dreamed it. At the age of five I was always dreaming of being on stage and singing before thou-sands of people. My brother and I watched every award show from Gospel, Rock, Pop, R&B, we watched them all. I was born into a musical family, I am a music baby. My moth-er sings, but on my father’s side everybody sings, my first cousins are Kci & Jo-Jo (Jodeci) so it was something that I always wanted to do and I knew that I would do because

that is what I was most passionate about. Even in school you had girls that wanted to run track, cheer, play basketball, you know everybody wanted to be something different. I was so passionate about music at a very early age. P. K. Wow! I believe if you can see it (envision it) you can achieve it! The lord placed those visions and dreams inside of you and it is inspiring not only to me but to millions of people to see you actually live it out.FANTASIA: Thank you! I’m glad you said that P.K. I always tell people, everybody is destined to do something. God has already planned it out for you. For me to be able to do what I was always dreaming and having visions about performing before thousands of people that started at such an early age for me, at the age of five it’s crazy! P. K. We serve an incredible God, who does the unthinkable. The title of your current project “Side effects of you” is hott! How did you come up with this title?FANTASIA: It took a while, I always like to pray about my titles be-cause I want them to mean something and come from my heart. A lot times it may come from something I am watching, or while riding down the street I may see a sign, but this one didn’t come as easy as the others. We did a song on the album titled “Side Effects of You” and that song is very personal, very deep, it’s one of those personal moments that I went through and I decided to share and speak about it myself and not allow anybody else to speak it for me. I felt with this album and everything that I spoke about lyrically, musically and how we came up with everything it was a side effect, the lady that had been born from all of the things I went through in respect to relationships, friendships, family, and the industry. I said, you know what this should be the title “Side Effects of You,” I am talking to everything and everybody I have dealt with that have been good, bad, whatever the case may be. They turned me into this bold, confident woman that I am today so I knew it had to be “Side Effects of You.” I’m not just speaking to one person, I speaking to all of those different situations that I dealt with. P. K. Wow! that’s how God does it when He gives you a title. It’s broad, deep, and life changing. What was it like working with Missy Elliot and Kelly Rowland on the same track “Without Me”?FANTASIA: I always like workin with Missy, you know Missy gave me my first hit “Free Yourself.” When I met here I knew we were going to be friends forever. We are both the same sign, we are Cancer women, and we have the same story. We became friends after I won American Idol and we have always been in each other’s life since then. I think I was just hungry and thirsty for Missy. She dropped that “J Cole” and it was like a tease. Everybody was like oh shoot here she comes and we’re just sitting back and waiting,

The night we recorded “Without Me” that was on a night we were in the studio and we were not intending to record but just listening to all the songs we had so far and just figuring out where we were going to go from there, what we were missing, and what else we wanted to talk about. I received a call that night so I was kinda irritated and the only way I could let my off fustration was in the booth. I remember coming in the studio sayin Harmony, “I need a hood track, I need a lil ratchet, I need it to have some thump to it. I wanna go gangsta on this one, but still in a sexy classy way. I remember he started mak-ing the beat and he got it up to the point where I could go into the booth and record, I laid down the whole song and when we were listening to it (it felt like we were in the club, it was a bunch of dudes in the studio like aayyy! This record is gonna be stupid) Harmony was like yo we should put two other people on it. Har-mony was already working with Kelly Rowland on some things, and everytime I see Kelly ..she’s just like me. She’s normal, has regular converstions, she’s not really Hollywood and we both can relate in so many manys. Right now she’s winning again doing her thing, she’s a strong black woman with black strong features. So I said, “let’s put Kelly on this record cause I feel we can relate, and let’s put Missy on because I miss her and I need a little bit of Missy Elliot. I want that 90’s (He-He-He-He How) Missy on this record. I sent the record to Missy, and we sent the record to Kelly cause she’s been so very busy and whenever they sent it back in I remember looking at my manager and I was like I could just cry right now. Kelly killed her verse, and Missy delivered. I was very happy that three strong black women who have been through a lot can come on a record together and actually kill it! P. K. That’s exciting and the beat is straight Fire! When it comes to dating… married men or in general, do you have any words of encouragement for those who will read this?FANTASIA: When it comes to dating ....whenever all of the nega-tivity came out about me and a married man people just ran

with it, they put their own story to it. It’s unfortunate that the situation happened the way it happened because I felt like that was one true love that came that was a friend of mine first. I won that case in court, so if it happened the way it was potrayed I would probably still be in that situation or paying somebody off, but I won that case. Alot of times whenever you’re dating someone and they move on with you and their ex-mate find out your dating it’s like you don’t want what you had till it’s gone. Especially if Fantasia has it, it’s like let’s put up a fight, let’s start a war. I hate that it happened the way it happened so publicly cause I honestly feel like the public really tore down the situation that wasn’t as bad as they made it to be. I would say first to the women in the industry that are dating because it’s a lot harder for us when we are singers especially. It’s almost not about the music anymore it’s about who you are sleeping with, how many kids they have, and where you both are going for the next vacation so we can send a camera to zoom in on ya’ll. It becomes hectic for someone to love one another for who they are because people will dig up all the dirt from your past. Nobody’s perfect but the man upstairs. We all have a past or skeletons in our closet, but that doesn’t mean it should always be publicized or public when it comes to celebrities. I feel sorry for every celebrity woman that is in the game who is trying to date because it’s going to be hard when you’re in the industry simply because of bloggers and interviewers. I will say to all of the women, follow your heart, and go slow take your time. I have met both women and men that may lack love in their home whether it be a mother or father they tend to go out and look for love, that love he or she may have never had. When someone wants love so bad they will jump into things so freakin fast, not giving themselves a chance or the opportunity to figure out who that person is or what that person is coming along with because of wanting love so bad. I think this is happening all across the world. People are lacking in so many ways, so they end up believing in their relationships not only the relationships with their lovers, but in business relationships. When you lack so much you tend to believe the first person that comes along and promises to take one situation and turn it into a billion dol-lars, then you look around the corner and they’re gone with your billion dollars. P. K. LOL Preach!FANTASIA: I think that in everything we do, not just in relation-ships we must take our time, we must pray about it and allow God to show you exactly who your dealing with. After He shows you, and you feel that’s something you can deal with and it’s not going to be a situation where you are hurt, broke, busted and disgusted then you follow your heart and move on from there. If You’re Happy

and You Know It…

Everyone wants to be happy. If you ask people what their number one ambition in life is, most people will say, “I just want to be happy.” We have this idea that we must be happy all the time, I must act happy, I must talk happy, I must look happy. Always having to appear happy creates stress.

Everything does not always work out according to the way we planned it. Some days are clearly disasters. Would you agree, it’s easy to be happy when things are going your way? Are you only happy when everything is going your way? If so, you are going to be unhappy for much of your life. How can we remain optimistic when everything is falling apart?

Christians have a reason to be positive. We can rejoice because we rejoice in hope. Romans 12:12 reminds us, “Be joyful in hope, (our hope in Christ). We can rejoice because God has a purpose in every situation. Romans 5:3 says, “ we also rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance. Many people have the misconception that when they get rid of their problems, they will be happy. But the reality is we are NEVER going to get rid of all of our problems as long as we are alive. Joy is learning to enjoy life in spite of problems. Joy is not the absence of suffering, but the presence of God. Do you believe that?

Suffering can be productive! Problems have a purpose. Your trials and difficulties have “VALUE.” It is easier to handle suffering when you know there is a purpose in it, that it not in vain. What is so amazing is that when we make it through a difficult time without giving up, our character and confidence are strengthened, enabling us to handle even more pressure when it comes in the future. No matter whether a problem is brought on by yourself, by other people, or Satan, GOD ALLOWED IT.

When we learn to rejoice in the problem- not for the problem, but in the problem God uses it for good in our lives. JOY is a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes. Joy comes as we get our focus off ourselves and concentrate on helping others. Our culture says, “ Live for yourself and forget about others.” But the Lord tells us that JOY comes from developing an attitude of gratitude and giving of our material possessions, our time, and our knowledge of the good news.

If your happy and you know it then your face will really show it, If your happy and you know leap with Joy!

Frequently, we search for huge dragons in our lives, when the answer is simple and right in front of our faces if we would open our eyes and look around us.

We need to repent for lack of balance in our lives, we need to turn around and go in another direction, we need to be sorry for our wrong way of living and make a decision to change. Sometimes we are tempted to do what is easy rather than what our hearts really want to do.

I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.~ Revelation 3:8

I believe that many times people are out of balance, and they don’t know it. They are unhappy; they have lost their joy, but would never attribute it to anything as simple as a need for diversity and creativity in our lives.We blame our happiness on many things, and much of the time that’s all it is - blame.

When we are unhappy, often we want to lash out at someone or something. The TRUTH alone sets us Free (John 8:32). Many times, we simply need to go back to some of the things God has spoken to us, to the leading of the Holy Spirit we ignored because we thought it was such a minor thing that it could not possibly make a difference. Remember, the Bible says, it’s the little foxes that spoil the vines.

Perhaps God has been speaking to you about some changes and you want them, but you are afraid. I want to encourage you not to be afraid to step out. Even if you make a mistake, it won’t be the end of the world. Don’t spend all of your life wishing you had different things or done different things differently. Wondering what could have been is a lonely feeling. I can promise you that you will not enjoy everything you try. But at least you’ll have the personal experience of knowing . You won’t have to live your whole life hearing about what everyone is doing and wondering what it would be like.

the One Love getaway in Nassau Bahamas. Isaac Caree is grateful that he is still doing well in the gospel music industry after 25 yrs and yes, he is relevant in the gospel music industry. ”Everything you feel that has been falling off or falling short Reset it and start over,” he says.

Twitter, Facebook, Social cam, Instagram.. all of these outlets it is a drawback to a certain degree. It gives people a voice to make opinions about your life. Ten years ago if somebody wanted to talk about you they had to call, text message or they’d talk about it at church. Now anyone can use their phone or computers to make an opinion about somebody true, false, or indifferent and the world runs with it. These are drawbacks because they invade into your privacy, but it comes with it. To much whom is given, much is required. In the age we are living in with modern technology wherein that is not necessarily a great thing that people abuse it, it is still a great tool because you can market and promote, letting others know who you are and what your doing.

������� It was interesting...alot of church LOL. It was a good thing though, my mother was very old school, so we could not listen to any secular music in the house or go to parties. I have been an artist for almost 25 years now, it has been a lot of ups and down more fun times than anything I must say. I’ve worked with some of the greatest artist in the world. I started my career with Pastor John P.Kee, then co-founding the group “Men of Standard,” from that to working with Kirk Franklin for the last eight years, and touring with Yolanda Adams, Donnie Mc Clurkin, Mary Mary, Marvin Sapp, if you name them I have pretty much worked with them in some capacity. I’ve had a pretty full career, I couldn’t ask for anything more after twenty-five years I am still here doing music and excited that I am still relevant. I believe that is the favor of God placed on me because after twenty-five years it’s easy to get board and complacent. It is easy to be an after thought, but I have been able to stay relevant and in front of people that want to hear me. I count that as a privilege and a blessing. I think the greatest thing I have learned through this is how important serving is. Serving other artist, serving with other people, kinda putting my tal-ent on the back burner to help somebody else. This has been a great testament to my solo career because God is honoring all the serving I have done through the years and now He’s allowing others to serve and be a blessing to help me on this journey. God has a unique way of doing what He does.

�����His thoughts are not like our thoughts, neither are His ways are like ours. Looking at your life I see the favor of God upon it my brother LOL. Now you can exhale after serving those who God appointed you to serve.....obeying the prerequisite of ministry-serving.

������� I agree with that, it’s just a testament not only to me but to others that God is no respecter of persons, if He did it for me He can do it for you. I think people need to hear that regardless of how long it’s been or if you find yourself in the background and you think God has forgotten about you, God is watching you. He honors those who honor Him and oth-ers. If you be faithful over few things, He will make you ruler over many. I’m just enjoying this journey, there is

so much more to come...I am very content where I am not to the point where I don’t want to continue to grow but, I am content by what God has placed in front of me and I’m humbled by it and I’m going to keep evolving.

I don’t get offended when people invade my space like that, I feel like if I don’t want to take pictures I don’t need to come out. I was checking out your twitter page and the fans are comparing this song to R.Kelly’s trapped in the closet series, tell me who produced this track? How does it make you feel being compared to R.Kelly?

������Myself and my friend Lil Ronnie. He produced the track, we both wrote the song, it’s a song that we came up with as a conversation. We wanted a song that people can identify with from the begin-ning, and people can really come off their spiritual high horse and come back down and have real conversations about real things that real people go through. People that are saved go through these things and people who are unsaved go through these things and almost ev-eryone can identify with this song. I believe that what comes from the heart reaches the heart. This song is a real conversation really asking God to clean you up and take away everything that is not like Him, and purge you with hyssop and wash you that you may be white as snow. This was a very sensitive song and we just wanted to make sure it came across very pure, very full, honest and not just mental. That’s why I put myself on the frontline so people can relate because they may have been there before or may have an uncle or brother that may have been in that situation or are going through the same thing. I believe people are gravitating to “Clean this House” because it’s real.

Offensive Tackle Luke Joekel Leads Jaguars Draft Class Luke Joeckel was selected with the second overall pick, tied for the highest draft pick in franchise history. Joeckel, 6-6, 306, was the first player from Texas A & M drafted by the Jaguars and the highest drafted offensive lineman in school history. He has a twin brother, Matt who is a quarterback for the Aggies and his father, Dave was a four-year letterman and three-year starter along the offensive line at Texax Tech from 1979-1982. Joeckel is grateful to be in the city of Jack-sonville and is ready for the challenge in the highest level of football there is- NFL.He has always been on a winning team and was a starter in every game. fect. God’s timing is never early or never late. In fact, from our birth till the time we take our last

earthly breath our sovereign God is accomplishing His divine purposes. One would think, then, that by understanding the sovereignty of our Creator, patience and waiting would come a little easier. Unfortunately, however, that’s not always the case. Our human nature can make waiting for God’s perfect timing a difficult thing to do. In fact, in the hustle and bustle of our frenetic lives, we often find it difficult to wait for anything or anyone. We want what we want now. And with our modern technological advances, we’re often able to get what we want now. As a result, we are not only losing our patience, but also finding it increasingly difficult to discern God’s tim-ing. Understanding God’s timing requires trust. In fact, our ability to wait on the Lord is largely related to how much we trust him. When we trust in God with all of our heart, foregoing reliance on our own, often errone-ous understanding of circumstances, He will indeed give us instruction~ Proverbs 3:5,6.

��������������������������������Comparison to R.Kelly really doesn’t bother me, He’s one of my favorite artist considering the gift God has given him. He’s amazing! Nobody can deny his gift, even if you don’t care what he’s singing about. I appreciate his music, how he does it, I appreciate the mind that he has it takes a brilliant mind to create music like he has. I wasn’t going in trying to sound like him, but I kinda understand some of the comparisons it really doesn’t bother me at all. I wanted to make sure that people got the concept and the message to the song. Alot of the times people get caught up in the method (he sounds like R.Kelly) and not necessarily the message. If you are going to compare me with somebody compare me to someone who is great and I think R.Kelly is a great comparison.

����� Comparisons happens a lot in the church. Many believers at times are so focused on the mes-senger that they miss the message. SMH Lord help us.

������ I am, I believe this is the most important album of my entire career. My first album was “Un-common Me” God really showed His favor on the album with a number one hit on the billboard charts “In the middle” we had a great journey. This album is so special to me because when I named this al-bum Reset it was for more reasons than one and one of the reasons was I kinda pressed the rest button and started over. I started my own label, in which my label was very active in the first album but I kinda branched out and did it by myself. I have new distribution, new management, attorney, you talking bout cleaning house I cleaned house! I wanted a fresh start, everybody from my publicist to my assis-tant ,my radio people, everybody that’s on the team really believe in me. They really have my back, it’s one thing for people to do something for you just be-cause they getting paid verses those that do it be-cause they care. Even though they are getting paid they still take a different approach, it’s a different passion they work with and that’s what I’m getting from my team. I really appreciate everybody’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to this album. It’s a big day not only for me but for everybody we all will celebrate on that day. I want to make sure that everybody is celebrating and everybody is celebrated, and everybody knows that it is the people who are behind this thing that deserve just as much credit as I do as the artist. They really put me in a position to win, I dare not cel-ebrate by myself, I dare not take all the glory I have

to spread evenly around my entire team. They have been a breath of fresh air, lifesavers, stimulator’s, they brought me back to life when I wanted to through in the towel and give up. It’s been a great journey, I’m excited about this music! People are not ready for the songs, the concept, the message, the music, everything it’s a masterpiece. I am a hard critic on myself, anyone will tell you I am not a person that believes that everything I do is great. one of the great challenges of our walk with God is to resist the temptation to allow what happened in the past determine who we are to-day. There are many people who are plagued all their lives by memories of failed marriages, broken promises, and personal calamities. They have allowed past events to eat at their thoughts like a cancer- a cancer that a physician cannot find. Did you know that many times your thoughts need to be healed? Your thoughts are often the product of damaged emotions, traumatic events, and malicious opin-ions forced upon you by people who continuously feel it necessary to ex-press their opinions about you. Scrip-ture teaches us if we are going to be healed in our own mind, then we must occasionally reprogram ourselves to “think on better thoughts.” “Finally,

brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.-Phil. 4:8 NIV”

You must choose what you are going to meditate upon. Satan knows this, so when he wants to destroy your mo-rality, he doesn’t start with an act; he starts with a thought. A thought is a seed that, if not aborted, will produce offspring somewhere in our lives. An evil thought will rearrange your goals, your dreams, and your ambitions. A thought left to ramble in your mind will attach itself to an incident in your past and it will grow like a field full of weeds. These evil thoughts impede progress and destroy morals. They are as dangerous as the act of sin itself.

Quickly cast down evil thoughts. “Change the record,” (that song play-ing in your head) before it drains away your commitment to excellence and leaves you crying in the valley of re-gret. The real temptation to entertain thoughts is in the privacy of the mind. No one really knows what you and I may be thinking at any given time. Our mind is a private battle field that can easily become a secret place of contamination, lust, fear, low-self es-teem, and only God knows what else! Thoughts are previews of coming at-tractions......

We are what we think thus, we must continue to purge our thoughts.

If you see traces of this in your own life (and most of us can), abort the seeds that are causing you to miss the mark and “PRESS ON!”

To further our goals of preventing do-mestic abuse, the DIP Foundation is upgrading our property — House of H.O.P.E. specifically to provide emer-gency shelter for the population that we serve. This shelter will offer our clients a shot at a renewed life without the burden of looking over their shoul-ders.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. Nearly three out of four (74%) of Americans personally know someone who is or has been a victim of domestic violence.

year. Police report that between 40% and 60% of the calls they receive, es-pecially on the night shift, are domes-tic violence disputes. Police are more likely to respond within 5 minutes if an offender is a stranger than if an offender is known to a female victim.

The cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $5.8 billion each year, $4.1 billion of which is for direct medical and mental health services. There are 1,500 shelters for battered women in the United States. There are 3,800 ani-mal shelters. Safe houses are one way a battered woman can escape her situ-ation, but the need is greater than the resources. The DIP Foundation seeks to increase the number of shelters for battered women by opening House of H.O.P.E. immediately.

Yes, indeed the word of God is a living andpowerful word, which is able to penetrate the

very depths of our subconscious being and to go to the center of our inner person. The word of God has the power to go beyond our conscious mind to the very core of our spiritual being and to cleanse, convict, and transform us. Sometimes we think everything is o.k., But God’s word has the power to uncover secret attitudes and desires that are not pleasing to God. The word of God can tear down strongholds of fear, failure, lust, and negativity and then build powerful and new habit patterns that produce life, love, and victory if we be doers of

the word, not hearers only, deceiving ourselves
