Presented by Shoreditch Town Hall, Gate Theatre, Notting Hill & LIFT. Produced by Shoreditch Town Hall as part of LIFT 2016

A man with a nosebleed appears, possibly from the near future, to tell us something. Microphones crackle and break. Signals get scrambled and transmissions glitch. OBIE award-winning creator and performer Andrew Schneider brings YOUARENOWHERE to Shoreditch Town Hall from New York in a co-presentation with the Gate Theatre, Notting Hill and LIFT.

YOUARENOWHERE is a rapid-fire existential meditation, blending physics lecture, pop culture, personal revelation in a shifting landscape of sensory overload to short-circuit preconceived notions of individual perspective and what it means to be here now.

ANALOGUE

SLEEPLESS dates: Thu 1 - Wed 14 Sep times: 7.30pm tickets: £15

A woman lies awake. Pupils like pinpricks, skin saturated in sweat, the odd jerk of a muscle. She hasn’t slept for 3 months. She knows what is happening to her and there’s nothing she can do. Cosima Trevisan gets a phone call. Her mother’s body has been discovered in her car in the North Sea. Her neighbours say she had been acting strangely, and the last person to hear from her was a doctor she had never met.

Cosima and Dr Graham are left to discover what drove her to commit such an act. Set against the backdrop of an unfolding mad cow crisis, their search takes them on a journey through history and a race against time to find the cause and cure of a rare genetic disease.

Inspired by the remarkable true story of a family and the disease that has cursed them for generations, SLEEPLESS is the new show from Analogue, a company with a strong reputation for their multimedia performance style that combines powerful storytelling with rigorous scientific research.

RACHEL MARS OUR CARNAL HEARTSdates: Mon 26 - Wed 28 Septimes: 8pm tickets: £12.50

A Welcome! To you and to me and our sticky, spikey, shameful bits!

This fairy comes round your house. You, she says, are in luck. Ask for anything you want. Anything in the world and I’ll give it to you. But whatever you ask for, your neighbour gets double.

Our Carnal Hearts is a gleeful, thrilling and murky celebration of envy, competitive spirits and all the times we f*ck each other over. Performed with a live surround-sound choral score, it is born from the suspect parentage of an ideological rally, a drunken sing-song and a seductive dream.

Compositions and arrangements by Louise Mothersole (Sh!t Theatre)

THE RUBY DOLLS THE BRIDES OF BLUEBEARDdates: Thu 29 & Fri 20 Septimes: 8pm tickets: £12.50

The bear is getting married. Again. And all of his previous wives have a habit of dying mysteriously... This is the folk tale Bluebeard re-wired for 2016. It’s about control, female transgression and the consequences of both. With jokes. Through original songs and the music of Nick Cave, Amy Winehouse and Rage Against the Machine, four women tell you a disturbingly familiar story. Are you sitting comfortably?

Developed with the support of Arts Council England. Co-commissioned by Cambridge Junction and CPT with further support from American Repertory Theatre, Ovalhouse, Shoreditch Town Hall, South East Dance in partnership with Jerwood Charitable Trust. Developed in partnership with The Orchard Project (NY), The Royal Court Theatre and Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal.

The Brides of Bluebeard is written by critically acclaimed ensemble The Ruby Dolls, with original music and arrangements composed by the company.

There are 74 onstage deaths in the works of William Shakespeare - 75 if you count the black ill-favoured fly killed in Titus Andronicus.

From the Roman suicides in Julius Caesar to the death fall of Prince Arthur in King John; from the carnage at the end of Hamlet to snakes in a basket in Antony & Cleopatra. And then there’s the pie that Titus serves his guests.

Spymonkey will perform them all - sometimes lingeringly, sometimes messily, sometimes movingly, sometimes musically, always hysterically. The four “seriously, outrageously, cleverly funny clowns” (Time Magazine) will scale the peaks of sublime poetry, and plumb the depths of darkest depravity. It may even be the death of them.

Adapted and directed by Tim Crouch (I, Malvolio, An Oak Tree, Adler & Gibb), The Complete Deaths will be a solemn, sombre and sublimely funny tribute to the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

A Spymonkey co-production with Brighton Festival and Royal & Derngate Northampton.

ACCESS Shoreditch Town Hall is committed to providing a welcoming environment, working to positively improve the experience for our disabled visitors as far as is reasonably possible in our Grade II listed building.

With the successful completion of the latest phase of capital works to improve the building, we can now offer visitors a new passenger lift providing step-free access to the basement (The Ditch), ground and first floors alongside our existing provision of a platform lift from the street to the main foyer*. Our Assembly Hall Balcony on the second floor is, however, only accessible via 66 steps with one rest area.

We also welcome assistance dogs; have gender-neutral, accessible toilets with baby changing facilities; a nearby loading bay which allows up to 3 hours parking for blue badge holders; and where possible, we offer access provision for certain performances (BSL interpreted, captioned, audio described and/or relaxed performances, as well as touch tours).

If you have specific access requirements, please ring our reception on 020 7739 6176 or email [email protected] before making your booking. Our team are here to ensure that your visit is as easy and enjoyable as possible and will be happy to discuss any requirements you may have.
