Short Stories About LoveApologies Part 1

It was first day of the mid-year exams andtherefore I finished school a little earlier. I calledhim,

Hey, I finished school earlier today, would youcome by and pick me up?

Alright, give me five minutes.Five minutes? But my school is just beside yourhouse.I need to get ready.Alright, make it fast then.

It was 2 p.m. in the afternoon and the sun wasextremely hot. I stood under a shaded tree andfanned myself. Although it doesn't make much of adifference, I felt better with something to do while Iwait.

After five minutes, he still hadnt shown up. I felt alittle unhappy as I looked at my watch.

Soon, five minutes turned to ten minutes and he'sstill not here. Did he meet with an accident on hisway here? I started to become worried.

It was fifteen minutes later when he finally showedup.

Why are you so late?He wasn't even a little bothered.I was watching T.V.What?! T.V.?! Why don't you sleep, bathe and eatbefore you get me then?

I was extremely angry and kept quiet as I didn'ttake the helmet he handed me. I stood there andstared at him.

    Sorry.

This was the first time he said sorry to me. He is anegoistical person and had never apologised to agirl before. I looked at him and felt my heartsoftened. I decided it is alright since he apologised.I took the helmet and let him sent me home.

It was typical of him to avoid explanations, frictionand quarrels between us. Since then, the onlything he ever does is to apologise when somethingis wrong. However in my opinion, some things can'tbe settled with an apology.

Despite that, I would never pursue a matter oncehe apologises. He told me that was the first timehe said sorry to a girl and while I felt that it takes

courage to admit mistakes, he never once correcthis mistakes. Instead, I get the impression thatsorry became a word to shut me up.

Tears flowed down my cheeks when he apologiseto me again on the 59th time. I dropped my headand told him,

Please don't bother to say sorry to me again. If

you can never change your bad habits, don't letme keep giving you chances again and again, hoping and believing that you would change eachtime.

He held me lightly and said the 60th sorry. Evenwith my outburst and his latest apology, he did nochange for the better and there still wasnt anyexplanation on his mistakes whatsoever.

Short Love Stories OnlineApologies Part 2

I started to worry about the possibility that he wakeeping something from me.

What's wrong with you these few days?Nothing. Then why are you acting so strange?I am not. What can you say other than giving this reply?Do you know I'm very worried and very insecure?Do you treat me as your girlfriend?I'm sorry...I don't want to hear you say sorry again.

I clamed the phone down and he did not call meback. At that point of time, I felt that he didn't evecare about me. Maybe we should just break up.

That was the 99th time he said sorry to me.

From that day onwards, I stopped calling andlooking for him.

Sometimes, I would get an anonymous phone callHowever every time I said hello, the phone will becut off. I think he made those calls but I wonderedwhy he didnt speak up.

After a month, I couldn't contain the feelings I stilhave for him anymore and went to his school tolook for him. I went to his classroom and lookedaround, but there was no sign of him.

Excuse me, is XOXO here today?I'm afraid he stopped schooling.Huh? Why? When was that?

He hasn't been in school for a month already.Oh erm... Thanks.

One month? He hasnt been in school for onemonth. Why is that so? I stumbled home inconfusion.

As soon as I got home I tried to contact him via hiscell phone but all I got was, Sorry the caller is

currently unavailable, please leave your messageafter the tone. Beep.I tried calling his house instead but there was noanswer. How can it be? Did his whole familymigrate? It seemed as if he has disappeared off theface of the earth without leaving a single trace.

I couldn't find him and just as I was feelingdistraught, my friend rang me up. He was one ofhis brothers and also my good friend.

Hey, what have you been doing? XOXO is inhospital.Really? What Happened?Oh he is in ZZ hospital, the one you stayed inpreviously.I'll be right there.

I rushed off and when I reached the hospital, I sawthat his parents were already there. I asked themfor his room number and flew across the hall. Hewas lying on a bed looking at me. He didnt speaka word nor moved a muscle.

    Apologies Part 3

Hey, what happened to you? Why didn't youcontact me?He did not answer but stared emotionlessly at me.Come on answer me. Why don't you speak?A tear flowed down the side of his eye, and itlooked as though he was summoning all his energyto mumble these words...I'm... Sorry...He shut his eyes after that.Hey, don't fool around alright. Why say sorry tome?

Don't say sorry to me. Please wake up. Pleaseanswer me

I fell down on the side of his bed and weptmiserably. I pulled his shirt as I cried out...Why do you have to apologise? Why don't yougive me an explanation instead?I won't forgive you. Wake up! It is no use sayingsorry...I'll never ever forgive you in this lifetime if youdont wake up. Please, I beg you to open youreyes.....

That was the 100th sorry. A group of medical stafdoctors and nurses pulled me away and tried torevive him. I didnt even have the strength to stanup. My mind was a blank.... My eyes could only sea sea of darkness...

He did not leave this world. I merely lost thechance to touch him. Sometimes, he will appear imy dreams and tell me how he is doing. He is stillalive and accompanies me in my heart. He will stilaugh at my silliness and call me his darling. Its

just that he will never apologise to me anymore.

After a month, his mom came to look for me andgave me a box. There were a hundred photographinside. Everyone had a story behind them. It wasthe reason why he made me angry.

My dear, the first time I said sorry I did notpurposely arrive late to pick you up. I know thisexcuse is really lame but I didn't have the heart totell you the truth then. Before I stepped out of thehouse, I felt a pain in my chest but I still made it apoint to meet you. Can you please forgive me?

My dear, the second time I said sorry I...

My dear, the third time I said sorry I...

My dear, the hundredth time I said sorry I didn'tmean to leave you alone in this world. It had to beso because God did not give me the chance to sayI Love You for this lifetime of mine and to put a rinon your finger...

You are the first girl I apologised to and also thefirst girl I want to be with for the rest of my life.Forgive me for not being able to bring youhappiness but I will become your angel and alwaylook out for you. I will look at you while you findyour happiness. Please promise me not to shed atear. I don't want to see you weep for me.

    I Love You~ XOXO

How can I not cry? What you wanted was justimpossible.

The last photograph showed him in the hospital.Although he was skinny, the smile on his face wasas bright as ever. His face was pale and yet hetried his best to give his last smile on the lastphoto, the photo for the 100th apology.

At the time when he needed me the most, I wasn'with him. I'm sorry. I held the photo tightly andcried for us.

He went onfurther to say that Im just a low prize girl thatseeks a rich guy to change my social status tosolve my financial problems.

to carry the fruits home but my body won't listento me. I decided to rest at the nearest cafe.

While eating at the cafe, a boy caught myattention. He looked familiar to me and Irecognized him as the boy who was looking forsomething earlier. He was still looking forsomething. I also noticed that he was carrying atorn bag that was filled up. My curiosity got thebetter of me so I paid my bills and secretlyfollowed the boy.

I followed him and noticed that he was picking upfruits that were nearly rotten that had fallen by theroadside. I thought that the bag might be filledwith fruits like the one he picked up. Questionsfilled my mind. What will he do with the uselessfruits which were rejected by others? Who will hegive the fruits to? At that point of time, I decidedthat the kid is probably a poor beggar that eatsrotten fruits.

I followed him until he stopped at the park. Theboy slowly removed the fruits out of the bag andstarted eating them. I was disgusted by what theboy did so I went up to him and told him to stop. Itold him that he might get ill by eating the rottenfruits. However, he wouldn't listen to me andcontinued eating. To my surprise, he invited me tosit beside him and have a little talk.

I sat beside him and he stopped eating. That mademe felt slightly better. He started telling me hisstory. He was a child of a poor couple. They passed

away when he was only five years old and he hasbeen surviving on his own ever since. This movedme greatly but the rest of his story is even moreamazing.

He told me that he will pick up every fruit he seeseven though it's rotten. When I asked him why, he answered, "I picked upthese fruits which other people reject because theydon't know the value of these fruits. The trees waitfor months just to bear fruits but people reject it. Ithink this will make the trees sad so I value the

fruits and eat them whole-heartedly. I don't knowwhy people reject the love the trees bear for us."

This really touched me as I realized that this youngchild understands the true meaning of love. He is aboy who is able to see true beauty despite theappearance.

The child taught me a lesson and I hope that all ofyou would try to change for the better too. If achild's eyes can see inner beauty then surely we asgrown-ups can do so too.

    Interesting StoryThe Lesson of Potatoes

A kindergarten teacher decided to let her classplay a game. The teacher told each child in theclass to bring along a plastic bag containing a fewpotatoes. Each potato will be given a name of aperson that the child hates, so the number ofpotatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bagwill depend on the number of people he/she hates

When the day came, every child brought somepotatoes with the names of the people he/shehated. Some had two potatoes, some had threepotatoes while there were a few with up to fivepotatoes. The teacher told the children to carry thpotatoes in the plastic bag with them whereverthey go (even to the toilet) for one week.

Days passed by and the children started tocomplain about the unpleasant smell let out by throtten potatoes. Children with five potatoescomplained the most as they had to carry heavierbags. After a week, the children were relievedbecause the game had finally ended.

The teacher asked, "How did you feel whilecarrying the potatoes with you for one week?"

The children let out their frustrations andcomplained about the trouble they had to gothrough to carry the heavy and smelly potatoeswherever they go.

The teacher finally told them about the hidden

meaning behind the game. The teacher said, "This is the exact situation towhat happens when you carry hatred for someoneinside your heart. The stench of hatred willcontaminate your heart and you will carry it withyou wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate thesmell of rotten potatoes for just one week, can yoimagine what it is like to have the stench of hatrein your heart for your lifetime?"

Moral of the storyThrow away any hatred for anyone from your hea

so that you will not carry a burden for a lifetime. The best attitude to take is to forgive others! Loveothers even if you don't like them.

Fiction StoryMy Little Mouse Geek Part 1

It was a very calm and beautiful day as I sat on thebench and admired the Almighty's wonderfulhandiwork around me. I took in a breath of therefreshing breeze and smiled as a memory flashedby my mind. It was at around this exact time andday that I met the most interesting woman Icould've ever imagined.

    ------------------------------------------

That particular day, I was tasked to fetch a family

friend of ours from the train station. I went withmuch reluctance as my mom wouldn't stopnagging at me to remember to carry out the task. However, when I arrived at the train station, Irealized something vital. I was so eager to escapemy mom's world famous nagging that I had left thehouse without so much an idea of who I was tofetch or how he or she looks like! I was ponderingabout what I should do to solve the problem when Iheard the train hooting as if announcing its arrival.I felt for my mobile phone in my pockets and that

was when I realized that I had left it at home sincethe battery was drained.

How stupid is that?! I'm such a loser! I toldmyself as the train finally made its stop. Talkabout moronic!

As a result, I stood in front of the train doors like afool, waiting to fetch my family friend without any

clue who he or she is. The passengers emergedfrom the train as the doors opened. I stood therelooking confused and unsure of what to do. I wassilently hoping that my family friend will identifyme when suddenly, someone bumped into me. Thimpact caught us both off balance. We fell and theperson landed on top of me.

"Oh no!" A voice squeaked. It sounded feminine and when I looked up, Iconfirmed it. She was a female... probably.

I wasn't prepared for the sight that greeted me.This lady - well, she is wearing a skirt, was far frombeing ladylike. She looked more like a mouse withher out of fashion sweater and cardigan paired upwith an ankle-length brown skirt. Her untamed hawas braided up but it was somehow useless asthere were stray stands everywhere and somewere even standing on their ends. She was wearina pair of glasses that had thick lenses and rims ona black colored frame. It magnified her eyes to tetimes their original size. She looked more like amouse than a human being.

We got up and I noticed she started looking arounand moving about. It didn't look like she felt mypresence.

"Oh no!" She squeaked once more."It's really gone!""Did you lose something?" I asked.

She literally jumped at the sound of my voice andstared at me wide-eyed. She had an innocent lookin her as she scrutinized me closely. There was amoment of silence and since she didnt make a

move, I decided to break that silence.

"Is there any problem, Miss?""I'm lost." She replied immediately withoutaverting her gaze from my face."Were you supposed to be somewhere else?"

She nodded and started a tale. She narratedeverything to me animatedly in a very rapidmanner. It was as if she was switched on to fast-

forward mode. I couldn't catch what she wassaying but I was able to at least get the gist of it.According to the bits and pieces I heard, she wassupposed to tour the whole city but unfortunately, she lost her one and only map of the city.

I didn't know what came over me but I surprisedmyself when I suddenly blurted out somethingabout offering to help her. I had presented myselfas a tour guide! Her eyes glistened. She looked likea child who was offered a box of tasty sweets. Onething led to another and I found myself acting likethe perfect tour guide as I brought her around thecity. She was having the time of her life andlooking at her made me forget about my earlierconfusions. I even forgot about that family friend Iwas supposed to fetch at the train station. She maynot be attractive but I had to admit there wassomething about her that drew me her way.

We had a lot of fun and before I knew it, afternoonhad already passed and the sky was becoming

dark. It was also time to say goodbye. Hence, Ibrought her back to the train station for her tocatch the last train home.

When the train doors opened, she turned andsmiled at me with her magnified eyes. Instead offeeling disgusted, I found her mouse like lookscute-looking.

"Thanks! I had a lot of fun. If it wasn't for you, Iwould've been lost and missed the best day of mylife." She said.

The conductor was announcing the last call for thepassengers."Well, see you when I do!"

I simply smiled and nodded. She was about toenter the train when she stopped and turned backto me.

    "Wait!" She called out."Yeah?"

Without another word and much to my surprise,

she gave me a smack on the lips then ran off tothe train which was already in motion. I was still inshock as I followed her with my gaze and saw herwaving at me with a big smile on her face. Thetrain was no longer in sight when I realized onevital thing, again. I didn't get her name! We spentthe whole day together and I was not able to gether name?! Even if it was just a smack on the lips, she was still my first kiss. A nameless first kiss.

Ugh! I'm such a loser! I told myself again.

That was what happened last year when I had justurned seventeen. Ever since then, I couldn't seemto get her out of my mind. Every time I come bythe train station, I would always remember thatspunky geek girl who looked like a mouse. I am

I was so absorbed in my memories that I did notnotice the train stopping and the passengersemerging. I only looked up when I realized a pair osneakers stopping right in front of me. I stared atthe girl before me. She looked so cute in baggy

jeans and pink tank top with her hair in a ponytailHer smile looked familiar.

It's her! I thought to myself. But how could that be? How could a mousetransform into a cutie?I couldn't be so sure. Hence, I had to ask.

"Is there any problem, Miss?"She gave me that smile again."I'm lost." She replied immediately.

And I knew it. It really was her! My cute littlemouse geek. I would never know how she turnedinto a beauty but I am ecstatic to see her again.

We stood there smiling at each other. I was justabout to say something when someone suddenlycalled me from behind.

"Michael! What are you doing there?" My momcalled.I had totally forgotten that I was at the train statiowith my mom. She must have noticed that I wasnalone so she came over to check. To my utteramazement, a smile broke out from her lips whenshe saw who I was with.

"Abigail! Is that you? My! Look how much you'vegrown! I'm sorry I was not able to see you lastyear. This is my son, Michael."She hit me on the arm to emphasize her point."He was too absent minded and had forgotten toask who he was going to fetch last year."

She smiled at my mom."That's all right, Mrs. Brooks. I did fine last year.Someone was kind enough to tour me around."

They continued on talking while I tried to absorbeverything while still in shock. The family friend mymom was referring to last year was my mousegeek all along! I thought I was never going to seeher. It's funny how fate plays its cards.

In between the cheerful conversation with mymom, my little mouse geek stole a glance my wayand gave me a wink.

    Teenage StoriesMy Crush Part 1

I had a crush on my best male friend for as long asI'd known him. As time went on and we got to knoweach other better, I found myself falling in lovewith him, but much to my frustration, ourrelationship never developed beyond friendship.Unwilling to risk losing such a good friend, I refusedto do anything to change that.

A couple of weeks before Valentine's Day, he cameto me with a dilemma."I really, really like this girl." He said."A lot. Do you think I should send her a Valentine'sDay card?"My heart sank, but I tried not to show it. I wasstunned. I'd never heard him mention another girl, especially one he liked so much."Do you think she likes you?" I asked him, trying toact nonchalant and involved in the problem."I'm not sure." he replied.

"I think so. Maybe""Does she have a boyfriend?" was my nextquestion.Secretly, I was thinking, 'Please, please let herhave a boyfriend'."No.""Oh."So much for that idea."In that case, go for it. It sounds pretty promisingand it's a good way to find out if she likes you.Besides, what girl could resist you?"I said it as a joke but the matter of fact is, I really

did believe that. He blushed and his cheeks turnebright red. It was so cute.

I tried to press him for more information about hismystery woman, but he was very evasive andbasically refused to tell me anything. He's reallygood at avoiding things. Hence, I left, none thewiser and nursing a broken heart.

In the ensuing weeks, I tried to find out anything could about this girl he liked. I questioned all ourmutual friends but they knew nothing. Meanwhilehe came to me several times for advice."Should I get her flowers?""Yes, I don't know any girl who doesn't like toreceive flowers.""What kind should I get?""That depends.""On what?""On what kind of flowers she likes and how muchmoney you're willing to spend.""I'm not worried about the money."

This was very unusual. He was usually so tight witmoney that he was the kind of person who wouldbe willing to reuse foil and not for environmentalreasons.

    My Crush Part 2

'He must really like her.' I thought and my heartsank even further.Well, in that case, roses are always good.Especially with white baby's breath. He looked confused.

Ask the florist, she'll know what I mean.""Will the florist deliver them?""Inter-flora will.""When should I send the card so it gets there onValentine's Day?""Why don't you just show up at her doorstep withthe card and the flowers on Valentine's Day?""No, no, no, I can't.""Why not?""In case she doesn't like me.""Then have the card attached to the flowers andget it delivered with them."And on and on and on it went.

By the time Valentine's Day rolled around, I wasseverely jealous and very depressed. I was mopinaround the house, feeling sorry for myself, whenthe doorbell rang. When I opened the door, therewas a delivery person from Inter-flora, holding ahuge bunch of red roses with white baby's breathwith a large card attached.

When I opened the card, the first thing I did was tsee who it was from. It was from him! I couldn'tbelieve it.

    The card read:

"I've always been attracted to you (Which guywouldn't be?), but as we became better friends, Ifound you were beautiful on the inside as well ason the outside

My feelings for you have deepened far beyondfriendship, but I've always been too afraid to say

anything. I value our friendship more thananything, but I just had to let you know how I feel(It's been driving me crazy!).

    My Crush Part 3

If you don't feel the same way, I completelyunderstand, and we can go on being the best offriends - I'll never bring this up again, and hopefullywe can forget this ever happened.

Please call me and let me know what you think."

Obviously, I called him straight away and we'vebeen together ever since. Which girl could possiblyresist a card like that? So here's a word of adviceto everyone out there.

"Life is short, too short to waste wondering howsomeone feels about you.

If you find yourself in such a situation, don't beafraid to say something and find out where youstand. It's possible that the two of you could have

something wonderful together, so why denyyourself that?

I'll always be grateful that he had the courage togo out on a limb for me, and that in doing so hebrought our relationship a step forward. I guess italso shows how deep his feelings were for me - hewas willing to risk our friendship, which he valuedso much, for them.

So please, whether it's telling someone you likethem, or considering travelling alone, or trying toget that dream job, bite the bullet and go for it.

It's so much better than wondering what mighthave been, and the end result might just bringmore joy into your life.
