It starts with a black screen and the producers name appears first with the word ‘presents’ underneath, connoting him to be the most important person in this film. The score starts to build up here with eerie sounds. Then the title of the film shows up, with ‘Stephen King’ above it as he wrote the book which this film is based on, connoting him to also be very important. The title is in silver writing and a middle sized font.

Then a full moon appears at the side on the screen as we hear a wolf howling, connoting to us the first idea of a werewolf we associate howling at a full moon with werewolves. The main cast members’ names come up one by one next to the full moon and the score starts to add more instruments into it as it gets stronger, while we begin to slowly zoom out from the moon. Then the rest of the cast members names appear in a list with ‘also starring’ above it, connoting them to be less significant. Then the person who created the creatures appears, and next the costume designer and production designer, connoting these three to be quite important. Then the director of photography.

A narration starts, setting the scene as the camera tilts downwards into an extreme long shot of a small town where we can see a few cars and people moving around and the words, ‘spring 1976’ appears. The narration says, ‘our towns long nightmare began that night,’ giving us an idea of what’s to come. It cuts to a shot where the camera is behind some bushes following a car as it drives down the road towards us, connoting that something is watching this person. Then the film editors’ name appears.
