• Prior to SC2019.1, internal fans had to be defined on mesh-mated surfaces.

• Mesh mating is not available in the AFEM context.

• Fluid domains had to be extracted at the modeling level.

• Idealized parts not accessible at the part level.

• Fluid domain extraction for complex assemblies with internal fans is challenging.

Solution:

• Fluid domains can remain within their respective component idealized parts.

• Can be combined with surface wrapping workflows.

• The RNG k-e, Realizable k-e, and Spalart-Allmaras turbulence models are now
