Single Ladies is a brand new American 2011 drama/comedy show Which is shown on VH1. The title of the show already tells the audienceit’s about romance. Three best friends who are single in Atlanta where

it’sfilled with celebrities, fashion, music. The Single Ladies each have theirown different philosophies of sex and relationship. The TV drama followseach of them, and interests mainly women who can relate to the singlelife and approach to relationships.

The Structure Single Ladies begins with the main character Val, her boyfriend and friends celebrating Val

opening up her own boutique. The show jumps into the single ladies life which makes the viewers know and understand the characters. In one of the next scenes Val is talking to her boyfriend, slowly turning into an argument and then into a bad break up, from this Val and her friends are shocked. Val realizes that she’s been in a 6 year pointless relationship, so she decides to be single, independent and focus on her new exciting career. Throughout the season the programme shows three single ladies live their lives with their own love/lust/heart break story. Towards the end two of the single ladies Val and Keisha end up in a relationship and with the other single lady April who’s new to the single life from after having a bad divorce. April learns to appreciate what life she had with her ex husband, and discovers how much of a strong woman she is towards her career. The season finishes with an edge that includes Val’s ex boyfriend and current boyfriend both proposing at the same time, this definitely makes the viewers anticipate for the next season.

The Language Style The language style in Single ladies is mainly

hip and up to date, the ladies speak formally with sometimes slang coming through.The men speak formally also mainly to show their class. Because it’s an adult comedy/-drama show the language is used for theviewers to understand.
