Firing ClayKorea’s earliest pottery was fired at

temperatures from 600-800 degrees centigrade. Sometimes they fired it at 1,000 degrees centigrade. Ceramics were fired at temperatures from 900-1,000 degrees centigrade. Then they were glazed.

CeladonCeladon began in Korea 7,000-8,000 years

ago. They started to make Celadon and eventually some White Porcelain. In the 12th century, pure Celadon became the most sophisticated Koryo Celadon. It was mainly used in Buddhist temples. The Celadon became a mystic blue and a gray-green color, also called as “Kingfisher” green. Koryo Celadon is acclaimed the best and finest type of pottery for it’s clear, yet high spirited bluish- green color.

Punch’ong is different from White Porcelain in shape and characteristics.
