PREALPI was founded in 1972

and right from the start it declared

its inspiring philosophy: enter the

market with top quality, original

and innovative products that also

can be provocative. Today the

company, in its full maturity, still

confirms its original choice, inclu-

ding the provocation always pla-

yed with class and a sense of

measure.

This new catalogue is the result of

a project that has been pursued

over the years not just with intui-

tions but also with the conviction

that in a time of general market

sluggishness and the prevalence

of mass production and low pri-

ces, it is more than right to give the

proper value to the human factor,

including the ideas.

PREALPI we must emphasise is

more a family of carpenters than a

factory of workers, that even befo-

re believing it “it feels” what is

doing. The quality of this catalogue

and its contents testifies it.

PREALPI nasce nel 1972 e fin

dalla culla dichiara quella che

sarà la sua filosofia di vita: pro-

porsi sul mercato con prodotti

sicuramente di qualità ma soprat-

tutto originali, innovativi, qualche

volta anche provocatori.

Oggi, nel pieno della maturità,

l’azienda conferma le sue scelte,

provocazioni comprese, però

sempre con classe e senso della

misura.

Questo nuovo catalogo è quindi il

terminale di un progetto perse-

guito nel corso degli anni non

solo con l’intuito ma anche con la

convinzione che, proprio in

un’era di generale appiattimento

del mercato e di grandi egemonie

produttive o di prezzo, sia, più

che opportuno, giusto dare anco-

ra il dovuto valore al fattore

umano, idee comprese.

La PREALPI, vale la pena sottoli-

nearlo, è più una famiglia di fale-

gnami che una fabbrica piena di

operai e, prima ancora di creder-

ci, “sente” quello che fa e la qua-

lità di questo catalogo e dei suoi

contenuti lo testimoniano.

Our ideas are the result of the coo-

peration between a team of archi-

tects, designers and our own

engineering office, which develops

the projects and create products

with an added “touch” which

makes them special if not unique.

Without ever overdoing it though,

with class, sense of measure and

that certainty that only derives from

years’ experience and a few

reconsiderations. A new way of

inventing things, almost transgres-

sive, so that they are unmistakea-

ble. Addressed to professional fur-

niture dealers who do not want just

sell furniture but instead satisfy

their customers wishes and dre-

ams.

Dalla collaborazione di un team di

architetti e designers e lo studio

tecnico dell’azienda nascono

idee, si studiano progetti, si rea-

lizzano prodotti che devono

avere una marcia in più, una fun-

zione, un qualcosa che li rendono

speciali, quando non esclusivi.

Pero’ senza eccessi, ma con

classe e senso della misura e con

certezze che derivano da anni di

esperienze e qualche ripensa-

mento. Un modo diverso di

inventare oggetti, sfiorando qual-

che volta la trasgressione tanto

da renderli spesso inconfondibili.

Dedicati ai professionisti dell’

HENRY FORD who, during a mee-

ting with his dealers came out with

his now famous saying: “whoever

buys a FORD can have any colour

they want, as long as it is black!”

This is the monopoly of beauty!

PREALPI lets you choose your

favourite colour though, no matter

which one, in either matt or bru-

shed glossy lacquer finish. What’s

more you can also customize the

shade of the wood: bleached oak,

dark brown, grease, cherry, tobac-

co, teak or others on request. You

have the same choices for the

glass doors and tabletops. In

short: ask and you shall receive...

These finishes are just examples

of the available ones. No limits

for the lacquered colours.

Le Bibbie del Marketing raccon-

tano che HENRY FORD, ad una

riunione con i suoi rivenditori, se

ne sia uscito con una frase che

rimase poi celebre: “chi compre

sua auto qualsiasi colore, purchè

lezza! PREALPI invece vi fa sce-

gliere il vostro colore preferito,

qualunque esso sia laccato

opaco o lucido spazzolato.

Non solo, ma vi permette di per-

sonalizzare anche la tinta del

legno: rovere sbiancato, moro,

grease, cerasa, tabacco, teak o

altre a richiesta. Le stesse oppor-

tunità potete averle anche sui

vetri delle ante e sui piani dei

We already said that for Prealpi

design research, technology inno-

vation and the right dose of provo-

cation are the reasons of existen-

ce. With the Histoire d’Ô project

we have reached the apex of this

philosophy. In one single piece we

combined perfectly top quality

design with the originality of the

movement. Yes, because this bed

can be not only fixed but also rota-

ting; manually or motorized. Why

rotating? For several reasons. To

easily place it in front of the TV

(raise the hand who hasn’t got a

television in the bedroom). To

sleep with the head towards North.

(For those who believe in the bio-

architecture theory asserting that

this position favours the best qua-

lity of the rest). To enjoy someti-

mes...a carousel (for the child still

inside of us). The bed is available in

two dimensions: the standard 210

cm diam. and the 230 cm diam for

longer souls. And for the bed

accessories, no troubles: you can

easily use standard bedding or ask

us for special round bed linen

movement.

Abbiamo detto che per Prealpi

ricerca del design, innovazione

tecnologica ed una giusta dose di

provocazione sono state da sem-

pre ragioni di vita. Con il progetto

Histoire d’Ô si è raggiunto l’apice

di questa filosofia. In un singolo

prodotto si è riusciti a fondere la

qualità progettuale con l’originali-

tà del movimento. Sì, perché

questo letto, oltre che fisso, può

essere anche girevole con movi-

mento manuale o motorizzato.

Perché girevole? Per una serie di

motivi. Per una collocazione

ideale di fronte al video (alzi la

mano chi non ha la televisione in

camera). Per un opportuno posi-

zionamento con la testa rivolta al

Nord (per chi condivide la teoria

della bioarchitettura che sostiene

che questa posizione favorisca la

buona qualità del riposo). Per

qualche giro in…giostra (per il

bambino che ancora c’è in ognu-

no di noi). Il letto è disponibile in

due misure: la standard di 210

cm di diametro e i 230 cm per le

anime lunghe. E per il corredo,

nessuna preoccupazione: si può

usare tranquillamente la bianche-

ria normale oppure richiedere

all’azienda i coordinati specifici

per questo letto.

Wardrobe system studied to

respect its main function: to con-

tain. And for this reason, they have

to be capacious, functional, practi-

cal, easy to access and with an

enjoyable inside. Aesthetically

speaking, there are two theories.

Some say that the wardrobe has to

be as less evident as possible,

nearly invisible. Others say that it

has to be a real piece of furniture

to stress with strong finishes.

Prealpi presents its complete war-

drobe program where, in addition

to all (mat or high gloss) the RAL

lacquered colours and to the woo-

den finishes, the are also special

and new proposals such as lac-

quered glass with grooves, “milleri-

ghe”, (thin stripes) mirrors, acid-

etched and bronzed mirrors, fabric

details. Everything is available in

three standard heights or in any

requested height. And moreover

the corners, the end terminals, the

possibility to combine hinged with

sliding doors. For any other requi-

rements, do not hesitate to ask

for...

Più genericamente definiti “con-

tenitori” per la loro funzione pri-

maria che è appunto quella di

contenere. E per questo prima di

tutto devono essere capienti, fun-

zionali, pratici, di facile accesso e

agevolmente fruibili all’interno.

Per il lato estetico esistono due

differenti scuole di pensiero. Per

alcuni l’armadiatura deve essere

il meno evidente possibile, quasi

invisibile, altri invece lo conside-

rano un oggetto d’arredo da met-

tere in risalto con finiture anche di

forte effetto. Prealpi presenta il

suo programma armadi dove

oltre a tutti i laccati della cartella

RAL, opachi o lucidi spazzolati, e

alle varie essenze del legno pro-

pone anche finiture particolari

come il vetro verniciato con intar-

si, gli specchi “millerighe”, gli

specchi acidati e bronzati, gli

inserti in tessuto. Tutto questo

disponibile in tre altezze di serie,

con qualsiasi taglio a misura,

l’angolo spogliatoio, i terminali, la

possibilità di abbinare ante bat-
