Allan Krulak

Allan Krulak, VP-Director of Community Affairs, Forest City Enterprises, Retired, spent over 30 years with Forest City as the driving force behind the company’s commitment to community interests and service. Allan lent his expertise and leadership to numerous non-profits, with particular dedication to

Look Up to Cleveland, Shoes for Kids, and United Way. As a Pepper Pike city councilman for 30 years as well as a supporter of numerous political campaigns, Allan is a passionate advocate for Cleveland.

Allan was instrumental in fostering the partnership between Forest City and Milestones Autism Organization. After several years of supporting Milestones’ annual conference, Allan got personally involved with the planning of its first corporate education seminar

which helped to introduce companies to the opportunities of hiring individuals with developmental disabilities. His ongoing support and confidence in Milestones’

mission has helped the organization to better serve the autism community.

Milestones 2013 Honorees

The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation has invested more than $100 million to assist Greater Cleveland’s organizations and leaders to improve the health and well-being of the

Jewish and general communities now and for generations to come. The Foundation has had a special interest in the growing epidemic of autism and in seeking ways to support families impacted by autism.

Since granting the organization’s initial seed money for the 2003 Conference, the Foundation has continued to support the expansion of Milestones from a volunteer organization to a professional

agency serving families of children through adults. The Foundation's grants were instrumental in the development of Milestones School Team Training and its newest program, the Roadmap to Adulthood.

Annual ConferencesMilestones’ annual conferences provide research and information on practical, evidence-based strategies that can be implemented immediately at home, school, and in the community. Local and national speakers share their expertise and know-how.

Coaching and ConsultationsMilestones’ staff offers coaching by phone, email, or in person addressing concerns spanning a new diagnosis through transition planning and adult services. Consultations and action plans are tailored to individual needs.

Parent and Professional WorkshopsMilestones has educated thousands of parents and professionals giving them the tools they need to succeed. Workshops can be customized for a specific agency, school, or family.

Milestones School Team Training Educators from 47 local school districts have attended this training, learning behavioral strategies to improve student outcomes.

Camp Milestones Camp Milestones is a fun, behaviorally based summer camp experience for individuals with autism and typical peers. Camp activities are focused on children’s educational goals.

the Roadmap to Adulthood Project empowers families, schools and community providers.

Model internship ProgramMilestones developed a model for community-based internships for high school students with autism, based on its experience with eight students from Beachwood and Monarch Schools. With the support of The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation and the Meisel Family Foundation, Milestones is placing and supervising ten additional students at local businesses. The goal is to increase access to such internships across the community.

Blue and Gold Buddies Social ProgramJohn Carroll University's Beta Theta Pi fraternity brothers are trained by Milestones to coach young adults on the spectrum to develop social skills. They have a great time bowling, playing games, and attending sporting events.
