Learning Objectives

Targeting Potential Employees

• Social Media Network– Skilled Professionals = LinkedIn

– Low-Skill Positions = Twitter or Facebook

• Determine – Join and participate in online groups your potential employees are

interested in

• Ask Current Employees– Who do they follow? Want a $5 gift card for telling all your FB friends

you found a job with us and it amazing??!!? Be sure to mention us!– Ask employees to Follow your Facebook or Twitter page for a small

incentive. Encourage incentives for ‘sharing’ or ‘retweets’ that lead to jobs

• Twitter is a global platform for users to share thoughts, news, ideas, jokes in 140 characters or less.

• Users can “follow” each other to keep tabs on people

• “Trends” occur when people tweet about the same topic or join in on a larger conversation using hashtags (more on that later…)

• Everything on Twitter is public unless you “protect” your tweets

Tweet Tips

• Give 80% - Take 20%• Only Follow Relevant Handles• Avd. 2 mny abrvs.• Shorten links by using a service like bit.ly• Add pictures where you can! • Don’t just push out information - join a larger conversation

with other attendees (shameless plug: #CSPConference2016)

What to say and how to say it
