Finding the True Reason of Why are we here !

Some Important Questions! What Meeting is this ?What is Evangelism ?Who is the Evangelist? What are we doing exactly?-Why are all we meeting here ?Main Problem ?! (Evaluation)Where are we going by this? Our ServiceConc.

What is Evangelism? Evangelism is the announcement,

proclamation, and/or preaching of the gospel

(1 Corinthians 15:1-4), the good news of and about Jesus Christ .

The English word “evangelism” comes from the Greek word euaggelion.

Most literally translated in the noun form, euaggelion means: “gospel” or “good news.” In the verb form the meaning of the word changes slightly to “announce” or “bring good news.”

The Greek word in its various forms appears fifty-five times in the New Testament. In addition to the before-mentioned translations, the Greek word is also translated as “preach.”

Who is the Evangelist ?!Evangelist;(n)

A person who brings or announces good news;

One who promotes something enthusiastically.

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer (apologia) to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

-1 Peter 3:15

Acts 1:4-7“And being assembled together with them, He

commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,

And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The Inner-Sanctuary:

“I think the quality of our spiritual life is what is most important. There is NOT some special argument that makes someone a Christian. It is the work of God in the heart. ”

- Fr. Peter Farrington

- “The main task of the Apologist is the Apologist himself”- Ravi Zacharias

OUR SOURCE OF POWER

And I think it requires spiritual preparation of ourselves especially, but also continuing prayer for those we are concerned about. We must never image evangelism as a matter of technique. It is a matter of spirituality.

There are several reasons why our preaching is not effective:

i. We are not effective spiritual persons ourselves. We do not have the grace of God overflowing from us to do his will.

ii. We have not truly experienced the things we are trying to tell others about. At some level we are still not able to talk about things we have experienced and participated in as being true.

iii. We are not engaging in mission as a matter of our whole life.

We think that we will go out and "do evangelism" rather than live as those who are always open to the service of the Gospel.

iv. We may be in a time of sowing or a time of the proof of our own faithfulness.

How long will we keep serving in patient hope and obedience? Do we demand instant results?

v.

Do we love enough? Are we holy?

Are we spiritual men and women? Are we supported by prayer?

Do we fast for our service? The fruit of evangelism is the outpouring of the

fruitfulness of our own lives.

What are we doing exactly?

-What is the structure of our Service ?

-Why are we meeting here ?

- When God closes a country!

God’s Vision / Our Vision“Who desires all people to be saved

and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

1 Timothy 2:4

“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

-Romans 12:5

Do I desire All people to be saved ? Or Just my Country that I serve in ?!

Do I isolate my team from the other teams/Service ?

When God closes a Country He is telling you Focus on Jerusalem.

Acts 2:44-47Now all who believed were together, and

had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church[h] daily those who were being saved.

“Our preaching should also be directed towards those members of our own community who are not really Christian. If we cannot convince them then who can we convince?

But we always need more love, more genuine concern for people, more servant-heartedness. Opportunities for sharing the Gospel come when we share the fruits of the Gospel that are found in our own hearts.”

- Fr. Peter Farrington
