Petrovski, Soni (b. January 4, 1977, Sydney). Australian-born Macedonian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe.Petrovski studied composition with Goce Kolarovski at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Faculty of Music in Skopje from 1994-2001. He received his Master degree at the same Faculty. He has also attended masterclasses with Brian Ferneyhough, Aleksandr Radvilovich, Alexander Shchetynsky and others.Among his honors are a prize in the Peace in the Balkans competition (1994, for Suite for Clarinet), a prize in the A Place on the Disc competition of Jeunesses Musicales of Macedonia (2001, for his Concert Piece for piano and strings) and the Pance Peshev Award of the Composers Asssociation of Macedonia (2009, for Zodiac for orchestra).He teaches Musical forms and analysis and Counterpoint at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University Faculty of Music in Skopje since 2002.
