Tuesday,Tuesday, 1 July: First stop: Johannesburg! Welcome to South Africa! Don’t get too comfortable: you’re only passing through the financial capital of SA! Board a quick final flight to Port Elizabeth. Be sure to pack warm: it’s winter here! After our team meets you at the airport, we’ll bring you to a local hotel to sleep off the jet lag!

Wednesday,Wednesday, 2 July: We’re off to the Festival! The Festival! The King’s Festival? Shuttles will bring you 90 minutes north to Grahamstown and the home of the 2014 National Arts Festival. Keep your eyes peeled - you may even catch a glimpse of a giraffe poking his head over fencing. We’ll get settled into your dorms and spend the afternoon in orientation.

Thursday,Thursday, 3 July: Today’s the most exciting day to be in town: it’s the Opening Day of the Festival! Join thousands of others from around the world to celebrate the arts. We’ll be teching your show and introducing you to your festival venue.

Friday,Friday, 4 July - Tuesday, 8 July: Perform in the Fringe Festival at Graha-mstown! Spend your downtime when you’re not performing enjoying other great shows (we’ve included seven tickets), hitting up the Village Green market, enjoying the galleries and live musicians and taking in the buzz! As part of the International High School Theatre Exchange, you’ll be part of the Sundowner Series at the Monument previewing your show, as well as handing out fliers and advertising your show around town!

Wednesday, 9 July: Pack up, because you’re about to see South Africa the best way you can: from the road! We’ll head south from Grahamstown to our first stop at Addo National Elephant Park where wild elephants walk free and you may even spot a lion. After a lunch there, we’ll continue through the heart of the Garden Route to Mossel Bay because we’re going on safari! We’ll test your tracking skills and see how many animals you can find!

Thursday,Thursday, 10 July: Safari Day! We’ll do a drive at sunrise and at sunset, when animals are most active. In between, enjoy the holiday break. You’ll need lots of energy for our next leg of the trip!

Friday, 11 July: Wake up bright and early for a sunrise game drive and then we’re off to the crown jewel of Africa: Cape Town, the second largest city in South Africa. Tonight we’ll meet your sister school!

Saturday,Saturday, 12 July: Orientation Day in Cape Town! Grab your cameras: we’ll be all over the city. Catch the aerial cableway up beautiful Table Mountain, spot celebrities in Camps Bay and head to V&A Waterfront to enjoy some great window shopping. From there, we’ll take a sunset harbor cruise to catch some incredible views of the Mother City.

Sunday,Sunday, 13 July: Join your sister school in an outreach day in the town-ships of Cape Town! We’ll be using theatre games as a way to give back, play and inspire local kids. We’ll also be making and serving lunches for the community. Spend the afternoon with your sister school!
