A LABYRINTH OF LAGOONS, LAKES AND HIDDEN CHANNELS, THE OKAVANGO DELTA IS UNQUESTIONABLY ONE-OF-A-KIND.

If one describes the Okavango, words write themselves... Lagoons, islands and islets of various sizes link under infinitely tall palms throwing their shade over crystal pools, forest glades and grassy knolls.

The Okavango is the world’s largest inland delta covering an area of more than 15,000 square kms - a little smaller than Israel or half the size of Switzerland.

Its water is astonishingly clean and pure, so much so, it’s drinkable; almost certainly due to its passing through sparsely populated areas on its journey from Angola. The overall length of the Delta from the border to the Thamalakane River is a little under 300kms and so the core of the Delta is approximately 200km from end to end.

On the mainland and among the islands in the delta, lions, elephants, hyenas, wild dog, buffalo, hippo and crocodiles congregate. Fishing can take place anywhere, for a more challenging experience, fishing camps north of the delta, in the Panhandle are ideal. The Okavango offers bird watching, game viewing, mokoro activities, photography and a type of relaxation unparalleled.

Mack Air (Pty) Ltd is a non-scheduled air charter company based in Northern Botswana. Due to the sheer remoteness of this part of the world and the fact that most of the lodges and camps within the region are only accessible by air, non-scheduled flight operations have become an inherent part and cornerstone of the travel industry within Botswana. Mack Air utilises the town of Maun as its hub; considered to be the gateway to the magnificent Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, Maun is ideally situated for us to be able to offer a wide spectrum of routes to exciting destinations, from in and around the Okavango Delta, to Kasane, Livingstone, Victoria Falls, Windhoek and Johannesburg.

Mack Air was established in 1994 with the use of just one Cessna 206 aircraft. Travelling on a mobile safari provides an insight into areas and wildlife not necessarily available to guests on a typical fly-in safari. This Botswana Luxury Guided Mobile Safari offers guests the additional opportunity to enjoy the luxury and comfort of the Desert & Delta Safaris lodges and camps, which are all strategically located within Botswana’s famous game reserves and National Parks, making this a unique and exclusive mobile experience.

Each departure is accompanied by a professional safari guide for the duration of the safari, providing a unique and personal insight into the wonders of these wilderness destinations. With a maximum of six participants per departure, guests travel in fully equipped and customised luxury safari vehicles.

The essence of these safaris lies within the ability to explore the destination with a professional guide and at the same time not having to be tied into the scheduled activity times and regime of the lodges and camps.

Safaris operate on a series of scheduled departure dates based on a minimum of two people per departure. These Luxury Accommodated Guided Mobile Safaris are also booked by private small groups,families or individuals who are seeking a flexible and exclusive safari experience to Botswana.

These safaris are fully inclusive of all services and operate in both directions between Maun and Kasane, making use of Desert & Delta Safari’s Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Moremi, Camp Okavango or Xugana Island Lodge and Leroo La Tau. These safaris are operated by Chobe Explorations, a sister company to Desert & Delta Safaris in Botswana.

Chobe Game Lodge is the only property on the banks of the Chobe River which is located within the boundaries of Chobe National Park. The lodge accommodates up to 94 people in absolute luxury.

All 47 rooms are river facing, and include complementary mini-bars, tea and coffee making facilities are air conditioned, have en-suite bathrooms and private terraces . In addition, four exclusive suites have their own separate lounges and recently refurbished infinity plunge pools. Other facilities include a fully equipped conference room, broadband Internet, a billiards room, library, beauty spa, gymnasium, a stylish cigar bar, swimming pool and river side Boma. Expansive decks next to the Chobe River are utilised for high teas and allow for guests to relax and enjoy the Chobe River scenery.

All safari activities are tailored to suit guests needs. Game drives, game viewing by small boats, sunset river cruises and star gazing after dinner are offered to guests. A variety of optional activities from playing golf to fishing excursions, undertaken from the nearby Kasane village, can be arranged for guests. Chobe Game Lodge is a leader in citizen development within the Botswana Tourism Industry and is proud to be acknowledged as the only property in Botswana with an active Female Guide training program and guiding team. In addition to its 5 star grading, Chobe Game Lodge is one of the first properties in Botswana to be both Green and Eco graded by Botswana Tourism Organisation.

At the edge of the Kasane Forest, overlooking an active waterhole in the Lesoma Valley lies Elephant Valley Lodge. Both the valley and the forest form part of the world renowned Chobe National Park.

Built inconspicuously under sturdy acacia thorns, home to breeding colonies of White Backed Vultures are twenty carefully appointed Meru Style Safari Tents. The tents have recently been upgraded and boast comfortable twin beds, private patios and en suite bathrooms featuring twin basins and showers as well as tea and coffee making facilities, fans, mini safes and electric blankets. The main areas feature a raised dining room, breakfast deck, intimate lounge and bar as well as an open air dinner boma all designed to focus around the ever active waterhole as well as a large swimming pool.

The twelve forest tents and eight valley tents that overlook the waterhole have beencarefully located to ensure privacy and comfort. Perhaps the most attractive feature of this lodge is the waterhole that boasts large volumes of game at any time of the day including the rare sable antelope, giraffe, elephants, lions, leopard, hyena, and wild dogs to name but a few examples.

Activities include morning boat cruises and afternoon game drives with a sundowner into the Chobe National Park with the opportunity to view hippo, crocodile, lechwe, puku, fish eagles as well as all the big game. Our unique location also allows us to offer night drives and bush walks in the valley subject to weather conditions. Optional extra activities include fishing, day trips to the Victoria Falls and village tours.

Elephant Valley LodgeChobe National Park


An authentic jewel of the Okavango. As passionate custodians of one of Botswana’s original safari camps, the owners of Xakanaxa Camp have mindfully created an authentic bush camp that blends harmoniously with nature, whilst providing guests with exceptional comforts and extraordinary experiences. Set on raised wooden platforms under the shade of towering trees, Xakanaxa’s thatched dining room, lounge/bar area, curio shop, fire deck and a new swimming pool provide a restful sanctuary with magnificent river views.

Accommodation for 24 guests is in twelve spacious and tastefully furnished tents with twin or double beds and en-suite showers, hand basins and toilet facilities. Situated on the fringes of the lagoon, each tented suite has a private viewing deck with comfortable loungers. Located in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, the camp is set on the banks of the pristine Khwai River that overlooks the Xakanaxa Lagoon.

The ancient riverine forests, open savanna, serpentine channels as well as seasonal floodplains which surround the camp, make for a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora. The camp is one of few offering a year-round land and water game viewing experience in open land rovers, powerboats or dug-out canoes known locally as mokoros. The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of elephant, buffalo, wild dog, hyena, giraffe, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, lechwe, lion, leopard and cheetah, amongst others. Birding is spectacular especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding.

Xakanaxa CampMoremi Game Reserve | Okavango Delta

Linyanti Bush Camp is a small, intimate 12 bedded tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marshes in a private reserve, which borders the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave. The camp is limited to small exclusive groups who seek a personalised experience in a private concession away from the main tourist routes.

Activities from the camp consist of game drives, walking, spot lighting and hides. The area is best known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers especially during the dry season. Lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and a number of the plains game can be enjoyed at Linyanti.

Linyanti Ebony Camp - Built on raised decking overlooking the Linyanti Marsh, this new 8-bedded intimate tented camp offers you stunning views of the Linyanti River. Game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles, walking excursions with an armed professional guide, boating and fishing in the recently replenished water-filled lagoons, and mokoro excursions are all on offer to provide you the opportunity to enjoy this unique riverscape.

The well-appointed accommodation includes 3 twin bedded tents and 1 luxury family room. A private dining and lounge area with a splash pool makes the camp a perfect choice for family experiences or small groups. Linyanti Ebony can be booked exclusively with a minimum of 6 people and is open all year round.

Meno A Kwena Tented Camp is ideally located for safaris into three ecologically pristine wildlife sanctuaries including the Okavango Delta & Makgadikgadi Saltpans system and the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The guest areas consist of a large L-shaped marquee, which houses the kitchen, bar, dining area, lounge complete with full reference library. The camp fire and plunge pool overlook the Boteti River and afford spectacular photographic opportunities when the wildlife come down to drink.

Meno A Kwena Tented Camp accommodates up to 16 guests in eight fully serviced canvas tents. The camp is designed to take full advantage of the most incredible view in Botswana. All tents are within an enclosure of thorny branches for safety from wandering wildlife, and hidden amongst the natural vegetation for privacy. Each tent has full view of the Boteti River where the wildlife come to drink from the dry Kalahari.

The ultimate experience of an African safari is watching endless herds of wildlife drinking at the river from a canvas tent, or taking a shower in full view of the setting sun as the first roar of a lion echoes across the river below. We also have year round access to two national parks and a wildlife reserve. Nomadic and migrant wildlife is influenced by water availability and this determines exactly where safaris are operated from season to season. The meerkat experience and bushman experience complete the safari offerings.

Meno A Kwena Tented CampMakgadikgadi Pans National Park

The Savuti has developed a reputation over the years as a prime area to view predators in Botswana, especially lion and spotted hyena. The Savuti lies within the Chobe National Park and boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the African continent.

The Savuti Channel itself was a river and in 1982, it abruptly stopped flowing. The event was so unusual, it was extensively covered by various wildlife documentaries. Then, in 2010, the Savuti starting flowing again!

In 2009 the Botswana Government decided to privatise numerous public campsites and Ren and Connie Mbulawa were of the first Botswana citizens to own such a campsite. Camp Savuti is a small, intimate camp of 5 Meru tents accommodating a maximum of 10 guests in comfort and style. The tents have been positioned to ensure privacy and a modest level of exclusivity throughout the camp and each tent sits on a platform, with stunning views over the Savuti Channel.

The guest areas, feature a comfortable and intimate lounge, bar and dining area overlooking the Savuti Channel.

Camp SavutiChobe National Park


Camp Linyanti is a small, intimate camp of 5 Meru tents accommodating a maximum of 10 guests in comfort and style. Camp Linyanti is located with the “old” Linyanti Public Campsite. This often forgotten corner of Botswana offers some of the very best game viewing and beautiful scenery in Botswana. Enjoy delightful sundowners on your own balcony overlooking the great Linynati River Lagoon and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip in the horizon!

The tents have been positioned to ensure privacy and a modest level of exclusivity throughout the camp and each tent sits on a platform, with stunning views over the Linyanti Marsh. In the guest areas, there is a comfortable and intimate lounge, bar and dining area overlooking the Linyanti.

The tents are large and spacious with en-suite facilities including flush toilet and safarishower. Given the riverian vegetation inhabited by all sorts of bird species, the majestic hippos and all mammalian species from the small five to the Big Five(excluding rhino), Camp Linyanti offers the following activities below:

Game DrivesMokoro activities (dugout canoe)Charter access by light aircraft via Savuti airstrip, 40 minutes from Maun, 40 minutes from Kasane, 20 -40 minutes from most other lodges in northern Botswana. Self Drive access is possible, a four-wheel drive vehicle is required.

Camp LinyantiChobe National Park

Mapula Lodge is situated in the north-eastern area of the Okavango Delta, just outside the Moremi Game Reserve. The lodge is on a private area and is therefore able to offer a full spectrum of activities, all with a guide and tracker. The main guest area, with its sweeping decks, overlooks the permanent lagoon where a resident pod of hippopotamus resides. Here you will find the comfortable lounge, dining area and a bar with one of the best views in the Okavango Delta. In addition, there is also a small library and swimming pool.

Each of the 8 luxury chalets has a traditional design and the use of wood provides unique detail. The attention to detail and use of local craftsmanship in the construction of the chalets is particularly impressive and attractive. The units all boast a small lounge and a large bathroom with bathtub, twin sinks and an outside shower.

Game viewing is particularly good in this area and the trees around the Lodge are home to a huge variety of birds. Being in a permanent water area, Mapula lodge can offer year round water activities, which is especially important during January - May when water levels in the Okavango can become too low in most areas to allow the use of a mokoro.

Walking safaris are offered with experienced guides and tracker and night drives in search of nocturnal animals. In the early morning and late afternoons, game drives are conducted in comfortable, open safari vehicles.

Mapula LodgeNorth Eastern Okavango Delta


Grasslands Bushman Lodge is situated on the western side of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in the Ghanzi district of Botswana. The lodge is in a private wildlife reserve of some 15 000 hectares. The main guest areas can be divided into three; a large lounge and dining room, a huge, separate covered bar area that also doubles up as a dining area and an outside lounge area which is adjacent to the swimming pool. All the guest areas overlook a waterhole where a huge variety of wildlife can be seen from the comfort of easy chairs or from the pool area. Accommodation is in comfortable ensuite chalets with shower, basin and toilet. Electricity is provided during most parts of the day by means of a generator.

The lodge is somewhat different from most others you will encounter in Botswana. We are a family concern and proud citizens of Botswana. Apart from the family, the rest of our staff compliment is made up entirely of San (Bushmen), most having worked alongside our family for generations. In fact, our family has lived in the Ghanzi district for over 120 years. Our hospitality can best be described as a home away from home as a sense of genuine ease prevails…a relaxed and informal holiday…after all, holidays are meant to be relaxing”.

Grasslands Bushman LodgeCentral Kalahari

Oddballs’ is situated on the edge of Chief’s Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp is accessible by light aircraft only. On arrival, you will be met at the airstrip by your professional guide, and welcomed to the island. Accommodation is in dome tents, fully equipped, set on elevated wooden decks and shaded by trees. The semi-detached private bathrooms have hot and cold running water, an al fresco bucket shower, basin and flushing lavatory The activities at Oddballs’ usually start by mokoro (using only the genuine, wooden, hand-made article), after which you will walk on some of the larger islands in the area. Walking is an integral and significant part of the experience at any time of year, the extent of the walks depending on your tastes.

Guests usually go out in the early morning, return for a late breakfast, relax, birdwatch and siesta at midday, and go out again in the afternoon after a light lunch. We will also prepare a picnic lunch for those guests wishing to stay out the whole day. Oddballs’ caters to the active traveller and represents superb value for money in the Okavango Delta.

KananaOkavango Delta

Kanana is a tented camp built among spectacular shade trees of ebony, knobthorn acacia and sausage species. Eight spacious, well appointed tents with en-suite facilities are situated on raised decking and front onto the floodplains. The dining and sitting areas are also raised on decking and encircle an ancient fig tree, which is the focal point of the camp’s public areas.

Kanana offers walking, mokoro excursions, fishing. Both day and night game drives, are conducted in specially designed vehicles, as well as motorboat expeditions to see the Kanana heronry.

The heronry is one of the few places in Southern Africa where pink-backed pelican are seen in their breeding plumage. Exploring the Okavango Delta by mokoro is an ideal and romantic way to sample the varied animal and bird life. This idyllic setting makes for exciting game walks with an armed professional guide. The camp managers and the guides will assist you in tailoring your activities whilst at Kanana.

OkutiMoremi Game Reserve

At Okuti you will discover the treasure trove of wildlife that inhabits the Moremi Game Reserve, one of Botswana’s prime wilderness areas. The ceiling fan cooled rooms have en-suite bathroom and both indoor and outdoor showers. Each room has a magnificent view of the Xakanaxa River. Public areas include a dining room, sitting room, swimming pool and camp fire.

Guests liaise with the camp managers and their guide to plan their days - on game drives where they explore the Xakanaxa area in open safari vehicles as well as motor-boating on the waters of the Okavango Delta. The open floodplains and dense mopane forests of the Moremi Game Reserve are famous for the wide variety of animals the habitat supports.

There are several prides of lion resident in the area, nearby woodlands are excellent for leopard sightings and if you are lucky, a wild dog pack may pass through during your stay.


The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, populated by up to 30000 zebra and wildebeest accompanied by predators, offers guests the chance to experience the exhilaration of seeing large concentrations of game.

Island Safari LodgeMaun

Island Safari Lodge is situated just 12km North of Maun Airport along the Thamalakane River. With newly refurbished comfortable and affordable accommodation and a well equipped camping site is the perfect place to launch your attack on Botswana’s Wilderness Areas.

Despite many changes over the years, the spirit and character that defined Island Safari Lodge, as conceptualised and built by Tony Graham in 1973, still exists today. The lodge has maintained its legendary status in Maun and return guests take as much pride in the renovations and refurbishments as the owners do - all in an attempt to keep facilities up to date with modern standards while retaining decades worth of irreplaceable charm. The name refers to the fact that in high water seasons the lodge has, like other islands, been totally surrounded by water. Although this has not occurred for a number of years, everyone still hopes that the annual delta flood will comply, and with spill over into rivers and turn the lodge into a true island again.

Lebala CampKwando Concession

Hidden in the southern portion of the extensive Kwando wilderness of 232 000 hectares is Lebala. Kwando Lebala comprises 8 luxuriously spacious tents on Zimbabwean teak decks. Each tent is surrounded by spectacular shade cloth walls, with a variety of curtains and shades, sliding doors and a spacious bedroom area, bathroom including a Victorian claw bathtub, double basins, outside double showers, separate toilet and fans.

Lebala is the Tswana word for wide-open plains, and each tent has extensive views over expansive tracts of plains and wetlands that form part of the Kwando-Linyanti flood plain system. Excellent general game abounds on the broad plains, creating spectacular scenery adorned with herds of plains game and the ever attendant predators. Lebala offers regular and reliable sightings of elephant,lion, wild dog, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, tsessebe, kudu, lechwe, impala, wildebeest and waterbuck.

LagoonKwando Concession

Shaded under massive African Ebony trees,situated centrally in the extensive Kwando wilderness of 232 000 hectares is Lagoon.

Lagoon comprises 8 spacious purpose designed tents ( 1 is a family room) with views over the private lagoon formed by the everchanging Kwando River. Each tent comprises a bedroom area with a spacious bathroom en-suite. The bathroom has a double basin set in an indigenous Mukwa wood stand and a flush loo. The spacious outdoor showers capture the essence of Africa that is Kwando.

Lagoon offers regular and reliable sightings of elephant,lion, wild dog, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, tsessebe, impala, wildebeest, buffalo and waterbuck in stunning settings. Whilst here you can indulge in an evening boat cruise or action packed game drives - Lagoon is famous for its consistent wild dog sightings.

Xugana Island LodgeOkavango Delta

Located within the permanent Okavango Delta, the newly refurbished Xugana Island Lodge is the perfect retreat from which to explore this incredible water wilderness.

Accommodating a maximum of 16 guests in reed and thatch lagoon facing en-suite chalets, each with enlarged private viewing deck. The open-sided thatch lounge, bar and dining areas are under the ebony and African Mangosteen tree canopy.

Expansive wooden decks lead out onto the edge of the lagoon. The swimming pool, located in the gardens in the centre of the island, is a perfect place to relax. The boma and al fresco dining areas overlook the Xugana Lagoon’s expanse of pristine water. Guests can explore by motor boat, mokoro, or take guided walks on surrounding islands in the concession, providing the opportunity to experience a classic Okavango Delta Safari. Birdwatching opportunities are outstanding and fishing for bream and tiger fish is offered.


KwaraKwando Concession

Kwara is situated on the edge of the permanent waters of the world renowned Okavango Delta, and shares a common boundary with Moremi Game Reserve. Due to the specific location of the camp, Kwara is able to offer power boating, fishing, mokoro trips, walks and game drives - all year round.

In addition Kwara is in a large private concession enabling the game drives to operate both off road and at night, ideal for viewing nocturnal animals including leopard, lion, wild dog, hyena and smaller predators.

Kwara, has a small splash pool and a gift shop. The camp consists of 8 luxury tents accommodating 16 guests. There is one honeymoon suite. The camp setting in a tall treed island, on the edge of the Okavango Delta, completes the picture of this special camp.

Little KwaraKwando Concession

Little Kwara is situated on a treed island on the edge of the permanent waters of the world-renowned Okavango Delta, sharing a common boundary with the Moremi Game Reserve.

This camp is an intimate five-tent camp and is consistent with the Kwando Safaris promise: intimate camps with personal service - vintage Africa. Hidden amongst trees, the spacious tents are elevated into the tree canopy on wooden decks, each with its own private veranda and en-suite facilities comprising bathroom with bath and an inside/outside shower.

This is an ideal camp for exclusive use by small groups and families. Little Kwara offers all the following activities - mokoro trips, double deck boat cruises, island walks as well as game drives both off road and at night. Fishing is available on request.

Nxai PanNxai Pan National Park

Nxai Pan, a camp situated in the majestic Nxai Pan National Park, is fully solar-powered and situated on an amazing waterhole.

8 Purpose-built desert rooms ( 1 is a family room) all offer private balconies, fans and en-suite bathrooms with inside and outside showers. The pan is a fossilised lake bed about 40km2 in size. Nxai Pan is known for its huge springbok population, and once the rains start, gemsbok, elephant and zebras migrate to this region.

These large herds of animals attract many predators - lion, cheetah, jackal, Spotted and the elusive Brown hyena, as well as wild dogs and leopard.

Activities whilst at Nxai Pan include gamedrives, nature/survival walks, star gazing and trips to the famous Baines Baobabs.

Tau Pan is a camp situated inside the world famous Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) right on the edge of the beautiful Tau Pan. This area is known for being one of Africa’s last true wild areas. 8 Purpose built desert rooms (one of which is a family room) all with private deck, fans, en-suite bathrooms with inside and outside showers - this camp is a must for any Botswana itinerary. During the rainy season this is one of the best game viewing areas in Botswana, home to mammals such springbok, gemsbok, eland, red hartebeest and wildebeest in their thousands and it is a sight to behold to watch the herds congregate on the pans to graze. Predators abound with plentiful lions, cheetah, leopard and jackals. Brown hyenas and wild dogs are also found in the area.

The dry season (May- September) is also a special time to visit the CKGR as the animals congregate close to any surface water and pans. Activities offered are game drives, star gazing, nature walks and a very special bushman interaction.

Sanctuary Chief’s Camp is located on Chief’s Island, one of the many islands created by the seasonal floodwaters of the Okavango.The vast number of animals who congregate here make it easy to understand why the area was put aside for the chief. At Kings Pool Camp, the accommodation is luxurious, the wildlife spectacular. Nine well appointed tents each have a large bedroom area, lounge, private plunge pool and ‘sala’.

The Linyanti area has a large wildlife resource with a wide variety of species, but it is most noted for its very large elephant population, which can reach enormous densities during dry winter months. Other game is abundant, such as impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, bushbuck and their predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and Spotted hyena.

Activities include day and night game drives and walks. Kings Pool is also famed for its original underground hide, with the water at eye level - seeing elephant feet and trunks almost within touching distance while safely inside is an extraordinary experience.

Banoka Bush CampOkavango Delta

On the banks of the Khwai River, the northernmost ‘finger’ of the Okavango Delta’s alluvial fan, in the Khwai Development Trust’s community concession (NG18), adjoining Moremi Game Reserve - 20km from Moremi Game Reserve’s north gate.

Winter season: June to October, when the annual Okavango flood transforms the area into a water wonderland allowing wider exploration by mokoro.

Game uses woodlands and the floodplain edge and, as the flood recedes and exposes nutritious grasses, herds of grazers are drawn on to the floodplains followed by the predators. The area gets progressively drier until the Summer season’s rains arrive Summer season: November to May, when the summer showers result in the shooting of nutritious grasses attracting both the herbivores and predators and creating lush summer scenes enticing birds, breeding frogs and antelope births, heralding a season of abundance.

&Beyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge Okavango Delta

&Beyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge is set in one of the world’s most unique regions, the Okavango Delta. Renowned for lush waterways and abundant wildlife, the Okavango is home to aquatic and land species, including elegant red lechwe and shysitatunga.

Xigera Camp is located on a riverine island right in the heart of the Okavango Delta. This part of the Moremi Game Reserve is a true wetland paradise, with Xigera Camp surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation.

Xigera Camp consists of ten luxuriously furnished tented rooms-each with en-suite facilities and an outdoor shower. Raised on wooden platforms and walkways, each tent offers superb views of the seasonal Okavango Delta floodplains and lagoon.

The feeling of living in the midst of a riverine forest is one of the features of Xigera Camp. Permanent water year-round allows a variety of activities such as mokoro trips, game drives and motor boat outings.

Xigera Camp is a delight for birdwatchers, with Pel’s fishing owl, African Skimmer, and a host of raptors and colourful kingfishers to be seen. An abundance of wildlife includes red lechwe, lion and spotted hyaena.


Overlooking the legendary Chiefs Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Gunn’s Camp is one of the last few remaining luxury, vintage safari camps. This small and intimate camp is located on the same Ntswi Island as its sister property Moremi Crossing. The camp has recently been transformed by an extensive refurbishment programme that culminated in 6 new, luxury vintage-style safari tents. Each tent has its own private and spacious lounge as well as an expansive veranda. All tents are discreetly set within the densely treed island thus ensuring privacy and tranquility. Guests have access to the elevated bar, lounge, dining room and swimming pool.

Activities on offer are half or full day mokoro trips with game walks, bush walks with picnic lunch, wilderness camping, sunset motorboat cruises and fishing. The camp is accessible from Maun by a short 15-20minutes scenic flight over Okavango Delta.

Located near the most southern part of Chiefs Island, Moremi Crossing is situated on a small palm fringed island called Ntswi which is surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains.

An avalanche of water, visible from miles away as the spray billows up like giant smoke signals. An incredible vantage point is the Knife-edge Bridge where visitors can have the finest view of the Eastern Cataract and the main falls as well as the boiling pot. Because of the spray from the falls - the Rain Forest at Victoria Falls is the only place on earth that it rains 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During a full moon you can see a moon bow at Victoria Falls. This can be seen through the spray at night instead of during the day as a rainbow.

Remarkably preserved in its natural state, Victoria Falls inspires visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone in the 1860’s. The falls and the surrounding area have been declared National Parks and a World Heritage Site, thus preserving the area from excessive commercialisation. Wonderful activities surround this spectacle, from bungee jumping and micro-lighting to white water rafting, canoeing and river cruises. Activities include game drives, walking and bird watching. Somalisa Acacia Camp is positioned alongside the famous Somalisa Camp and is known as ‘the home of the elephants’. This charming camp caters for an intimate gathering of only 8 people. All the simple but luxurious tents are on slightly raised decks, under the dappled canopy of a grove of Acacias on the western side of Somalisa. The camp enjoys its own private views of a small water hole, frequented by large herds of big game including buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe, and lion.

Sanctuary Zebra Plains is the first true luxury walking safari camp of its kind with just four traditional tents – two doubles and two twins. accommodating a maximum of six guests, allowing for an intimate exploration of the South Luangwa.
