Your guide will brief you in the morning and present you the different possible routes and options to choose from, but all have the same goal: Ventoux’s summit at 1912m. This mythical mountain has influenced many Tours de France over the years being famous for its steep ascent, its heat, its barren and exposed peak and simply its legend. Lance Armstrong himself called it “the hardest climb in the Tour, bar none”. This is arguably the toughest bike climb in all of France with its 22 straight kilometres of climbing at an average of 7.5%, which, when mixed with strength-sapping heat or storm-force winds, can prove to be a challenge even for the fittest of cyclists.
