Robin Trower with very special guest Joanne Shaw TaylorWednesday 15 April

Robin Trower has been heralded as one of the most influential guitar players to come out of the British blues rock scene. Though other names may come to mind, none have the ‘signature sound and style’ of the man who was tagged by the press: ‘The White Hendrix’ back in the 70s. The result is a unique style of music all his own - NOT an imitation of Jimi at all - and a career of considerable merit.

We are delighted to announce that the very special guest for this show will be blues rock guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor, twice voted Best British Female Vocalist at the British Blues Awards.

Jeremy HardyWednesday 6 May

Jeremy Hardy begins his 4th decade as a stand-up this year. That’s a more dramatic way of saying he started 31 years ago and, without a lottery win, probably has at least another 31 years to go.

Last year, the tenth series of ‘Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation’ was broadcast on Radio 4. He is also well known for his appearances on ‘The News Quiz’ and ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’. Indeed, Alan Bennett recently said he likes him “but he’s only on the radio”.

However, Jeremy isn’t only on the radio. He is on the road all year round and has never stopped doing live shows since 1984. After briefly hibernating in the winter, he's back out on the road in 2015.

The Manfreds Friday 8 May

5-4-3-2-1 it's the Manfreds.

The '60s group Manfred Mann is now considered, more than ever, one of the finest and most respected bands from that era. Their numerous pop hits were R&B based with an undercurrent of jazz - a very unusual but winning combination of playing style and substance. As a result, their records have a timeless quality and some 53 years on The Manfreds, with original front man Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits along with a mix of Jazz and Blues songs, from some of their best-known albums.

Paul Jones, with his unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Mike Hugg on keyboards, Tom McGuinness on lead guitar, Rob Townsend on drums, Marcus Cliffe on bass guitar and Simon Currie on saxophone/flute. All excellent musicians who will provide a full evening’s entertainment with a few ‘surprise’ renditions of their work, not only with The Manfreds, but with their individual connections.

Roy Chubby Brown: Don’t Get Fit! Get Fat! LIVEFriday 29 May

Roy Chubby Brown returns to Exeter with his meatiest show yet!

He's still rude, he's still crude and this time he's turning headlines into punch lines as his rip-roaring brand of banter continues to burst bellies across the country.

Chubby doesn't hold back from sharing his outlandish views on news, women and gender, sailing so close to the mark that even the most seasoned of fans will be left gob-smacked.

As politically incorrect as ever 'The World's Most Outrageous Comedian' is far too rude for TV, so this live performance is the only place to catch the flamboyant comedian.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain: 30 Plucking YearsSaturday 19 September

We are delighted to welcome back to the Corn Exchange the amazing Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - for two performances.

Eight Ukuleles, sixteen hands, thirty two strings, sixteen million minutes, one billion seconds, thirty years. In June 2015 the Orchestra had clocked up sixteen million minutes of ukulele action. By September 2016 they will have been active for one billion seconds.

They play ukuleles, they sing, they say funny things, they whistle, but they bring a lot more to the table than that.

‘Pure entertainment’, ‘Magisterial’, ‘The best musical entertainment in the country’, ‘A much loved national institution’ – just some of the things audience members

and reviewers have said in attempting to encapsulate the indefinable magic and atmosphere of all round good humour, light heartedness, well being and joy which permeate the live concerts.

Among the venues they have sold out are the Royal Albert Hall (twice), Carnegie Hall (twice) and Sydney Opera House, but we think that secretly their favourite venue is Exeter Corn Exchange

If you know ‘The Ukes’ you won’t need any persuasion. If you don’t then book your tickets now, you won’t be disappointed.
