    Spirit vs Human Teaching

Over on a yahoogroup that I belong to we are discussing the relative benefits of being taught magic by humans vsspirits. If you have been reading this blog you will know that I value the combination of both very highly. It got methinking about how the spirits almost always use the language, perspectives, and technical knowledge that wealready possess to instruct us. For instance John Dee was a master Cryptographer, the spirits delivered knowledge tohim mostly through codes to be unraveled and names to be etracted from charts etc.

I was reading Frater !.D."s #$here Do Demons %ive today in the bathroom and I happened upon his discussion ofcyber magic. $hile this was written a while ago, and he probably has more about his development of it in 'erman, his description in the book did not deviate much from his description in his #(odels of (agic# article from )**)+

#he application of the as yet evolving information model has led to the discipline I have termed Cybermagic -fromcybernetics/ or the science of control systems/0. Contrary to the other models described above, Cybermagic doesnot rely on magical trance to achieve its effects. 1ather, the Cybermagician activates either his own main memorybanks, namely brain and spine -the 'olf2club chakra, so2called because of its shape reminiscent of a golf2club0 orthose of the target person. he desired information is then called up and transmitted 3uite similarly to a copycommand on an (42DO4 computer. he copy command analogy holds good insofar as the information -not havingmass0 is not actually lost/ in the process -as energy would be0 but rather is duplicated. his is an important point as itallows for the magician to perform his magic even in a state of very low physical power, possibly even when almostcompletely intoicated, as long as his basic life support systems/ are still functional and the command synta is

    employed correctly#

I had read this shortly after it was written and it didn"t really strike a chord with me. 5 lot has changed since then. Ihave been using a similar copy and paste magic for years. I have also been #programming# astral matter for a longtime, and thinking about it in those terms. (uch of ibetan 6uddhist (agic is based on what he would call the#Information (odel# and I never really thought about it before but in some ways digital thinking has helped meunderstand antric 7ye 1im (andala practice and how (andalas essentially function as magical engines or C8!"s. Iremember back in )***, 8enor 1inpoche and other lamas were telling everyone to go see the (atri because it isvery 6uddhist and will eplain a lot of how 9a:rayana works 2 that is pretty hip for a guy that was born in )*;< andraised in a country without a any modern technical infrastructure.

I have met several people who have practiced various types of magic that is even more directly influenced by thinkingabout things in the light of computers. I mentioned a cabal of Japanese (ages who work magic in ways inspired byhow they design video games -they keep their tech very secret and since I am not a game designer, I do not 3ualify toget in on it0. 5nother friend of mine introduced me to an astral space that works as a #1ender Farm# for complespells. hinking about things in that way led me recently to some new ways to apply the properties of various Dakini1ealms.

5nyway the point is, that the more we know here between us =umans, the more spirits will build upon thatknowledge. here are certain things that :ust cannot be taught directly until we are ready to receive them. 4ometimesbeing ready means being able to access the mental planes, reverse the flow of Chi in the Dan ien, or hold non2dualawareness. 4ometimes it :ust means being tech savvy or understanding string theory.
