Aboriginal communities are invited to take part in this netball tournament to be held at Charlestown Netball Courts The Tournament is aimed at increasing participation of Aboriginal Women in Sport and Recreation in a fun competitive environment

- Open Women
- Junior Girls, 15 years and below
- Mixed women and men’s teams
Maximum of fourteen players registered per team
Maximum of three non Aboriginal players per team

Time Friday 5pm and Saturday 8.30am
Venue Charlestown Netball Complex, Bula Street, Charlestown
Cost $250 (incl. GST) per team
Note Team registrations close Wednesday 26 October, 2011
An Aboriginal womens breakfast will be held on the Saturday morning for all participants of the netball tournament

Koori netball tournament Team registration form – 28 to 29 October, 2011
Each player is required to complete the participant information form. For children under the age of 18 they must have a parent/legal guardian to sign the participant information form before being accepted into the competition.
Teams are responsible for their own personal insurance
Drug and alcohol free event
Team Managers are required to attend a briefing at 5:00pm on Friday 28 October in the Charlestown Netball Clubhouse and the draw will be available.
The rules for play shall be those of Netball Australia
All teams must be at the courts by 5pm on Friday 28 October with play to commence at 6pm. On Saturday 29 October, teams are to be at the courts by 8:00am with play to commence at 8:30am
Maximum of 14 players registered per team
Maximum of 3 Non-Aboriginal players per team
This year umpires will be paid at the tournament. If you have an umpire that is not in a team, please complete expression of interest.
NOTE: Number of teams is limited, early payment will ensure your team into the tournament. Team registrations and full payment must be received by the Newcastle Office by Wednesday 26 October.

a) I agree to, or I agree for my child/ward to attend the Centre to undertake
all activities and/or to participate in the above program. In the case of an
emergency, I authorise Communities NSW, Sport and Recreation staff,
where it is impracticable to communicate with me, to arrange for me, or my
child/ward, to receive such medical or surgical treatment as may be deemed
necessary. I also undertake to pay or reimburse costs which may be incurred
for medical attention, ambulance transport and drugs while I am
participating, or my child/ward is attending the Centre/enrolled in the
program.
I understand that although Communities NSW, Sport and Recreation and its
service providers attempt to minimise any risk of personal injury within
practical boundaries, accidents do happen and all physical activities carry
the risk of personal injury. I acknowledge that there is an inherent risk of
personal injury in physical activities that will be undertaken at the Centre/as
part of the program and I accept that risk.
b) I consent to allow NSW Government to use my name/my child’s/my
ward’s name and any photographs, sound and film recordings taken of
myself/my child/my ward at this program for the promotion of the
Communities NSW services and initiative to the media and to the general

The information will be provided to instructors of the program and their supervisors, where necessary, and you consent to this disclosure. If you have been asked for information regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and cultural background, this information is voluntary and is being compiled for statistical purposes only. Any information provided by you will be stored on a database that will only be accessed by authorised personnel and is subject to privacy restrictions. The information will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected. Any information provided by you to the department can be accessed by you during standard office hours and updated by writing to us or by contacting us on 13 13 02.
Refunds and cancellations Requests for refunds must be made within seven (7) working days prior to the commencement of the program in which you are enrolled. All requests must be made in writing. All refunds are subject to an administration fee of 20 per cent of the total program fee. Refunds will not be given for partial attendance, nor will make up lessons be provided. Refunds will be paid at the completion of the program. Sport and Recreation reserves the right to cancel any program/s. Every effort will be made to give reasonable notice to those who have enrolled when a program is cancelled. Those enrolled will be given a full refund

Umpires WANTED Koori netball tournament 2011 28 to 29 October, 2011
Expression of Interest- Umpires
Sport and Recreation is expecting more than 300 Aboriginal netballers to be involved in the October tournament. It is being hosted by the Charlestown Netball Association in partnership with Sport and Recreation across three Divisions: Open Women, Junior Girls and Mixed. This event is in its 12th year, and is open to all Aboriginal people in NSW. Past participants have travelled as far as Dubbo, Sydney, Macleay Valley and Armidale. The Newcastle Koori Netball Tournament will be held on the evening of Friday 28th October, 5pm, and Saturday 24 October, 8.30am, at the Charlestown Netball Courts, Bula Street, Charlestown. Code of Conduct Official
• I will place the safety and welfare of players above all else • I will show concern and caution towards sick and injured players • I will give all players a ‘fair go’ regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion • I will be impartial, consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions • I will accept responsibility for my actions and decisions • I will condemn unsporting behaviour and promote respect for the individuality of players • I will avoid any situations which may lead to or be construed as a conflict of interest • I will be a positive role model in behaviour and personal appearance and ensure my comments are positive and
supportive • I will be a good sport as I understand that actions speak louder than words • I will always respect, remain loyal to and support other officials • I will keep up to date with the latest ‘Laws of the Game’, trends and principles of their application • I will refrain from any form of personal abuse towards players or other officials • I will refrain from any form of sexual harassment towards players or other officials • I will not arrive at the venue intoxicated or drink alcohol • I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the game, regardless of their gender, ability or cultural
background. Player • I will always play by the rules • I will never argue with an official. If I disagree with a decision I will inform the captain, coach or manager during a break
or after the competition • I will control my temper. I understand that verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players and deliberately
