The Medical Students’ Society of Bond University (MSSBU) is a representative body dedicated to enriching the university experience of Bond medical students during their MBBS program. The society strives to support students academically, financially and socially. The MSSBU appreciates that to achieve this, support is needed from external corporations in the form of sponsorship. We strive to create a mutually beneficial relationship in which sponsors get maximum exposure to Bond medical students through events, advertisements and merchandising.

The 2013 MSSBU aims to increase the number of sponsors that contribute to the society as well as strengthen relationships with current sponsors. This year we have plans for several new events, publications and merchandising prospects that will increase the opportunities for sponsors to be involved with the MSSBU and the Bond medical community.

This document outlines the ways in which your corporation can become affiliated with the MSSBU and the benefits that such an affiliation will provide.

Page 5

The 2013 Executive Committee appreciates the importance of our relationships with our sponsors, who will be promoted at academic, charitable and social events throughout the year. In 2013 we are introducing a number of new events, which we anticipate will be highly successful and will expand opportunities for sponsors to meet students. In addition, we have a number of publications available for sponsor advertisements and hope to expand on publications and merchandising opportunities from previous years. MSSBU is interested in tailoring individual packages to meet sponsors’ needs.

Sponsorship involvement allows Bond students to be educated early in their career about issues that will impact them in their chosen profession as well as providing valuable networking opportunities. Sponsorship funding is an invaluable resource that allows us to provide Bond medical students with an enriching experience of university life. In return our sponsors will gain maximum exposure to Bond medical students. We hope to work closely with all our sponsors for the mutually beneficial outcome of producing fully equipped doctors for the future.

What It Means To Be Our Sponsor

How Sponsorship Benefits the Students:

Page 6

MSSBU will endeavor to provide your company with a multitude of advertising opportunities. We will aim to promote your company to medical students and staff with a focus on graduating students. This will be done through the following mediums:

• Depiction of your company logo on the MSSBU newsletter, website, yearbook andevent promotional materials.

• Merchandising, for example Bond medical school jumpers that are extremely popularwhich students wear around the faculty and outside the university. The 2013 MSSBUplans to expand merchandise through the design and purchase of new productsincluding hats, t-shirts and bags.

• There will also be opportunities for sponsors to come to MSSBU events held at BondUniversity to speak to the students, give presentations and set up stalls.

By becoming an MSSBU sponsor you will be promoting a positive image of your business to the Australian medical community. Your company will be demonstrating its interest in, and commitment to the development of new doctors and the future of the medical profession. It is through your sponsorship agreement with MSSBU that our graduates are able to make informed choices about companies and products they wish to use in their professional life. Therefore, sponsorship will be a valuable opportunity for your company to secure future clients who are likely to be loyal and reliable customers.

ORIENTATION WEEK BOOKLET

A new publication, this comprehensive ‘survival guide’ provides first year medical students with all of the information necessary to make their transition as easy as possible. It includes an overview of the medical program and its components, helpful study tips, useful textbook information and a calendar to avoid missing any important academic or social events. First year students will gain a great understanding of the role of MSSBU within the Medical Program during the first week, as well as being exposed to associations and sponsors affiliated with MSSBU for the first time. First years will become aware that MSSBU is a helpful point of contact for any questions or concerns that they may have in future.

NEWSLETTER

The MSSBU newsletter will be a fortnightly publication informing the students of all MSSBU’s academic or social events in the days to come. It will also include photos and details of the success of previous events, any relevant news within the faculty, and promotion of our charities. Through this initiative, MSSBU will maintain maximum communication with medical students through email as well as print mediums. We are expanding the newsletter from previous years; this will be an excellent opportunity for sponsors to have regular exposure to students on a fortnightly basis.

WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA

The MSSBU Website and social media outlets are also utilised as a popular form of communication with students. They will include promotions and information for all initiatives and events organised by our association, which will also be found on posters and in printed mediums around the university. We aim this year to expand the website and make more use of this medium for sponsorship promotion by further developing the sponsorship page.

ARTICLES

The website will also include helpful and informative articles and forums based on student concerns that arise during the course of their medical degree. Currently, students would like to know more about the availability of internship places and MSSBU aims to meet this need by thoroughly researching and presenting this information to them.

The MSSBU has four tiers of sponsorship available for external corporations to consider. The tiers are as follows:

• Platinum $10,000 • Gold $5,000 • Silver $3,000 • Bronze Negotiable amount

Each tier provides different benefits for our sponsors, detailed in the next section. We have introduced two new bronze sponsorship opportunities, the Orientation Week Brochure and the Graduation Presents. Current sponsors are welcome to apply for these bronze sponsorships in addition to their other sponsorship package. Either of these new initiatives would be an excellent avenue for current sponsors to expand their marketing opportunities. We are committed to maintaining and improving our relationship with our sponsors and welcome feedback as to how we can achieve this. We are open to discussing individualised packages for our sponsors.

The MSSBU understands that as dynamic and ever-changing companies you may require individual and tailored sponsorship packages that give your company the desired representation to the students of Bond Medicine. We are willing to work with you in developing individual agreements and welcome any queries you may have in relationship to representation with the MSSBU.
