    S.O.A.R. Scholarship Opportunities for Activities & Recreation

    The City of Frisco is committed to serving the diverse needs of its citizens. The Frisco Parks & Recreation Department has established a Scholarship Program for qualified Frisco residents to participate in City of Frisco recreation programs and special events. Scholarships may not be applied to Frisco Athletic Center memberships. To download an application, go to FriscoFun.org. The application deadline for Spring programs is Wednesday, December 21 at 5 p.m.

    Adog-gonegood time!

    Friscos first dog park Ruff Range opened this fall. This park is located within B.F. Phillips Community park at, 3335 4th Army Memorial. The dog park is open from sunrise to sunset everyday, excluding Thursdays when it is closed for maintenance. Come see what everyone is talking about!

    A Refund Request form must be received at least ten days prior to the start of the ses-sion in order for a refund to be issued. A 20% processing fee will be assessed on all refund requests.

    Wiggle and Wade (3-5 years)Grab your swimsuit and towel - its time to have some fun! This interactive class will combine games, crafts, music, reading, swim-ming, and play all in one. Each class will include varying activities and themed educational opportunities. Along with the non-stop ac-tivities, a 35 minute swim lesson is conducted by certified swim in-structors. Each class will conclude with pool play time.     Sign up to have your childs or your swimming skills assessed for free by one of our Certified Swimming Instructors. The instructors will spend one-on-one time with each registered participant to evaluate their current swimming level and discuss developmental swimming goals.

    Registration is required to participate in the free assessment. The assessment will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Assessments are available Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Appointments are not required. A swimsuit is required and goggles are strongly recommended.

    The Learn to Swim program is proud to offer private swim lessons for children of all levels ages 3 and up. Our certified instructors will teach the skills required to make swimming a more rewarding and enjoyable experience. Sessions include three or four, 30-minute private lessons. Pick a time that is convenient for you.

    How do I get started?1. Choose a day (Tuesdays or Thursdays) that works best

    for you.

    2. Choose a session start date.

    3. Choose a lesson time from those listed below.

    4. Register online at FriscoFun.org or in person at the Frisco Athletic Center.

    There are no make-up classes or refunds for missed classes. If you are more than 10 minutes late, the instructor may cancel the lesson at their discretion. Please view our medical absence policy online at

    American Red Cross Water Safety InstructorWater Safety Instructor Course certifies participants to teach Red Cross swimming courses to infants through adults.     Frisco Tennis School recently celebrated 7 years of bringing tennis to the citys neighborhoods with clinics all over town. Beginning players have a blast learning the basics of the sport, and advanced players gain skills as they train for school and tournament play. Frisco Tennis School is a cooperative effort of Frisco ISD and the City of Frisco to offer affordable programming on public courts. Make-ups for inclement weather or illness should be made up during each session and should be coordinated with your coach. Rackets are provided if needed. Students should bring water.
