How do we transform a one month selfie event

into an ongoing selfie program

New Selfie Program Mission bull Headlines read ldquoSanford is Selfie Cityrdquo ~ bull For the Sanford Selfie program to earn prestige and notoriety beyond our borders a signature

event to Sanford (done more successfully more creatively than other cities) bull Sanford Selfies are recognized as having enriched artistic value because of the higher intentions

promoted through the program ndash inspires more thoughtful execution and creativity

Purpose bull To take back our image and reputation

The selfie program can help to begin establishing a real and honest

contemporary profile for Sanford bull To increase the number of visitors to Sanford bull To add to revitalization efforts for the city of Sanford especially Sanfordrsquos historic downtown bull To add to economic development efforts by promoting Sanfordrsquos fun and artistic side

Goal bull For the Sanford Selfie program to rebrand our city as happening creative and successful with

relevant vibrant growth bull To attract businesses and residents that contribute to Sanfordrsquos quality of life - driving lsquotrafficrsquo

business success and increased property values

Step 1

Why Expand bull This is a project that ripples like the rings from a pebble in a pond -- the center of town

will benefit foremost then the landmarks and businesses in the far reaches and finally the outer ring brings new people and their dollars into Sanford and promotes exposure of Sanford as these visitors return to their homes elsewhere

bull Taking the Sanford Selfie program year round makes our Downtown the strong heart center of a large-scale community-building movement

It gives the people a reason to connect with one another to talk more to each other to showcase what their creative spirit can do

It creates buzz in town and pride over the things the townspeople decide are special to them

bull The point of a social media campaign is growth and expansion The best case scenario is for a campaignrsquos mission and brand to go viral The probabilities of such increase when the reach of inclusion also grow and expand
