    Brain Builders

    If you bring a snack, make it PEANUT FREE!

    Extra! Extra! Read All About it! (Grades 3-5)This class is dedicated to the making of a school newspaper solely by students. Students will create a printed newspaper for their school and community using their own creativity and design through the help of the instructor. Our instructor, Sadie Benson, will direct you through the process. Our final objective will be to have a printed newspaper and end with a Hot off the Press party. Instructor: Sadie Benson

    NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers (Grades 1-5)Explore the Earth, Moon, Mars and beyond. Mad Science brings you the excitement and wonder of space in this program featuring student activities from the NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers Program. The Academy of Future Space Explorers takes children on a voyage of discovery. With unique hands-on activities, amazing demonstrations and fun educational take-homes, this is an experience that is truly out of this world!     Imagine & Design

    Minecraft Game Designer (Grades 1-5)Dont just play Minecraft! Turn Minecraft from a game into a visual learning tool! This course introduces students to a whole new world of possibilities in Minecraft. This class will reinforce problem solving skills and spatial cognition through learning to create in-game puzzles, mazes, and obstacle courses. Student will learn basic game design skills while they collaborate to build Adventure maps, as well as some advanced features of Minecraft, such as Command Blocks. This class has a strong emphasis on creativity, exploration and cooperative learning experiences. Instructor: Computer Expolorers

    The Messiest Art Class Ever! Part II (Grades K-5)Back by popular demand with all new projects that takes mess-making to a whole new level! Well paint with plaster, sculpt with gooey gunk, make papier mach birds and fling paint like Jackson Pollock. We will even learn some art terms along the way. These are not projects to tackle at home leave the mess with us. After all, being a kid is messy business! We will recreate famous works of art like Van Goghs Sunflowers, Monets Water Lilies, Matisses The Flight of Icarus and many others, all on real canvas boards. Make room on your walls!     Beginner Group Violin Lessons (Grades 2-5)Learn all about playing the beautiful & melodious violin! In this beginning violin class, you will learn proper position and you will be able to play a few songs by the end of our session. We will celebrate your hard work by performing a concert for friends and family at our last class. Music and violin( to be used at class only) will be provided. (You can rent a violin from the instructor for a small rental fee. Please talk to the instructor on the 1st day of class if you are interested in renting a violin.)Instructor: Sadie Benson

    A.C.T. Presents: The Prince and the Pauper Mark Twains classic tale comes to life onstage! When the Prince of Wales sees poor Tom Canty mistreated by one of his guards, the prince suggests they exchange clothing for fun in Toms rags, the prince looks like a peacock fell in the mud n froze while Tom claims the royal regalia is so heavy its like to break me back. But the fun and games soon become harsh reality. Wearing each others shoes (literally), the boys discover what its like on the other side, and it doesnt take long for each of them to appreciate the life they always knew.     Health & Safety Sports & RecreationCheerAmerica (Ages 5 - 14)CheerAmerica is an exciting cheerleading and dance program. Students learn popular cheers, chants, jumps, leaps, choreographed pompom/dance routines, parade marching techniques and other skills involved in performances, competitions and school cheerleading try-outs. The program promotes improved coordination, physical fitness, personal esteem and working as a cooperative team member with other youth in the class.
