Update On SAJE Quilts Your generosity enabled us to raise over $1,200 on the twin size quilt raffle this spring. The proceeds have gone toward the services of our nurse, Deb Goldfeder. The lucky winner was Don Dippel, a longtime member of Advent Episcopal. Rumor has it that Don was one of the first people to buy a ticket, and yet it managed to work its way to the top. Congratulations, Don, and thank you for participating. The quilters are almost finished with their second quilt. This time it is a dramatic queen size. We will begin our raffle on this quilt at the Route 66 Car Cruise on August 13th. You may recall that SAJE was given a $2,000 grant by the Crestwood/Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce two years ago from the proceeds of the Car Cruise that year. Kill two birds with one stone. Have fun at the car cruise events and get your raffle tickets EARLY. Apparently that’s the way to get a winning ticket. Thank you for your support of SAJE. See you at a SAJE event. There are many to choose from.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

The St. Elizabeth Conference of St. Vincent de Paul will hold their next meeting on Thursday, August 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room at church. New members are always welcome. It is an opportunity to help those in need in our area. It does not require a lot of time and the rewards can be great. If you are aware of anyone in our area who is in need, please refer them to the call line on the front of the bulletin (314-289-6101, Ext. 2274). That line is monitored daily and calls are returned. We help people who need food, help with utilities, rent and many other things. Please give this some thought and prayer and come join us on Thursday, August 11th. If you would like further information, call Joan Zimmermann, 314-722-2295.
